It no longer has to collect dust in the attic! You can buy film for it once again!!!

Polaroid enthusiasts will be happy to know that while they still have to wait for the company to release their new line of instant film cameras, a new company has now made available film for the older models. And it's some good shiz!

In the Netherlands, The Impossible Project is now producing film for SX-70 cameras made in the '70s along with 600-series film for more recent models. Each film pack will allow you to take eight black-and-white images and will cost $21 per pack. The black-and-white will start shipping by the end of this week, while color film won't be available until the summer time.

For the time being, you can only order the film at the company's website, but the company is looking to make it available at some stores soon.

Happy now, camera geeks?

No, because it was hard enough paying 12 dollars for 10 polaroid pictures. 21 dollars for 8 photos is just not realistic for college students…. and a lot of creative individuals.

Ahhhhhh…Color Polaroid film. Pictures with the color accuracy of a pin hole camera. Color accuracy so out of this world it looks like it is from another planet. Color film that makes your loved ones look like they are suffering from radiation burns. Crapstastic pictures that you will instantly know were a waste of time AND money. Film for people who don't have the benefit of sight. Lugging around a Polaroid camera will be so geeky it will come full circle and be hip again AND you'll have something large, heavy and solid to swing at potential muggers and line cutters at Disneyland. Polaroid cameras and film are so wildly artistic and creative because the image represented isn't really about the moment you wanted to capture but is just the random result of a bizarre chemical reaction. It is back and more expensive then ever. Nice!

I do admire the new simple and clean packaging.

Pricey but smart! I lovvvveee Polaroids but when the film gets old the pictures don't come out. I was literally just saying yesterday I wish I'd gotten a newer polaroid camera before they stopped making them. So awesome!

That's ridiculously expensive, especially in this digital world.

Re: meccano – While it's clearly overpriced this is great news for people who are actually CREATIVE. Not just digi-geeks who get boners every time a new megapixel is added. Maybe you felt you never "mastered" the medium and can't get over it. Those of us with vision don't mind the process not being completely controllable.

Good news for celebs who like to take naughty pics! Now maybe they won't get leaked to the internet so easily.
