The long-running NBC daytime soap Days of our Lives has been picked up for its 45th season!

Damn!

Networks have been canceling soaps left and right, but Days has managed to keep a consistent viewership, being the #2 soap of the 2009-10 season and averaging 3.3 million viewers!

Good job, guys!

My mom would watch it which meant I watched it. I think I stopped around the age of 27. I still ask my mom who still watches whats going on every now & again. As soon as John Black left, that's when I left too. He was SOOOOOO sexy!!! I appreciated how grubby & cheezy the show was & probably still is.

      My mom used to make me watch Soap Operas as a kid, and I HATED it!!!!!! The only time I ever wanted to watch was when Marlena was possessed by the devil, and I was 11 years old. Now, if I even HEAR the theme song to Days of our Lives, I want to scream! I hate soap operas!!! Its like a requirement that you have to be a TERRIBLE actor to be on a soap! lol

      DAYS has very good acting from time to time. I would much rather watch that than all this american idol horseshit and jersey shore crap that's on tv now.

      My mother and sister were lamenting that this iconic soap was about to be pulled from the air. With all the other legionary "stories" tossed aside (resently), we weren't surprised about Day's demise? So Perez this is good news!! No doubt there will be a year by year evaluation considering it's future existence…

      Yay!!! My best friend got me hooked on this show 3-4 years ago; I apparently missed most the really far-fetched story lines…it's gotten pretty good the past couple of years. Don't know what I'd do without my Days!

      ive been watching DOOL since i was little. its not that its good, its just addicting. you really do get engrossed in these storylines!! haha yay for renewal! :)

      I quit watching Days for about a year when Marlena was possessed!! lol. A couple years ago I picked it back up. I love Vivian and Victor how they are with each other. I love that Carly is back. I can't stand Hope. Right now they are making Sami look like a moron! :-(

      I keep wondering when they are going to say that Grandma Horton died.. because she died in real life and they haven't put it in the script yet. :-(

      The show's definitely picked up over the last 2 years, both in writing and acting. It's like it was back in the day when you couldn't wait to see the next episode! Congrats!

      Awesome. My mom was addicted to the Soaps when I was a young child… I remember kind of liking "Young and Restless"… hadn't watched anything for years until a co-worker said she likes Days… started watching (at work… ha!).. and am fascinated.. not enough to HAVE to catch every episode… typical story lines.. yet it works.. and SOME actors/actresses are just FAB!

      Bring back Marlena! Anything involving Marlena = ratings!!

      Alice Horton's death will be written in this upcoming May, and lots and lots of former characters are returning to say goodbye: Jennifer, Melissa, Laura, Mike, Carrie, Kayla, Kim, Shane, Lucas, Marie… DAYS is not going out without a fight!

      My mom watched that show as a teenager, and continues to watch it today.
      no wonder when she had me at age 18, she named me after Kayla, because she was her favorite character. =]

      They just added a new viewer —> ME! :D the whole shooting thing with Melanie and everything is the hot stuff, do that and I'll come watching … definitely IMPRESSED by Day's acting because for SOAPS, this is not bad! nor corny! … and omg Passions people?!? I didn't even know that show ended … anyways they better stay because I can't stand the other soaps, General Hospital is getting super weird and bad …
