I have never seen a U2 fan. I have never seen anyone with a U2 shirt or been around someone's house that has a f—ing U2 record. Where do their fans f—ing come from? Where are they? I reckon they buy them. With all the money they've made, they just bought a load of people and every time they do a gig they get a shovel and pile them into their gigs to make them look good.

Maybe it doesn't matter because I'm not a celebrity, but I've never met a U2 fan either. I'm in my early 20s and I don't know a single person who currently enjoys or formerly enjoyed U2's music.

I love U2 (my favorite ) and Oasis. I've seen them both live and U2 is by far the best live act. Oasis sounded good but were boring. I prefer U2's older shows when the stage was barebones but every tour has been excellent. Listen to the live recordings on "Under a Blood Red Sky" and see how excellent U2 is, and watch the video. A lot of people that say U2 sucks just say that because they are so popular. I knew someone who told me HATED them. He knew I loved them. Then I found a bunch of U2's CDs in his collection lol.

A Gallagher brother making good friends again, I see. I happen to think U2 has always been overated, but they came along at a time when there was no one new doing rock, and people were really desperate. The fact remains, though, that they do have their legion fans, and they do fill arenas, so knocking them fulfills what purpose? Gallagher getting his verbal rocks off? Like U2's music or not, a musician who is a decent human being should respect other musicians and their resultant craft and hard won careers.
U2 fans are much older than this tunnel-visioned mouthpiece. It's no wonder he hasn't met them. They're in the boardrooms, classrooms etc. and many have raised their families. That wasn't a particularly bright statement; he needs to think farther than his nose, or in his case, his current buddies and age demographic.
so after reading this yesterday (perezhilton.com is late as usual), i asked the 9 of my friends that happened to be signed onto yahho at the time if they like U2. two said they didn't, but every person i asked knew who u2 was. then i asked them if they like oasis. 1 person did, another person at least knew who they were, 6 of the others only knew who i was talking about if i said "they were the band that had the wonderwall song" and the last person hadn't even heard wonderwall. this jackass is stupid. i know oasis was once a huge band and there are a ton of fans out there, but my point is that just as much as there may be people who don't like u2 out there, there are just as many who don't like oasis. this sounds like the bitter ranting of a man who wishes his band had the success that u2 does.

I am gobsmacked at some comments on this site. PEOPLE Oasis had a couple of good songs and that's it, U2 have been around since I can remember and have at least 20 great songs. Not to mention they have a zillion fans, and a bit of humbleness, which these Oasis douchebags clearly lack. I live in the UK and I hate the fxxers, I know they make good music, but they're so rude and so arrogant (especially towards their FANS!, unlike U2) that they deserve no one to defend or praise them - they think themselves better than the Beatles, and they're just a couple of drunk drug addicts - white trash… at least U2 / Bono do things for the world!!

um hi, U2 fan here - aparently this guy has never been to a college campus. He's never seen a U2 record? Well probably not. I mean most people buy CD's or MP3's now. And PS - the best U2 show I ever saw was the four of them with gutars, drums and a mic. I agree that they go a little overboard sometimes, but that doesn't mean their music is not amazing and that they're not amazing performers. Careful dude, your raging jealously is showing.
