Osmonds Cancel Sin City Shows

Understandable.
Though she gave it her best effort to return to the stage, Marie Osmond and her brother Donny announced today that the remaining dates of their Las Vegas show have been cancelled. Her rep explained:
"She needs to spend more time with her family. She's still processing everything and it's really rough on her."
We're sure.
Take all the time you need, bb! The fans will still be there when you are ready.

It was pretty lame of them to get back on stage the day after her "adoptive" son (I say that because she has made that fact very clear!) was buried. Also, maybe people stopped buying tickets to their shows (out of disgust that "the show must go on" attitude was a higher priority than caring for the remaining children at home), so it wasn't worth their time anymore.
They probably canceled the shows due to less ticket sales. A lot of people can't understand how "the show must go on" after such a tragedy. Also, if the gay rumors are true and her son killed himself because his family wouldn't accept it, then it's totally disgusting and so are they.
You shouldn't be so nice to them Perez, Maria sent her son to gay rehab, her religion would not allow him to attend the same church as his family. I've read where he committed suicide because he couldn't deal with being gay. Her other daughter is a lesbian, how long before she jumps out of a building?
I used to like the Osmonds but after the Mormons paid to repeal gay marriage in California, I'm through with all of them.

How very normal of her. It must be devastating to lose a child in that way, she might need to think about how much time she is investing in her children. I know she probably needs to make money to support her family, but really? Going back to your "job" a day or two after your child jumps of a building…um.

Marie and her family were EXTREMELY supportive of her son, and his drug addictions. It is only speculation that he was gay, and if he was, Marie has a lesbian daughter, and is quite vocal about her support of her daughter and Gay/Lesbian rights!
Let's all be supportive of a family that is dealing with tragedy.

Obviously, she didn't like the backlash she was getting for being a selfish narcissist who didn't care about the son her stupid "faith" drove to suicide enough to cancel her cheesy Vegas show. The bad press made her do what her absent conscience didn't.

i totally understand how she feels. after my sister passed away (2 years ago this month) i quit my second job. grieving took so much out of me that it was physically impossible to drag myself to my second job. so i quit after only 1 day back after her funeral. i would have probably quit my main job too if i could have afforded it.
i just had so much shit going on in my head and heart that i was the walking wounded and existed as just a zombie on auto-pilot for the first 8 months after she died.
i feel terrible for the family.
I'm really sorry for what happened to her son, but what mother would go back to work the next day after burying their son the day before? that's just weird to me. It just makes me think that she doesn't give a crap that her son killed himself. She could have at least waited a month or two before going back to work.

Marie is so very sad that she goes to work, inconsolably of course, the next day after her child's funeral, (yeah, we got the memo, bb, he wasn't really yours). Her "grief" makes her look 15-20 years older than her older brother.
Of course they need time! They look amazing! Poor Marie!
Marie is going through the hardest thing on earth, no parant shoud ever have to lose a child! God Bless her! I know she will be ok, it will take time and family to get through this!

She took two weeks off after his death and before the funeral.
The fact is that 125 people work on that show - many getting paid per show (dancers, tech crews, musicians, etc). They depend on the show to feed their families. There's no way Marie could take a month or two, unless she doesn't mind dozens of people going without pay for that long. Also, it's actually very common for grieving mothers to return to work quickly as a coping mechanism. Often, however, they find themselves unable to continue as the situation fully sinks in. I assume this is happening to Marie now, which means she's going through a horrid time right now. Those criticizing her or her church obviously have psychological issues and lack all compassion.

One last time.. everyone associated with Marie's son says wholeheartedly that he wasn't gay. Her daughter is and is close with her Mom. There's absolutely no way Marie, who sticks up for her daughters rights, wouldn't accept her son even if he was gay. Which he wasn't.

Anyway, if you think Marie has spent the last week reading web comments, you'd obviously believe anything…. oh wait, you do believe anything. In reality, she's been getting flooded with support from fans, her family and friends. I'm sure she's not worried about Perez Hilton comments - even if she had the time or energy during her grief to read them.

She follows her heart first, religion second….But I guess most people can't stand those of us who choose optimism and hope over cynacism and hate, which is what most of these comments are filled with. WTF has GOD done to her face?
She should really take some time to think about what drove her son to kill himself. If he was in fact gay, then the shame and his blood is on her hands for not embracing him and offering unconditional love. She forced him to live in an environment that taught him that he was less than and not normal. I know this has changed the way I will view Marie and all of the Osmands for the rest of my life.

It's for the best. Returning to the stage so soon after this kind of tragedy looked tacky…..but not as tacky has having "Entertainment Tonight" at the funeral. Something's not adding up here and I think we all know what it is.
Yeah, your kid committed suicide because of your religion's hateful oppression and you are back on stage three days later singing and dancing. Now the ticket sales are in the toilet and you use your kid's suicide as a convenient excuse. classic! time to do some good in your son's name marie. end mormon hate! NOW!

I know a few BAC like Marie who always live in denial. She tried to do that by going back so soon on stage. Make no mistake, it was the Osmond's "culture" that contributed to her son's demise. Remember, religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the unknown without help. In this case, religion didn't help and professional non medical intervention from psychologists maybe could've helped. I wouldnt be surprised if Marie's son was on antidepresssants which typically have suicide as a side effect in people normally not predisposed to suicide.
