    Nice hat!

    RIP!

Dragnet? Really? maybe two episodes. How about Davey Crockett (as you said) and Daniel Boone (159 episodes)!

Complications of OLD AGE???? Does that sound odd to anyone else to say. I'd get it if he were 104 or something, but he was 85 I mean isn't everything once you get older have something to do with age, but wouldn't it be more respectful to say complication of a heart issue. I don't know I just think that sounds odd I don't hear that often.

rest in peace! at least he lived a long life~

LOL Boiler you were close. According to IMDB he only did one episode. Way to research, Perez (ghostwriter)! How about Daniel Boone, Old Yeller, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington? Something he was actually known for, ya know?

I get that our generation is largely unfamiliar with most of his body of work, but when you type things that are so largely ignorant of his success it just makes the entire sentiment and the condolences you pass along seem fake.

Acknowledging the passing of such a large part of television history is certainly the right thing to do as an entertainment blogger, even if you aren't familiar with him, but please spend the required twenty seconds learning a bit more about someone before you put up a half assed tribute.

Met him once at his winery in Los Olivos. Such a gentleman, he even opened my car door for me.

Really , how does one die of complications of old age ? Give the man some dignity - he really starred in Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone - let's not forget Old Yeller ( a couple of Dragnet episodes doesn't count for being "known" ). Gimmie a break !
