Pharmacist Stopped Filling Brittany Murphy's Pain Killer Prescriptions

Shady shady shady!

A pharmacist has come forward and revealed that he cut off Brittany Murphy, her husband Simon Monjack, and her mother Sharon, just months before the actress's death because he suspected they were filling pain killer prescriptions at multiple drug stores!!

Eddie Bubar, of Eddie's Pharmacy in El Lay, filled over 100 prescriptions of vicodin, hydrocodone, and klonopin for Brittany from January 2008-August 2009. The actress apparently used various aliases, including Lola Manilow Murphy, Kathelyn Moore, Trevor Williams, and Faith Gosselin!

HOLY SHIZ! That is A LOT of painkillers in a year and a half!

Bubar finally suspected something was up and he stopped filling the prescriptions. He says:

"We thought there was going to be an accident there."

We unfortunately know that Bubar was right in the end.

So sad.

People need to realize that prescription pills can be dangerous and should not be taken unless absolutely necessary!

Everyone on earth knew this girl was a druggie

She chose this life, and she chose her demise

This is no ones fault but her own

(with the assistance of family members who were enablers, and that seems to be common these days)

The sad thing is that people who really need these drugs are going to get a lot of hassle and trouble because of people like Murphy

  2. 2

    Something Was Totally Up!

  3. 3

O' WHATEVER, like this is SHOCKING!! Let the girl R.I.P. for crying out loud!!

  4. 4

Her autopsy didn't reveal what you're claiming here.

  5. 5

patients don't write in their own names and call in their own prescriptions without physician approval

  6. 6

    House of pill heads.

  7. 7

A book written about Eminem mentions Britney and her vicuprofen and her "Lola" alias. Guess she has been doing this for many, many years

  8. 8

Its no ones business that she struggled with an addiction. I wish the media would just let her rest in peace.

  9. 9

El Lay… its soo much easier to type LA you asshole!

  10. 10

Why do vicodin and hydrocodone?? Oxycontin is so much better…

  11. 11

Klonopin is not a "pain killer". It is used for seizure and panic disorders.

  12. 12

If she took 8 pills a day thats 240 a month, DO THE MATH. That is not very many for some one with health issues. I take 4 metformin and 2 injections a day for my diabetes. I take 6 50mg metoprolol a day for my heart instead of 1 and 1/2 100mg because I dont like to cut them in half. I take 2 hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) a day and 4 methotrexate a week for arthritis. Then there is 2 lisinopril a day, 1 simvastatin a day, 1 hydrochlorathiazide a day.
    Add those up FATBOY!!!

  13. 13

Oh yeah I also take asprin, calsium, and fiber plus every 2 weeks inject Humira

  14. 14

She was so hot….what a shame.

  15. 15

bullshit. not even bs - just bullshit. she did not die of a drugs overdose, there is no proof the aliases belonged to her, the guy could have spoken up earlier but didnt - that seems shady if anything. unless your now accusing her mother of murder like you did her husband you dont have a leg to stand on. this story is just cruel and sick gossip. of course thats your speciality.

  16. 16

is it me or does perez write more fake stuff or she had a fucked up life

  17. 17

Something is UP with this ole Eddie dude.. WHY is he waiting until NOW to come out with all this.. And if SO it was HIS obligation as a LICENSED drug deal to CALL HER DOCTOR and express his thoughts and or fears. This prick sounds like he was paid by some scummy tabloid and is saying shit he thinks people want to hear. FUCK OFF EDDIE. TOO LITTLE TOO LATE ass monkey

  18. 18

klonopin? thats not for pain thats for anxiety and bipolar mania

  19. 19

This proves Eddie can't be trusted. If he were my pharmacist, I'd dump him. He's got a big mouth.

  20. 20

Don't understand why her mom and husband didn't get her to a hospital.

  21. 21

    loser

  22. 22

I don't understand how Bubar could've processed all of these prescriptions and billed it to insurance under ALL THOSE FICTITIOUS NAMES. Even if BM paid in cash, Bubar should've recognized her before, say, the 100th time filling a 'script, right? I'm glad he cut her off eventually, but there should've been more scrutiny when he agreed to dispense again and again and again. The saddest part is that I bet there're a BUNCH of other celebrities, and non-celebrities that fill their meds in abundance like this… Sad.

OH, AND WHAT DOUCHEBAG PRESCRIBER WROTE ALL THOSE SCRIPTS?!

  23. 23

If that's the truth then the pharmacist, as a licensed professional, had a duty to at least notify the authorities. If there was funny business going on they would have intervened (arrested her) and things may have turned out different. He's a douche bag for not looking out for the interests of his patients and the public. As a nurse in NY if I didn't report such suspicions I could have my license revoked.

  24. 24

Re: Chicken Love – Opiate addiction can be very well hidden, even from people one lives with. If true, The mother may have had suspicions or just thought it wasn't that bad, as parents often don't want to accept the truths of addiction. The significant other usually knows but may think they are helping by monitoring their use or encourages use so that the addicted partner is then more dependent on them. Things look very different when inside these families. Also, Rx abuse if often minimized by loved ones, thinking that drug addicts are on the streets shooting up. Sorry for the rant, I'm a nurse and worked in addiction medicine for several years, very passionate about the topic.

  25. 25

The "people" that need to realize the dangers of these drugs are the medical personnel prescribing them! People go in with pain and aren't warned of the dangers, not only that but the doctors need to learn more about treatment of addiction rather than just writing another RX because it's easier (or lines their pockets more) to just write an RX and get the "addict", as all of you in glass houses have so eloquently put it, out of their office. Education and compassion is the key here, not judgement.

  26. 26

    R.I.P ❤✟❤

  27. 27

I don't know how the pharmacist could've came out and said that about her. Its is against HIPPA law to do that. He could lose his license.

  28. 28

First of all I find all this very suspect since she wasn't found to have all this in her system upon her toxicology results on autopsy. Second of all she was a diabetic who was on Topamax which has a very big side effect of weight loss, and on top off that she was anemic. Hmm, now that did not say she had high opiate levels in her system or that she was taking suboxone either so I find all of this very strange. I mean it is all possible that she was doing all these things at some point in her life, but she must have been doing them in reasonable amounts to not have been in withdrawal on her death bed. I would think that she would have been smart enough if she wanted to get clean she would have not just suffered in bed like she did either, she could have gone to lovely rehab somewhere so I tend to think a lot of this story is crap. She was a good actress, and it is damn shame she died. I miss her. I was always hoping to see her do great things. It is sad that this is never going to happen though. RIP Brittany.

  29. 29

This story reeks of "not true". What was he? A back-alley pharmacist? Where were the call-ins for doctor's approval? Why did he let this happen even twice, much less 100 times?

  30. 30

So what's the fat husband's explanation for this??? He denies everything, despite hard evidence proving that he and his wife are drug addicts, but it's deny deny deny. Maybe he would care to comment, the next time he announces a new scam foundation set up for him to steal people's money ha ha ha.

    31

No matter what the autopsy found she died of drug use/overuse.

  32. 32

Re: Dr. Cornelia J. Dogbarker PhD rescinded – Wow. For once I totally agree with You!

  33. 33

You know this site is hurtin' when you can find stories like this one in legitimate newspapers before you can read it here.
Worry about your "core business" Mario, not being some second rate concert promoter or author.

  34. 34

Hasn't anyone come to the conclusion that maybe her mother is a drug addict as well? IMO she was filling all of these hundreds of scripts for her daughter as was Monjack, under multiple aliases. I get that people know she is grieving but everyone wants to attack him (which i support) I just think some of the attack ought to be put onto her. It's like he is protecting her. And in turn she is not brutalizing him to the media. I think this is very suspect, as I have known people in this type of situation, and the parents were just as raging addicts as their sons or daughters were. Hell some of them were worse off than their kids, and played the card of grieving parent when in fact they were a main enabler. Just sayin…

  35. 35

Right… Her autopsy sounds like she passed away from pnuemonia.. Maybe over the counter meds might have helped to advance it, who knows. SHE IS STILL DEAD. Not coming back so leave her alone man…RIP

  36. 36

Leave the poor girl in peace! There was nothing in her autopsy reports to indicate that she was a drug addict, or that it was what killed her. Perez just can't face the fact that he was wrong about her and what actually killed her. What an asshole.

  37. 37

Re: lemonz1769 – When your loved one is obviously ill (as in pneumonia) why would you just put them to bed. I would hope if I were that sick that someone would be watching out for me.

  38. 38

BM surely had a drug problem, BUT she was allowed and enabled to die by that scumbag husband and needy, sh!t for brains, mommy dearest. I don't care if she had a drug problem, she should have been helped by those that supposedly loved her. The 3 of them salivated when the manilla envelope arrived on Fridays. Simon Scumbag and Mommy Dearest are CREEPLE PEOPLE!

    39

She might've not died from a drug overdose, but the drug wrecked havoc with her body weakening it to the point where her illness proved to be fatal.

    40

the pharmacist was too late. Why did he even fill so many?

  41. 41

Vicodin and Hydrocodone are the same drug.

  42. 42

Let her rest in peace! Stop trying to get attention from the dead, you desperate, fat, girlie-man!!!!

  43. 43

Why the hell do these people do drugs FOR in the first place? What do they need an escape from? Fame? Try not having enough money for dental care or food. Idiots!

  44. 44

It's a shame about Brittany and Corey but enough already. They didn't get this much attention when they were alive.

  45. 45

How could he not know sooner … whose been coming up to him with these prescriptions??? if it was Britney with different costumes, then that is super lame … suspect anything and call the doctor to confirm … plus records should ring up about other visits to other pharmacies … and fake names should've never been in the database … weird … i know some systems will say if there is an unusually high amount of refills

  46. 46

Let them OD if that's what they want. Again, what do they have to feel bad about? Limos and mansions?

  47. 47

I feel that this is a tragedy. Any death is a tragedy. However everyone seems to want to critisize someone for somethin they do or don't do. Everyone has problems and everyone has issues but does anyone really take responsability for their self? Comments about Perez writing crap and this or that, well then what are you doing on the site? Not to mention he writes what he finds out and his oppinion on what he finds out there on the subject. I hope Brittany can rest in peace!

  48. 48

Re: kifferslady – No they're not, hydrocone is lorcet.

  49. 49

    Re: mrscanada – really!

  50. 50

Re: le.petit.monstre.de.gagaRe: lopezfanyeah – I thought pharmacies had your social when you have rx filled. Even if she filled it at different pharmacies wouldn't all of the medications have shown up?

  51. 51

Re: Chicken Love – Hydrocodone is the generic for Lortab. Maybe it is Loracet there, but it is a generic form of Lortab here.

  52. 52

Re: Chicken Love – The last post of yours is what I have been wondering. There has to be a legit social for each alias so how did they do this unless they used other people with their SSNs to fill them.

  53. 53

Re: #Cejers – hydrocodone is generic vicodin.

  54. 54

SO WHY IS THIS GUY COMING FORTH NOW?? THIS IS BULLSHIT AND I'LL NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING BUT THAT YOU FUCKING BULLIED HER TO DEATH PERVEZ! SHE HAS LEGITIMATE HEALTH PROBLEMS AND YOU CAN GET PRESCRIBED THAT AMOUNT OF MEDS LEGITIMATELY AND TAKE THEM AS PRESCRIBED. JUST B/C YOU TAKE PAIN MEDICINE DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE ADDICTED TO IT. MANY MANY CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS TAKE PAIN MEDS DAILY TO FUNCTION, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND, LIKE THE LOSER FRIENDS OF YOURS! SO DON'T KNOCK THE MEDS ASSHOLE, PEOPLE NEED THEM. JUST B/C YOUR LADY BLAH BLAH IS A PROUD JUNKIE WITH MAJOR TRACK MARKS, YOU FEEL THE NEED TO DEFLECT THE ATTENTION ONTO OTHERS. LIKE PEOPLE YOU MIGHT AS WELL HAVE MURDERED YOURSELF WITH ALL YOUR BULLYING! NOW FIND ANOTHER TARGET TO BULLY TO DEATH!!!

  55. 55

    Re: Cheapmetaphor – TOTALLY AGREE!!!!

  56. 56

Re: lemonz1769 – IF YOU ARE A NURSE THAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT ADDICTION THEN YOU WOULD ALSO KNOW THAT CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS WHO TAKE THEIR MEDS AS PRESCRIBED RARELY GET ADDICTED(LESS THAN 2%). DEPENDENT IS WHAT THEY ARE, LIKE SOMEONE WHO NEEDS INSULIN FOR DIABETES. GUESS THEY ARE "ADDICTED" TOO? ITS ALL THESE LOSERS OUT THERE THAT TAKE MORE THAN PRESCRIBED AND ARE ADDICTS THAT FUCK IT UP FOR THOSE OUT THERE THAT NEED REAL HELP. ALL YOU LITTLE FUCKERS STEALING MEDS FROM YOUR PARENTS ARE MAKING IT HARDER FOR THOSE WHO DO HAVE CHRONIC PAIN TO GET THEIR MEDS!!! HECK, EVEN PEOPLE WITH CANCER CAN'T GET PAIN MEDS B/C OF THIS ADDICTION MYTH!!!
