Gabourey Sidibe, Don't You Lose A Pound!

Unless YOU want to, girl! Which you probably should do for health reasons.
But big, small, short, tall - we don't care what size you are, bb, always just be yourself!
Gabourey Sidibe has been getting a lot of negative feedback from critics and shock-jocks about her weight and size. Like any good mother would, the Precious actress' mama had a few words to share with the world regarding her daughter's size. She said:
“The truth is Gabourey would like to lose some weight but the reality is that she would not have gotten the role of Precious if she had not been heavy. As her mom I would like to see my daughter healthy but if she didn’t lose weight that’s not a problem either – it runs in our family."
And sometimes, you just can't fight the genes! As long as she is healthy, vital, and above all, happy, we don't care how much weight she gains or loses!

Girl is a walking advertisement for a heart attack. This is just too fucking sick!! Look at the size of her! Fat and Ugly
i like her.
Thank you Perez! Seriously, I am sick of negativity towards fat people.
I used to be chubby, not even overweight, and I got teased in school.
Then, suddenly my eating disorder developed. And that was worse than getting teased.
I bet I would have been happier with a few extra pounds then with this hellish disorder I have.
So again, thank you.
One should only lose weight for health reasons only.
Not to 'look pretty'.
Because guys do find her attractive. Not all beauty fits in a size 3.
Re: Ebonyhalo – Just because her fat is on the outside doesn't mean she is at any higher risk for a heart attack. Skinny people who eat fast food and junk all the time are just as likely to get the same obesity diseases and disorders as the ones who are actually obese.
Go read a book and quit being so damn ignorant.
Excuse me! I am so sick of people raggin on her, focus on her job! How good was she in that movie???
And she will lose weight in time, if it isn't seriously affected her health we should be adding unneccessary pressure or she'll end up like Oprah, a yoyo dieter! let her do it when she's ready!
and whilst obesity may not be genetic, it comes from the food practices in your family! if they eat a lot of shit, you are more likely to eat a lot of shit yourself. That is where it can be seen as genetic, however it is really a bad family trait.
Leave her alone is my point anyways!
She may lose weight but she will still look like a walking turd.
VERY UGLY AND VERY FAT!
People:
Obesity can be genetic. Not every overweight person eats 5 burgers and drinks 8 2-Liter sodas everyday. Coming from a person who lost 50 pounds, I was told by my doctor of 15 years that my weight loss wasn't going smoothly because I didn't EAT ENOUGH TIMES A DAY! It's presumptive simpletons like some of you who add to the stereotype. Obesity can be caused by more than gorging and unhealthy living. Have you ever heard of Thyroid issues? How about other issues?
I do applaud Gabby for having a positive self-worth regardless of her size. The issue isn't her reluctance to lose weight, it's the issue of her accepting herself as who she is BEFORE she changes. Losing weight takes a mind, body and soul commitment and not PRESSURE from unknown sources hiding behind loopy ass screennames. As sskiles said, you can lose a few and still be a big girl. It's been said by countless doctors, losing just 10% of your body weight makes a difference.
But either way, respect the fact she's not out here bashing herself and moping. She's beautiful and she's Gabby. We're not her…so don't judge her.
Re: Ebonyhalo – Believe me, that's the assumption, but I know and am related to several average size Americans who have high cholesterol, high blood pressure & diabetes. I have a best friend right now who's 6'1, 180 and is on medication for high cholesterol. He was a walking advertisement for a heart attack. Soooo, should HE go lose weight? Is he fucking sick for being sick? Remember everyone, watch what you say about people because Karma is very real…
oH PUHLEasE… Obesity may run in families but usually so do crappy food choices and emotional eating.
And, Perez, I can't believe you're putting a stamp on fat on this one. You critique Mushy and any other 10 min of fame celeb for weight gain. And, this time you're taming your words so you won't offend? Howard crossed a line… but was he really telling a lie? She'll be lucky if she finds a string of parts written for obese girls. They don't exist.
Perez Hilton is such a hypocrite. Why is it ok for this actress but not for others like Micha Barton and Mariah Carey? nobody that size is healthy and you're all for it. but MC puts on a few and she's MOOriah??? how does that make any sense whatsoever?
How can you be this size and be healthy? It's just BS! To date I have lost 45kg or 99 pounds and I feel great. I was half her size at my biggest and wasn't happy. I honestly don't believe she is happy being this large.
That level of obesity does can not be attributed to genetics. That is gross over eating and severe lack of excercising. I love her, and I think she is talented, but baby girl can barely walk, and yes Gabourey Sidibe, you must lose at least 100 lbs
"…if she didn’t lose weight that’s not a problem either – it runs in our family"
Uh, mom, it is a problem. A big one that can and probably will kill your daughter if she doesn't lose weight.
"It runs in our family." Yes, probably the overeating of junk food and not getting any exercise - bad habits that Gabourey learned as a child from her older relatives.
As for genes, having one copy of the obesity gene results in being only 3 lbs heavier, two copies means 8 lbs and it can be trumped with eating right and getting exercise. It does not cause people to be 50+ lbs over the upper limit for normal weight.
I would never be mean or cruel to someone because of their weight, but I have to agree that she needs to lose some for her health. But really people, there's a little thing called "tact" and you need to get some.
