What do you think the Italian American Heritage Commission has to say about this???

MTV Italia has acquired the rights to season one of Jersey Shore!

The Italian network will be airing the trials and tribulations of Snooki, J-WOWW and the rest of those crazy kids starting on March 22nd.

If it does well over in Italy, does this mean the guidos and guidettes could be traveling abroad for season three???

      snookie looks like a maltese. i can't stand these people. it shows how mtv benefits off of the dumbing down of our society. this can be summed up by one continuous phrase in the movie idiocracy:

      sorry to differ but nowadays italy is exactly FULL of people like these…and our tv shows are no different than what i understood this one is…i didnt watch it, nor will i watch it once it gets over here, especially since i dont own a tv, but it doesnt take a genious to see that they are the typical reality tv kind of jerks that have been all over our tv for years now, as long as our government can numb the minds of young people and keep them in sheer ignorance…

      I live half the year in Italy, and I'm sure this show will be popular with their usual MTV crowd. teens. I mean, MTV Italia already shows Next, The Hills (about 2 season behind), Date My Mom, etc…. Italians make fun of 'Next', but still watch it…and unfortunately, assume/get the idea all American girls are like the stupid ho's on the show. I cringe to think what they'll assume after Jersey Shore. Don't get me wrong, i like the show for entertainment, but Americans already have a poor reputation in Europe for being ignorant and often drunk. sigh.

      It's not like HERE. These idiots are not Italian. I wish they weren't Americans either. You know what….yeah….let Italy get to broadcast the show….Maybe instead of coming to Miami these LOSERS would go to another place. It is SAD that MTV creates this show. Dude….keep Real World and the Road Rules shows; they're at least respectful.

      I disagree…I know many Italians that pass by MTV american shows and ask me questions and believe americans are like this. they laugh at these programs…but they are curious. I teach english, and most of my students watch Next, ecc…and they grow up thinking americans are like this. pero, come hai detto…pure in italia i programmi televisivi fanno schifo. ;-)

      the word 'guido' doesn't exist in italy in the same sense. in fact, it is 1st person singular "i drive". No Italians I know have heard of the 'other' meaning (east coast usa version)….there it would be more akin to truzzo or tamarro.

      All I can say is after season upon season of self-absorbed, bitchy, argumenting casts on Real World, it was nice to see that at the end of the day, these kids - much more than any other group - had each other's back.

Dude, grow a brain man and quit relying on what other people think of you. Even in Europe they had stereotypes about each other- all those countries secretly make fun of each other and it's not any different anywhere else. STOP WORRYING about what dumb people too lazy to get off the couch and venture over to a country will think.       I'm Italian too and I agree with those who said that the show is going to be successful here in Italy. unfortunately.
      In every culture and country there are intelligent and dumb people, litterate and illitterate people. in my opinion the point is that nowadays TV (both european and american indistinctively) is just an "advertisement box" with no to few exceptions. whatever works to increase the ratings and sell ads for a higher price is fine and sadly these idiots are a cheap and effective. they would kill to have their 15 minutes and some cash to buy things they don't need. Intelligent and moderate people don't belong in today's commercial tv and that's why it almost seems like they don't exist anymore.

      Obviously a hell of a lot of people watched the show, or there would be no second season. No one said it was a good show, but it is popular like it or not! They're normal 20 something's having a good time! Stop hating on them. If ya don't like it don't watch it! Its that simple!

      New York/Jersey/Philly Italains are a whole differant flavor than Italian Nationals. A lot of it is the NY City attitude and dialect. Italy will be amused but will not relate. It must suck for your only frame of reference to be TV.

Snooki doesn't look Maltese at all, I've seen Maltese people and they are quiet fair even though they live on an island in the centre of the med and in the summer their tans look natural not orange. Snooki looks more like of spanish/arabic descent. Still whatever she and her friends are they suck.
