He's still breaking records!

Pop legend Michael Jackson's estate has reportedly signed one of the largest recording contracts in HISTORY, which means that his music isn't going anywhere for quite a long time!

The contract will give Jackson's former label, Sony, the rights to sell and distribute the pop star's unheard recordings and back catalogs through 2017!!

Jackson's estate will apparently be rewarded up to $250 million for the use of his back catalog!

Holy shiz!! That is UNHEARD OF!!

Rob Stringer, chairman of Columbia/Epic Label Group, a division of Sony, says:

“It’s not just a record deal. We’re not just basing this on how many CDs we sell or how many downloads. There are also audio rights for theater, movies, computer games. I don’t know how an audio soundtrack will be used in 2017, but you’ve got to bet on Michael Jackson in any new platform.”

Wow. We hope people are still interested in Jackson in seven years, or this is going to be a MASSIVE misstep for Sony!

What do U think??? Are U interested in unreleased Michael Jackson recordings?

APOLOGIZE PEREZ! Here is your original post, cowardly edited after MJ DIED!
Here's what perez really felt when he heard the news:
We knew something like this would happen!!
Michael Jackson was taken by ambulance from his Holmby Hills home to a nearby Los Angeles hospital on Thursday afternoon!! Supposedly, the singer went into cardiac arrest and the paramedics had to administer CPR!!!
His mother is even on the way to visit him!!!… Read More
    We are dubious!!
Jacko pulled a similar stunt when he was getting ready for his big HBO special in '95 when he "collapsed" at rehearsal! He was dragging his heels on that just like his upcoming 50 date London residency at the 02 Arena, of which he already postponed the first few dates!!! Either he's lying or making himself sick, but we're curious to see if he's able to go on!!! Get your money back, ticket holders!!!!
    WHAT AN ASSHOLE!

  2. 2

FUCKTARD PEREZ! EAT SHIT AND DIE!

  3. 3

I wouldn't buy it - that's the past. I want new and fresh music, not old, stale stuff that Michael didn't even want to sell when he was alive…he left it to sit in 'storage', so that's probably where it belongs…no thanks!

  4. 4

Of course they will. THE LEGEND LIVES ON!

  5. 5

Flavor Flav, Happy 51st Birthday BOIIIIIIII !!!! He says " FUCK YOU TOO MARIO!

  6. 6

"We hope people are still interested in Jackson in seven years"

Perez, you are simply an idiot. Michael Jackson is a LEGEND. People are still going to be interested in him 70 years from now, let alone 7. He is written into the history books, people are going to be discovering him and his music for generations to come, just like they do with The Beatles.

The question is: are people still going to be giving the fucktard Perez the time of day in 7 years????

  7. 7

His career was over in 1985.

  8. 8

Re: Big Black Dick – YOU KNOW HE MISSES YOU MR BBD. HIS SITE IS FUCKING GAYLORD NOW.

    FREE TEDDY!

  9. 9

Well if Elvis's estate and the Beatles after breaking up 40 years ago can do it, so can the KING OF POP…. And i sure as hell will be interested in future unheard music. Apparently he had 300 unreleased songs b4 he died!

  10. 10

I think Perez needs to stop with his fairweathered support of Michael. Some days he speaks positively of him and other days he kicks the man's memory into the dirt. WTF???!!! I realize it is Perez's job to be a nasty gossip but to imply that a mna who has the greatest selling album of all time might not be relevant or popular seven years after his death is stupid. Michael was and always will be relevant to the music industry and the fact that even though he had not released a new album in over eight years when he died, his death still managed to break the hearts of millions across the world.
Michael will be popular and relevant forever…Same as Elvis and The Beatles.
Perez Hilton, however, will just be a forgotten moment in history when the world ate up hateful gossip on a daily basis.

  11. 11

Yes, of course. MJ is such a legend that he'll probably never stop being popular. As a habitual NYC-area clubgoer, I can assure everyone that "Don't Stop ’til You Get Enough" and "Billie Jean" still move more people to the dancefloor than whatever is #1 on the charts at any given time. And MJ was extremely forward-thinking and experimental in his music, so many of his songs, especially tracks from "Dangerous," "Blood on the Dancefloor" and "Invincible," sound like they were released decades after they actually were. For example, "In the Closet" sounds more like something Britney Spears would have recorded in the mid-2000s than something that came out in New Jack '91. I imagine his unreleased recordings were more experimental and could possibly pave the road for future artists.
The real question, I think, is whether diehard MJ fans will support Sony and/or the Jackson Estate, given the way that both are perceived as exploiting his legacy for $$$, not to mention MJ's issues with the label during his lifetime.

  12. 12

I'll buy. MJ was the best. No one comes close!

  13. 13

Record companies have a habit of jumping on the bandwagon a few years too late, such as with particular contracts awarded to REM and Janet Jackson, for example, that proved to be too much too late. Probably a similar situation here. Michael Jackson will continue to sell to a point, but it seems as if Sony might be over-estimating the over-arch of his continued/sustained mass appeal.

  14. 14

The kids are making their own stun gun mixes. Zap biotches

  15. 15

Re: teabaggy – HAHAHHAHAHA THATS WHEN YOU SLIPPED INTO A COMA RIGHT?
YOU CLEARLY NEED TO DO YOUR RESEARCH DUMBASS!
MICHAEL IS THE GREATEST LEGEND OF ALL.
AND HIS CAREER STILL ISN'T OVER,EVEN AFTER HIS DEATH SO POW!

  16. 16

"We hope people are still interested in Jackson in seven years"

REALLY PEREZ??? Michael Jackson is a music icon, people will always be interested in his music…the same way (if not more) than music lovers are still "interested" in The Beatles, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, Tupac Shakur, etc.

For your sake, I hope people will stilll be interested in Lady Gaga.

  17. 17

Please.. He will continue to sell records and merchandise for many years to come. Stars like him never really die when it comes to making money..Sad when you think about it.. He will continue to make more money did, than I ever will alive..LOL

  18. 18

Are we still interested? What a dumb ass question, fat ass. MJ is forever and so is his music. MJ will have new music released and he will continue to break records. He sold 31 million albums since his death. FUCK ALL THE HATERS…….MJ WILL BREAK RECORDS FOREVER. HE WILL BREAK HIS OWN RECORDS TOO. WE LOVE YOU MJ. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU RELEASE NEW AND GREAT MUSIC. IT WILL DEBUT NUMBER 1 ALL OVER THE WORLD.R.I.P KING, MJJ!!!

  19. 19

Re: lambertluvr – i guess you can't read. IT SAYS NEW UNHEARD RECORDINGS. MEANING NEW SONGS, IDIOT. MJ FOREVER!!!

  20. 20

Re: teabaggy – Really? Then why did he release number 1 albums after that? MJ IS FOREVER. HE ALWAYS BREAK RECORDS, SO GET USED TO IT. IF his career was over I don't think Sony would waste their money on him. NO ONE WILL EVER COME CLOSE OR SURPASS MJJ. MJ FOREVER!!

  21. 21

Re: stellagranos – MJ has no boundaries. HE WILL SELL FOREVER. If we are still talking about Elvis and John Lennon rest assure we will FOREVER be talking about MJ. Mj was far more popular then any other person ever and he will continue to be. MJ will SELL FOREVER. WE LOVE YOU MJ!!!

  22. 22

I LOVE WHEN MJ BREAKS RECORDS. WE LOVE YOU MJ. YOU WILL OUTLAST EVERYBODY.R.I.P KING MJ!!!

  23. 23

OK Perez WTF will we still be interested in 7 years!!! Are you fucken serious!!!!! First of all he is the KING OF POP! You need not forget that and you are questioning if we will still be interested! Are you stupid or what??? I think you fucken know the dam answer!!! Enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. 24

Well, whatever you think of Michael Jackson - fair weather supporter, fan, hater, whatever - you have to admit that his 'Estate' certainly knows how to maximize return on his image.

Joe Jackson would dig up the body and send it on a world tour if he thought he could make a few bucks at it.

I always thought that he was kinda creepy myself, but then again anyone who grew up in that environment, with those role models would do well to come out without major psychological trauma..

    Sigh….

  25. 25

You "hope" people are still "interested" in Michael in 7 years? LOL! This isn’t Miley Cyrus we are talking about here. This is MICHAEL JACKSON! There will always be interest in his music. The legend has died, but the music will forever live on.

  26. 26

Perez you are such a crap starter! "We hope people are still interested in Jackson in seven years" Are you serious!!??
I'm looking forward to hearing all of his music. I do however wonder if that is something Michael would have wanted? He was a perfectionist and alot of his unrealesed music I'm sure was not completed to his standards. I am happy his estate will be getting more money. The kids and Ms. Katherine were already set but now they are super set. I know his administrators are happy too. They are going to be seeing a nice payday.

  27. 27

Re: DJ Wonderman – "For example, "In the Closet" sounds more like something Britney Spears would have recorded in the mid-2000s than something that came out in New Jack '91."

Great point! I so agree! I also agree with what you said about SONY. Michael after awhile didn't have a good relationship with them and here they are once again cashing in. That's the business for you. As much as I disagree w/ SONY's decisions, I do know that something had to be done in order to get his music out. John Branca and Co. get the side eye from me as well but once again it's just business to these people. As long as Prince, Paris, Blanket, and Ms. Katherine get their money and we can hear years, and years more of Michael then I'm happy with the deal I guess.

  28. 28

Re: MJfanatic – "I LOVE WHEN MJ BREAKS RECORDS"
Me too!!! ;) He would be so happy to know about this one. I'm sure he know's though ;)

  29. 29

Michael and his music will continue to be legendary for years to come, only concerning thing is if the money goes to the estate, I sure hope it's set aside for MJ's kids…U know greedy Joe will be all over this when the money starts coming in…

  30. 30

I would do anything to hear anything new from MJ. And yes I agree with DJ Wonderman, he was so much at the forefront of music, his new stuff will probably sound so much better than the crap we have to put up with today. Let me think MJ - Taylor Swift??
I think Sony paid far too little for the deal. In fact they probably knew that of he was dead they would make more money once his contract was up for renewal. Hmm, another mystery in that strange death puzzle.

  31. 31

    im so excited
    i love mj
and people who believe tabloid lies need to use thier own minds
his music is amazing he is the king of pop

  32. 32

Sony heard some of the new Michael Jackson songs and was blown away and came up with the deal.I heard Michael Jackson new music is the bomb!!!!!

  33. 33

yeh! i've been waiting for years for some new mj music and everytime he releases something am gonna buy it and then wait to buy the next one.

  34. mjj<3 says – reply to this

    34

HELL YES I will buy his unreleased recordings!! I cant WAIT to hear them!! He will ALWAYS, ALWAYS remain relevant - He's the King amongst music. Love you Michael!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  35. 35

perez u really get on my nerves with this SHIT

"We hope people are still interested in Jackson in seven years,"
are you funckin kidding me A artist like MJ will be relavent until the end of time and yes people will still be interested even when your ass becomes magnet food people will still be buying his shit

you really need to stop trying him with that bullshit either your gonna praise him or talk shit

which one is it gonna be

  36. 36

hell yeah!!!!!! HE'S SIMPLY THE BEST THERE EVER WAS!!! HELLLLLLLLLLL YAH!!! ILL BE BUYING EVERYTHING! HATERS CAN HATE ALL THEY WANT… MICHAEL IS WORLDWIDE! HIS SMALLEST AUDIENCE BEING NORTH AMERICA… THE REST OF THE WORLD ADORES HIM….. MUSIC OF TODAY and the future is easily dated…. short life span… MIchael Jackson is timeless.. MICHAEL JACKSON FOREVER!

  37. 37

Perez, now your just being stupid, of course people will still remember Michael Jackson seven years from now, and I undoubtably think he will ALWAYS be remembered. He's apart of not only music history, but history itself.

  38. 38

Re: teabaggy – Your retarded. How can his career have been "over" if he had four number one albums (Bad; Dangerous; HIStory; Invincible) and SEVEN NUMBER ONE HOT 100 Billboard singles (Bad; I Just Can't Stop Loving You; The Way You Make Me Feel; The Man In The Mirror; Dirty Diana; Black Or White; You Are Not Alone). Bad (1987) has sold over 30 MILLION copies, Dangerous (1991) has sold 32 MILLION copies, HIStory (1995) has sold over 20 MILLION copies and Invincible (2001) has sold over 15 MILLION copies. It's very clear that you don't know what your talking about so shut the fuck up.

  39. 39

I'm very interested, it's just sad he is not here to do it himself… R.I.P.

  40. 40

KING OF POP 4 EVER! More like King of Music

  41. 41

what pisses me off is that Sony wasn't even interested in MJ from "blood on the dance floor" through "Invinsible"..I don't get it! Executors negotiated this? and very quickly I might add..nine months after 6/25/09. How convenient. Does Katherine and the kids have a say in this? They have no power do they? only the Executives of the estate. And not saying that I don't want to hear MJ's unreleased catalog, just saying its very suspicious.

  42. 42

People will always buy and freak out over MJ music! He still has ALLOT of fans , so I am sure this will make allot of money! Hopefully they can get all that debt paid off and bank some good money for those babies of his!

  43. 43

i hate sony but i love that MJ is still breakin records from the grave.
