Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, the parental units found on the TLC hit show 18 19 and Counting, have had quite a scare with their latest little one, Josie, who has been in the hospital since the moment she was prematurely born. Now that some time has passed, Mama Duggar is finally allowed to hold her baby girl (sort of) and TLC was on hand to record the whole thing!

Any parent in the right mind who has given birth to a preemie that is on the brink of death should know cameras are the last thing that baby needs! Its way too much stimulation, how dare they use this baby as one of there many money makers.
I wouldn't call them normal, but they definitely don't seem to be as big of publicity whores as the Gosselins and seem to be genuinely nice people, even if they are a little strange. That being said, they need to think about making Josie their last child. Medical problems are only going to get worse after this one.

It's not my place to judge them for having so many children. I watch the show, and they are a loving family. The children appear to be intelligent, musically gifted, cooperative and friendly. The Gosselins could take a page from the Duggar's notebook on how to raise a large family without having to yell and scream every two minutes.
There is absolutely NOTHING normal about this family. The father is a fucking creepy douche bag and the mother makes all the older kids raise the kids that slide right outta her.. THAT IS NOT NORMAL. I had a baby at 24 weeks also last year and due to complications, my baby died and no one cared enough to write an article about it. This is stupid and irresponsible. After 18 kids, did she really think nothing was going to happen if she got pregnant again?

She's 44! She's not terribly old. This baby was born premature because of gallstones and pre-e, it had nothing to do with her age or how many children she has had. I don't think she should have so many children since I couldn't imagine getting one on one time with that many children. Just think, if she had a one on one day with a different child every day, it would take 19 days to get through them all. It would be sad to have to wait 20 days to be able to spend time alone with your mother when you are just a child.

My daughter was over 3 months premature and has survived with alot of medical issues…she was in the NICU for 6 months…second longest stay there…i have since had surgery so this will never happen again…it was such a hard time for us…my daughter is visually impaired and hearing impaired and more things too but she is a very happy baby which is fantastic…they did not think she would make it at all…she was 1 pound 14 ounces…now is 29 pounds almost 2…it upsets me to think that they are going through all this WITH CAMERAS in the NICU which i think is very wrong…they should just be taking pictures or videos themselves and using that footage…we almost lost our daughter hundreds of times in the NICU and for what we went through i think they are doing this so wrong…i hope the baby will be okay but i think they really need to stop…its ridiculous…chelsea was 25 weeks and fought so very hard to be here…the way they are talking on the show it seems like its nothing…it is VERY HARD dont let them fool you into thinking its an easy ride because its not…i really do hope that they do really think about the kids and just stop before it gets worse

I do not agree with the fact that the older children take care of the younger ones. I think that is crap. You don't have kids so your other kids can raise them. I think there might be something wrong with two of the girls Joy Anna and Jill, they seem a tad bit on the weird side and slow.
But I do believe that their family values are true and they try their hardest to make a happy home for their family.

After shooting out 19 kids you start having complications because your body does not have enough time to heal itself. Right after she has a baby 2 months later she pregnant again.
