Lindsay Texts Dad In The Hospital
Lindsay Lohan's father Michael Lohan was rushed to the hospital earlier this week after suffering a mild heart attack.
Yesterday, he was scheduled to undergo an angioplasty to unblock his clogged arteries, but America's favorite dad was able to muster up the strength to talk to the press about his recent ordeal.
Papa Lohan explains:
“The surgeons are hoping this will work but if it does not then I may well have to get an immediate by-pass operation. This is all down to stress and living a certain lifestyle when I was young stockbroker in New York.
The recent court case with my ex-fiancee Erin Mueller has also caused me a lot of stress too recently as I just wanted to settle the whole thing and for us both to move on with our lives."
As for Lindsay and his other children, they have been in touch according to Michael:
“I got a text message from Lindsay which read: ‘OMG. Hope you are okay’ and my other kids have all been in contact with me too. My girlfriend Kate Major slept here with me overnight and my spirits have been lifted by the support from both my family and friends.
I’ve been through a lot in my life, been to jail, various court cases, even drove my Ferrari over a cliff once, so, it’s going to take a lot more than this to finish me off! Hopefully, the procedure will go well today, and I expect Dina and the kids to come and visit me later today.”
Oh, we're so sure! We don't see the Lohans having a big, happy family reunion — heart attack or not!

For some reason I like Michael Lohan & the Lohan Clan; I'm amazed at how DYSFUNCTIONAL their entire family is and they just keep on going…no shame-no regrets…

Just tell Miss Lohan and her mother that a hospital is a place where they keep lots of pills and they'll never leave. I can see Lindsay dragging every intern on the floor into a supply room and coming out with something.
With a Dad like this, no wonder why Lindsay is a mess. She needs to do it on her own.
Oh I don't know, he seems like a nice dad! HE REALLY reminds me of my dad, who is a co-dependent narcissist, (if you google this, they unfortunately have harmful parenting skills but it's always coming from a place of wanting to HELP their child) I NOW have a great relationship with my dad at 41 vs. in my 20's! I was a partying WRECK in my 20's and early 30's. I even had a guy say "You're still alive?" to me when I was 25! lol! Scary! Now that I understand he's got this issue, narcissism isn't fixable and comes from a parent and affects the person between ages 5- 7 years old. But how he really reminds me of my dad is that he's a very open and optimistic guy who clearly loves his family. Lindsay will come to realize she just has to treat her dad like someone who has a disease because that harmful part of his personality won't change, but over-all he's a GOOD GUY, and I wish him well.

Re: JackWad – Well said, thanks. I knew Michael when we were younger and he was narcissistic and VIOLENT then. But he does have a disease and we (I) need to forgive. Bottom line is that he does love his family. He s just really f-ked up.

The violence part must be hard to forgive, but realizing violence comes from anger, and anger is secondary emotion usually coming from being being hurt, it can put a different spin on it, at least in the forgiving part. Hopefully Michael has had some healing. My dad was VERY critical about my looks (if I gained weight) and being "too funny" and other stuff that is very devastating to ESPECIALLY a young girl (they say between 10-20 years old is when the devastation on ego happens because the daughter is discovering their identity.) later I realized that the "help" he always offered (and STILL offers) is what he believes is TRUE HELP AND LOVE and when he upsets me I just have to treat him with kid gloves and remember his sickness, and that his mom is fucked up! (my dad's mom is 94 and just remarried, and is a cold grandmother that is a narcissist that hates fat and ugly people, and my dad used to be chubby as a kid with a big birth mark on his face he had removed, so my mom and I are pretty sure she "withheld" love from him!) So considering what HE'S BEEN THROUGH I'm able to have an awesome relationship with him now and he's happier too. It's just getting right within ourselves that's the challenge. I know this is corny but it helps to find a pic of yourself at "that age" that it all happened and tell her the things you needed or should have heard!

I'm not so sure his public disclosure of her private information, cheating on her mom or generally denying her a childhood are so easily forgivable, no matter what psychological condition he has. It sounds like she spent what should have been halcoyn and commitment-free childhood years working extremely hard to make everyone happy, only to find everyone still miserable and her family in worse condition than before her breakout in 2004-6, that she's still trying to make up for lost time by indulging her fantasies in adult-type ways (e.g. vacillating b/t fashion, DJing, acting, partying and shirking the occasional responsibility), and generally escaping the way things turned out. But yeah, I agree that there is something strangely compelling about the Lohans. Say what you want, their determination and optimism in the face of turbulance and international media backlash is a testament to the human spirit.

I agree, I think the problem with LIndsay Lohan is more childhood trauma and a mental disorder more than drug usage. I also think Mike is very ill as well, possibly Dina. Do you know Dina, Lindsay as well and what they are really like? I'm also interested in Ali as she says very little publicly since 2008. Right now she seems good but is she showing any signs that she'll exhibit any of Lindsay's types of behavioral issues? FWIW, Michael is Lindsay's dad, I hope that he is able to better control his impulses and that all of his children learn how to deal with a father that has MIchael's issues as effectively as possible.
