Corey's Mom Points The Investigation To Urgent Care!

Corey Haim's mother, Judy Haim, has told the LA County Coroner's Office to check out a couple of urgent care facilities her son used to frequent often!
Judy says Corey would go to multiple urgent cares to obtain prescriptions and some of the facilities would prescribe him up to 90 pills at a time!
So not okay!
The coroner's office will be obtaining a list of the facilities Corey was known to hit up often, and between this and the alleged prescription drug rings, the shiz is seriously about to hit the fan for the drug peddlers!

he was probably hangin over at MJ's house. The pill factory
Sad sad sad ….. I blame HollyWood !
Yeah, blame the urgent care facility. He was the one asking for the pills, dumbass! You probably blame drug dealers too. People love to pass the buck, don't they?
Bad parents.
Hmmm… This "shizz about to hit the fan" thing was the same thing Perez said about Britney Murphy and MJ.. And Shizz did not really hit the fan so soon or so hard.. heck, MJ deal came and went without a fizzle..
Re: courtenai1536 – not quite the same thing..one is a medical facility ..other a drug dealer
I believe it was Current TV's Vanguard that did a segment covering these so-called urgent care clinics. They were packed with people wanting no more than a perscription for excessive pain and other meds. Most of them were very non-descript and hard to spot.
Glad to hear it. Clean up Florida and a few of the other states with bad legal drug dispensing outlets (i.e. medical clinics). And, by the way, it seems pretty obvious that all these pills over time are ruining people's health. Too many people dying with "flu symptoms", which is obviously the heart giving way and the lungs filling with fluid, not the flu.
Re: courtenai1536 – Nicely said! I totally agree with you!
As if this is a shock! Perez that is how Addict's get their prescriptions!
Wait a minute…why didn't this all come out BEFORE HE DIED?? I'm not gonna say much but, I WILL SAY if someone would have came forward on all this crazy info sooner, Corey just might not be dead. Sure he may be in jail, BUT HE WON'T BE DEAD! Good grief!
Hi, don't you think Corey's Mom is doing the right thing by making sure this "avenue" to get drugs is shut down and is helping others by doing so? Also, putting more dealers behind bars?
Re: CrankyGranny – Yes I think it is, I just wish she would have said something sooner!
the 90 pills thing, you now get a 3 MONTH SUPPLY OF MEDICATIONS WHEN YOU GET A PRESCRIPTION, AS LONG AS IT IS NOT A NARCOTIC. This has been standard proceedure for a few years now. Like a said, if this is a regular presciption, and it is not a narcotic, you get 3 months at a time. so, if you take it once a day, everyday, it will be 90 pills. addictive meds are only supposed to be given out on a monthly supply.
sooooo, lets go back to where the problem starts…..WITH THE DRUG ADDICT. and how did this all start? didn't he have problems in his early teens? didn't everyone cater to him because he was a 'star'? So what if he is out all hours of the night at 15? in clubs at that age? caught drinking? HE IS A STAR MAKING THE STUDIOS MONEY!!!!!!! MOM, JUST SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE!!!! and of course, he was bringing in money so the parents did and let him run wild.
Re: justtfax – My doc use to give me 90 every month!
OK, SO WHO'S NEXT LEIF GARRETT. LEIF TAKE NOTE AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.
They should put him in a paper bag, leave on the neighbor's porch and set it on fire like the $hit that he is.
Corey Feldman pushed drugs on River Phoenix and Corey Haim.
The Drug Industry is selling Heroin. Same ingredients but profitable.
Re: The Audge – Eww y so mean?
Re: courtenai1536 –
Urgent care facilities are to be used when your family doctor is out of town and you need "urgent" care for fever, flu etc… If you are in pain, they may be able to take an x-ray and take up your little broken toe and might supply you with a day or two supply of vicodin. But a responsible UCF will not prescribe valium under any circumstances to a "walk-in" nor will they prescribe narcotics on a regular basis.
To get these meds on a regular basis, you must be seeing a doctor familiar with your pain problem or a family doctor or Psychiatrist.
You are obviously not familiar with the way the US healthcare system is supposed to work. This is obviously a case where it didn't work as intended, so the mother has every right to believe that her son's addiction was being enabled by these facilities.
However, I will not call you a "dumbass" just because you are ignorant of the facts.
They have got to stop the 12-Step Religious Cult Insanity and HELP THESE PEOPLE. The MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR 12-Step Religious Cult FRAUD IS KILLING PEOPLE!
Re: Christina Polo – You are completely WRONG. When I sprained my ankle, I went to urgent care (on the recommendation of my insurance company, who fines you $500 if you go to the ER for a "non-emergency"). I had my exam, my x-ray, the physicians assistant wrote me a script for 30 percocet and then scheduled a follow up appointment for 3 weeks later. At that follow up appointment, she wrote me a script for 90 more pills. 120 pills in less than 30 days!!!!!!! If you want pills - go to urgent care.
Re: Fyrdanser – Going now! HAHAH Just joking! That is all true!
Interesting how family & friends [always] come out with this kind of information AFTER their loved one is gone. Finally there is some concern…..hmmmmm little late, hon….
Where were you before, Mom? Did you not notice your son had a problem??? Hello!?!?! …..
Re: courtenai1536 – Damn right they're the ones to blame!!! Just because someone asks for something doesn't mean you give it to them. Doctors are meant to help people and they should know whats right and wrong and you should be able to count on them to do the right thing. And doctors actually offer to refill prescritions all the time which is pretty much an invitation for addicition. Corey was sooo talented and such a sweet, loving, down to earth guy. I feel that if he had gotten into the buisness when he was in his 20s he wouldn't have gotten into drugs and he would've became a serious actor and would've had a long and amazing career into his 50s or 60s but since he started so young he did amazing movies at young age but also because he was young drugs were more tempting and the addiction took its toll on him and he was starting to do alot of good movies that would've revived his career, he died before he got the chance. RIP COREY IAN HAIM. Love you forever
Re: Kevin1243 – Don't blame Corey Feldman!! Yes, he would do drugs with Corey Haim and some other friends but he sure didn't push it on them. Corey F and Corey H met when Corey F was 15 years old and Corey H was 14 and a half and Corey H went to rehab at age 15 for a coke addiciton. Corey F did drugs for two years and got clean without the help of anyone because he WANTED to get clean. And Corey Feldman never gave up on Corey Haim, he was ALWAYS there when it came down to it.
He was such a fun and talented child. When you have an accident or chronic pain, it is so easy to remedy your pain with Norco, Vicoden, etc. Once you start taking it, it is really hard to not deal with your pain without the need of some kind of drug to deal with life. Ninety pills a month is not abnormal if you take three or four a day to deal with work and so on. My doctor has been lowering the dosage for about a year, but you are so scared the pain will come back you keep taking the drugs before you need them. I don't know what the answer it to this horrible circle of problems, but a lot of people get in this horrible cycle and do not know how to get out. I'm a well educated person who is stuck in this cycle and it really sucks!!!
Re: bongo – You have no life.
I live in Toronto and we will gladly welcome Corey home. The poor guy. He was such a sweet person, caught up in the Hollywood crap and apparently abused as a teen. When will this all end!
The interesting thing about our medical system: there is no nationally controlled/monitored centralized database to track multiple visits to varying medical facilities. There SHOULD be a system whereby tracking and frequency of prescriptions (and when they were filled) via your Social Security number or other identifying criteria are possible. It would be as easy as pulling up your number to see your 'activity.'
so sad rest in peace xxx
