Alice Won't Let Go Of #1!

Duh!
For the second week in a row, the fantastical Alice In Wonderland has dominated the box office!
The Tim Burton flick, which earned $116 million its opening weekend, is expected to have a total earning of $200 million by the weekend's close!
We wonder how long it'll stay on top!

It'll be on top for this week only. If it drops by 50% next week, "The Bounty Hunter" will probably take the #1 spot. Unfortunately.
Also, for you R-Patz fans… "Remember Me" only made about $10 million over 3 days. What are you doing? You guys scream and wail and talk about how much you love him, yet you can't even muster up in three days 1/7th the business of what "New Moon" made in one day? Some fans you are!
i haven't seen it yet but wanna bcuz i heard its good
Great Pix for everybody. Just saw it and loved the homage to Bette Davis and Errol Flynn as "Alice" Red Queen and her guard.
Actually, "Remember Me" did even worse. Less than $9 million, most of which came from Friday night showings. Wow. That totally messed up my box office standings too, damn you "Remember Me" & "Green Zone" for bombing!
Love this movie, keep watching it guys! Also take into consideration this movie is being seen mainly in Imax 3D and Digital 3D, so the tickets are more expensive. Its competition are in 2D.
i knew aboit this movie because of tokio hotel´s soundtrack … .it´s really good… and the movie is awsome…. xD
First off Remember Me was an independent film that was released in only 2000 theaters while Alice was released in over 4000 theaters in IMAX theaters, 3D and 2D. Green Zone was released in over 3500 theaters with a wider distribution. You can't compare Remember Me with all these big budget films. The film made more money in each screening theater than all these movies.
I notice that perez has not said anything about Robert P's movie bombing.
Perfect time to have a movie come out. There's no competition.American Pie#5 get with it!!!!
Liked the movie. Must see in Imax 3D for sure. Make up artist - off with her head!!! Horrible horrible horrible job. Looked like white clown make up hastily put on, smudges, rough lines and Mad Hatter went from five o clock shadow to clean shaven stache every two seconds. VERY distracting!
Re: XClaireXxx – I wouldn't say it's an independent film as much as it's a low-budget ($16 million compared to $200 million for "Alice"). However, considering all of the hype from the fan girls, $8 million for 3 days is chump change. Also, no it did not make more money per theater than the other films. "Green Zone" made $4800 dollars per theater in 3,003 theaters. "Our Family Wedding", an even smaller budget comedy with no promotion, made $4735 per theater. "Remember Me" made only $3700 per theater. You can twist the words if you like, but the numbers don't lie. "Remember Me" bombed.
Saw it last weekend at the IMAX 3d, Bored out of my mind. More of a little kid movie, and even then…i dont think it would enterntain them enough either. I thought it would be so much better!
god how i hated that movie!! a waste of fucking money!! Johnny break dancing?? really?
LOVED the outfits tho… and the red queen rocked.
i'm just so sick that I spent good money to watch this.
Helene was great but the movie was DULL. Sorry but it is over-rated by a mile.
Anne Hathaway was totally wrong for the part too.
I was so excited for this movie. I saw it last weekend..it kinda sucked. There wasn't really a plot. Too much was put into the scenery and costumes and not enough into an actual storyline. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter were pretty good, but the movie was still lacking. I wasn't really a big fan of whoever played Alice.
I think it will be on top for a few more weeks, i saw it and it was amazing.
It's not good at all it's boring :/
I guess people like Disney flicks.
Alice In Wonderland is in my top 3 for Disney Movies.
I dug the 1999 version too.
This movie was incredible. I could care less if she didn't grow big in a house and some characters were missing. It wasn't meant to capture everything you SEE in the original. The whole point it that Alice comes back older and less naiive. Tim Burton puts together all the puzzle pieces and creates another hit movie.
Johnny Depp stole the show. Alice and the Red Queen also dida amazing, but Johnny Depp as usual played his character too well. Tim Burton wrote it that way because that character never was really explained in the original or following movies/stories.
If you haven't seen it, SEE IT. You don't regret it.
the movie was kinda boring for me…good effects and make-up though
It's a fantastic film, much much better than Avatar. Well done Tim Burton
That movie was such a disappointment! A complete waste of my money.
The pacing was all wrong, it lacked a cohesive storyline, the 3D was a joke & not at all worth the extra money, it lacked creative visuals, the color palette was all wrong, etc. etc.
I thought this movie had potential to be amazing, but in the end I think incredibly underwhelming is the only appropriate way to describe it.
people are seeing this movie because they want to witness how horrible this movie is first hand!! see Our Family Wedding or She's Outta My League! Now those were good movies!
i love this movie!!
I took my son to see that movie in 3D this weekend. Like others have saud it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Quite slow most of it.
Re: Armond – You're not alone…
Alice is wonderland was a great movie!! Of course, it was better to see it in 3D. I dont think that Robert Patterson's movie bombed. It only cost $10 to make, and it already grossed $8 million. However, the Green Zone cost $100 million, and only made $14.5. Next weekend you have Kristen Stewart new movie "The Runaways", competing against, Diary of the Wimpy Kid, How to train a dragon, and Jennifer's movie Bounty Hunter. Then there's Repo Man.
Alice was better in 3D. Kids really enjoyed it. Can't wait to see Diary of the Wimpy Kid, and The ruNAWAYS…….with Kristen Stewart.
Hated it.
I recommend to avoid people, but if you like colorful movies with canned acting and seeing Johnny Depp act like an oddity (once again) this is your movie.
i went to see it this weekend… and loved it!
in the picture i first thought bette davis?!!!!
It was Fu#@ing Incredible. Thats why!
it was good!!
