The so-called 'revolutionary' new Mac product, the iPad, became available for pre-order on Friday, and reportedly over 120,000 were sold in one day!
HOLY SHIZ!! Isn't it just a giant iPhone??
Analyst Victor Castroll of Valcent Financial Group says:
'Apple has been able to generate over $75 million in revenue in one day on a product that 99.9% of purchasers haven't touched or for that matter, even seen in person.'
According to analyst Daniel Tello, however, there was a 'dramatic fall-off over the weekend' and sales dropped to about 1,000 sold per hour on Saturday and Sunday.
WTF? That still sounds like a lot to us!!

Uh, no thanks. This thing doesn't support flash and the battery can not be replaced! If your battery dies, you have to get a whole new ipad! REDONKULOUS!
iTS AN OVER SIZED IPOD AND ONCE THE BATTERY GOES YOU HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE BECAUSE THERES NO BATTERY REPLACEMENT ON THE THING… BUY AND IPHONE IF YOU WANT THE DAM THING ITS A SMARTER PURCHASE.
I can see it being a useful tool for people who develope apps for a living.

No flash, can't change the battery… just get a laptop and an ipod touch. Save you more money in the long run.
I am thrilled at the prospect. It is a must have for anyone who doesn't want the burden of a laptop. I am off to Asia soon and this baby is coming along for the ride. I love it long time.

Yeah. except sales dropped DRAMATICALLY over the course of the weekend. It's already monday and it's only at ~150,000. Speculators think it'll only reach half a million by the time it premiers on April 3rd. Which….isn't a lot for Apple.
They are a nice inexpensive option to travel with. It will be nice to read books and watch movies without lugging around the laptop.

Remember, this is only the PRE-sale meaning people have bought the product without even seeing them. More sales will be generated once the iPads have hit the Apple stores and people have the opportunity to play with them. Don't count the iPad out yet.
I think Apple stuff is way too expensive. If they want to generate the heat on this thing they have to bring the prices down for the consumer…especially these days. No battery? No flash? Come on.
Wow, thats allot of people who are going to be disappointed when they find out it can only run one application at a time, and it cant run any of the standard apple apps, and of course it does not have full codec support for movies.
Apple dusting off old ideas and selling them at 3 times the price, to dumb fashionista's since forever.
For those who have not yet made the mistake, go bu a tablet pc, its a ten year old idea, and the Slate for example will do everything you want plus more.
I read a good critique on this thing, and it's not all that for a few reasons. Google around and do some reading if you're thinking of shelling out for one. Some people will love it. It also has some worthy competition.
