Michael Moore Talks Health Reform!!

Now that Health Care Reform has passed, we expected Michael Moore to comment sooner rather than letter, and he doesn't disappoint!!

The controversial documentary filmmaker has written this open letter to Republicans:

To My Fellow Citizens, the Republicans:

Thanks to last night's vote, that child of yours who has had asthma since birth will now be covered after suffering for her first nine years as an American child with a pre-existing condition.

Thanks to last night's vote, that 23-year-old of yours who will be hit one day by a drunk driver and spend six months recovering in the hospital will now not go bankrupt because you will be able to keep him on your insurance policy.

Thanks to last night's vote, after your cancer returns for the third time — racking up another $200,000 in costs to keep you alive — your insurance company will have to commit a criminal act if they even think of dropping you from their rolls.

Yes, my Republican friends, even though you have opposed this health care bill, we've made sure it is going to cover you, too, in your time of need. I know you're upset right now. I know you probably think that if you did get wiped out by an illness, or thrown out of your home because of a medical bankruptcy, that you would somehow pull yourself up by your bootstraps and survive. I know that's a comforting story to tell yourself, and if John Wayne were still alive I'm sure he could make that into a movie for you.

But the reality is that these health insurance companies have only one mission: To take as much money from you as they can — and then work like demons to deny you whatever coverage and help they can should you get sick.

So, when you find yourself suddenly broadsided by a life-threatening illness someday, perhaps you'll thank those pinko-socialist, Canadian-loving Democrats and independents for what they did Sunday evening.

If it's any consolation, the thieves who run the health insurance companies will still get to deny coverage to adults with pre-existing conditions for the next four years. They'll also get to cap an individual's annual health care reimbursements for the next four years. And if they break the pre-existing ban that was passed last night, they'll only be fined $100 a day! And, the best part? The law will require all citizens who aren't poor or old to write a check to a private insurance company. It's truly a banner day for these corporations.

So don't feel too bad. We're a long way from universal health care. Over 15 million Americans will still be uncovered — and that means about 15,000 will still lose their lives each year because they won't be able to afford to see a doctor or get an operation. But another 30,000 will live. I hope that's ok with you.

If you don't mind, we're now going to get busy trying to improve upon this bill so that all Americans are covered and so the grubby health insurance companies will be put out of business — because when it comes to helping the sick, no one should ever be allowed to ask the question, "How much money can we save by making this poor bastard suffer?"

Please, my Republican friends, if you can, take a quiet moment away from your AM radio and cable news network this morning and be happy for your country. We're doing better. And we're doing it for you, too.

Yours,
Michael Moore

P.S. I'll have more to say on this tonight, live on CNN, at 9pm ET. I'll be talking with Larry King about the health care bill and where we go from here, considering we still don't have universal health care.

P.P.S. In case you missed these photos in yesterday's NY Times Sunday Magazine… That's the results of seven years of madness. The Iraq War began its 8th year this weekend. How can we remove more of those responsible for this tragedy in November?

Wow.

What do U think?? Is Moore on the mark or just trying to stir some more shiz??

ugh, this guy. used to love him….

  2. 2

Republicans and their aggressive hooligan supporters shouldn't gain access to healthcare.

  3. 3

    Right on!!!

He has more knowledge on the corrupt conditions in American than most citizens. The health care reform is as personal and important to Moore as the people who rewrote the bill.
Moore's voice is nothing but the truth that many Americans do not want to hear…

  5. 5

MM is a douchebag without a single brain cell in his head. He does nothing but spew false liberal propaganda. He needs to get his FACTS straight before spouting his crap. What he fails to mention is the increase in taxes, Obama stomping all over the constitution, and government takeover in monopolies. MM doesn't mind giving up his freedom but I sure as heck do.

  6. 6

    Queen of the Pig People

He is worth millions, why not give some of his own money away, and let me keep what I have worked my ass off for

  7. 7

    Both.

  8. 8

he makes some good points, but we really need to push for something that england, france and canada have when it comes to health coverage, even it means our taxes are gonna have to go up.

    9

To borrow a typically liberal way of speaking - Michael Moore is a big fat liar. He's too stupid to even know what the bill will do and gives the party-line lie to what they think we stupid Americans, like Moore himself, will believe.

  10. chlyn says – reply to this

    10

Well said, Mike. And the only ones who lied and promoted fear on this issue are the Republicans.

  11. 11

WOW. Great letter, and I agree. The bill is good but I really hope we continue to make it better. good job Michael

  12. 12

I am Canadian, and all I can say is it's about fricken time. Congrats you guys and enjoy, Healthcare is a right not a priviledge. And kudos to Michael Moore for standing up for everyones rights!

  13. 13

I agree with Mr. Moore that the issues he points out all needed to be fixed. However, GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE IS NOT THE ANSWER! Remember, what they give you, they can take away…and more importantly control. Those silly little things usually don't mean too much to people who enjoy leaching off the hard work of others anyway. Come on! We're a country of innovators and thinkers. We can do fix these issues without giving up more of our freedoms. And that's not even getting into what they've hidden all through this bill that has nothing to do with our health.

  14. 14

I only agree 100% with Michael Moore. Rent the movie "Sicko" and prepare to be nauseated by it's stats. As for the Republicans, Michael Moore's comments are mild compared to what I've been hearing all week long from right wing-nut commentators. They are rabid with anger, and we should all be worried because they sound potentially dangerous.

Re: Sophia0502 – Why do you want the USA to be like Canada? WE live in the best country in the world…..what's wrong with you?

  17. 17

Michael is a professional shit stirrer, kinda like Perez. Just in a different vein. I think he's great even if I don't always agree with him. At least he has the balls to say what NO ONE in politics is ever unbiased enough to say. The only time any politicos speak up it seems it's because there's a pay off in some way… Because both sides see Michael as a pesky fly, he's kind of appealing to me.

  18. Cid says – reply to this

    18

    Wow, what a freak'n idiot!

  19. 19

He's right on the money about republicans. They are in bed with the healthcare industry and pharmaceutical companies, and want all their money and wealth for the powerful and for themselves. ]

This is not a perfect plan; thanks to the republicans. But I hope in time the bugs will be worked out and we will have something that works for everyone. The CEOs of the healthcare industry should be ashamed of themselves. But they aren't. Nor are the bankers that made millions off the backs of the rest of us, or the wall street fat cats. They are all pathetic human beings.

  20. 20

Of course Moore is on the mark. I had a friend who was denied chemo because his insurance company claimed his cancer had started when he was with a different insurance company. They will do whatever they can to make their numbers look good for their Wall Street investors, and they don't care how many people die in the process.
Obama and the Democratic Congress did right by the American people, but it's only a small step in the right direction. Anyone who says this is "stomping on the Constitution" has seen too much Fox News and read too little history.

  21. 21

OMG where is this obese POS worth a comment…remember this "health care bill" does not even start for 4 years. How many of the people will die that OBAMA suppositly wanted to save?????

  22. 22

LOVE IT. Couldn't have been said any better.

  23. 23

MM knows somethings but as most people in america does not have access to EVERYTHING that is in that bill. Until the final bill is released, and open to the public will i then think about any comments made buy anybody.

  24. 24

Re: blasted – Of course you would be, MM completely exaggerated those stats. They are LIES. Why would you believe Hollywood movies?? His MOVIES are nothing but entertainment. They are not facts. Look it up!

  25. 25

I don't know how i feel anymore, i was against it, then reading this doesn't seem so bad. I have no insurance and pay the rates insurace companies charge. Getting fined for no life insurance and all the details aren't clear to me. 2.5 trillion is alot to pay for and how long is the waiting list going to be to get help if needed. I think the solution would be for all the goverment parties recieving health and dental free for life should share. For each posistion a new pension, idk anymore. All i know is im a squirrell trying to get a nut.

  26. 26

I wish he would just SHUT THE HELL UP sand Go Away!! and Lose some weight FAT ASS!!!

  27. 27

Re: Cid – we are one of the wealthiest countries in the world and we dont take care of our people. it's disgraceful. for too long there's been this mentality that only those who are wealthy and those who have accumulated alot of power and prestige are deserving of certain rights and privelages. it's not right. we are all equal and should be treated as such.

  28. 28

Well said Mr Moore!! :D at least not all americans are stupids!

  29. 29

I work in a hospital and interact with people who don't have health coverage every single day. They have to ask themselves "Should I try to be saved and go in debt for the rest of my life to pay it off, or pray I don't die and try to save the money?" I'll gladly take a pay cut for people who can't afford to get their child or themselves health care.

Re: chlyn – Are you for real?? Everything Obama campaigned on and everything he says the bill will do is demonstrably a lie!! Get off the kool-aid! Stupid people like you are bringing the country down. what an imbecile you are!! And you "Orator", calling Republicans "hooligans" ??? What do you call all the dirty deals they made with our money?? All the back-room deals? Everything they say is a lie and you lock-step "Repulican bad, Democrat good" morons are fools being used and played by them.

  32. 32

OHHH MATES YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. PRAY FOR A REPEAL!

OR…………. ENJOY THE RIDE DOWN HILL!

  33. 33

  34. 34

    Douche x 100.

  35. 35

Well of course he's trying to stir up stuff. That doesn't make him wrong. He is hopefully making people take a step back and think about something from a different perspective. I find him funny, sarcastic and rude enough to attract other peoples attention and make them at least hear if not listen.

  36. 36

HES SOOO ON THE MARK. Love him.

  37. 37

    what a friggin idiot…..

my daughter had cystic fibrosis….diagnosed when she was just a month old.

we never ever had problems getting health insurance, and we did have to change companies several times during her life.

her healthcare was an enormous expense…but, we never had any problems getting her the things she needed….including a machine called the vest, which cost $16,000…sixteen thousand dollars. our insurance had an annual cap of $4500 on medical equipment….but, we were able to arrange for the vest to be billed in annual installments, and we never paid a cent out of pocket for it. we had hospital stays that would run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars…covered.

i hate it that some people in this country have had real problems with health care, but didn't we have a little thing called Medicaid and Medicare to help with these gaps????

why in the world do we need a trillion dollar plan, that would put some countries into bankruptcy?

  38. p.s. says – reply to this

    38

Re: Cid – How could you possibly think that the US is the best country in the world when it doesn't even take care of it's own people? You would be so lucky to live in Canada where you would never have to worry about going into debt trying to pay for something like chemo or a life saving surgery.

  39. 39

he can certainly be obnoxious at times, but he was completely on the mark with this letter.

  40. 40

Bravo to MM for this! it speaks for the millions of us who've been ignored and betrayed by our elected officials who chose the almighty corporate dollar over the nearly 40 million uninsured.

  41. 41

He's on his mark. PERIOD. Except- adults with pre-existing conditions will also be able to obtain health insurance at an affordable rate NOW and not later. I could be wrong.

  42. 42

Of course he is stirrrin shiz….
that's all he's after everytime he speaks up…
    or when he makes movies….
    or walks down the street…

  43. 43

Once again half truths. If Obama really wants to solve health care, Tort reform should be number 1 on the agenda, not pork

  44. 44

I don't understand why 15 million will still be uncovered. How do they decide that? Geez! I'm not racist at all, just aware of my surroundings and I have a feeling all the uncovered 15 million will be white people… dur de dur…

  45. 45

Re: Vintage7787 – According to a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll released today, by a margin of 49%-40% those surveyed say it was "a good thing" rather than a bad one that Congress passed the bill.
You can shout in ALL CAPS, but just because you're loud doesn't mean you're the majority.

  46. 46

Re: nasscar5 – These things go into effect in the first year:
    - Health insurance providers cannot deny any child coverage because of a pre-existing condition
    - Insurance companies can no longer drop someone when he or she becomes ill
    - Young adults can stay on their parents' health insurance plan up to their 27th birthday
    - Health insurers must now reveal how much money is spent on overhead
    - New health insurance plans must cover checkups and other preventative care without co-pays
    - New measures will be implemented to help eliminate health insurance waste, fraud, and abuse
    - Small businesses (fewer than 50 employees) will get tax credits to help cover premiums
    - Seniors on Medicare will get a rebate to fill the "donut hole" in their drug coverage
    - Insurers will be required to put more premiums dollars toward actual health care services, not administration, advertising, or profits
    - Insurance premium increases will be have to be reviewed and justified
    - Lifetime caps on the amount of insurance a person can have will be banned
    - A temporary high-risk pool will be set up to cover adults with pre-existing conditions

  47. 47

Good letter Michael. Be ready everyone because the Republican party will start to find more lies for us to try and believe. The more they spew the more people go to the Independent side or Democratic side. Its about time we have something.

  48. 48

it's funny how anyone who disagrees says "well he's wrong and obama's a liar!!!! they're gonna raise taxes!!!!" but they can never say what exactly is wrong, and yes, taxes will be increased, but it's to help you out.

i don't remember there being so much drama about going to war and raising taxes/insane govt. spending for that, but God forbid we try to get decent health insurance for every US citizen. yeah, that makes sense.

  49. 49

you know as much as i think he is a douche…he has some good points.

  50. 50

Re: Plinkie9 – ah, thankfully for the rest of us, one important freedom remains. You can leave if you don't like it. :)
now i hope if your poor grandmother gets cancer, you'll be greatful she has a chance.
    doofus.

  51. 51

Re: fraticat – but, it's not government run… it's government regulated so we aren't getting butt-raped by evil health insurance companies who are ONLY interested in making money. like the meat industry, if the government didn't regulate that we'd be eating dirty, rotten meat.

  52. 52

Re: Cid – Actually you DON'T, because up until very recently your government was letting their own citizens die because they are poor. In Canada everyone receives the same (wonderful quality) healthcare, no matter what their race, religion, political stance or income. You really don't understand what a good country is until it has taken care of you and your family…the same way Canada has for me and everyone I know.

  53. 53

Re: rayna – prove that it's all a lie, and what exactly are all these "back-room" deals? Oh wait, you can't answer that because FOX hasn't told u yet, right?

  54. 54

Obviously this man lives for controversy, but either way, he's right! It's about time more Americans got health coverage!

  55. 55

Majority of you people have got to be the dumbest, ill-informed, non-Americans trolling this biased piece of crap. If you like England and Canada's healthcare so much, GOoooo for all our sakes. GET OUT!!!!! Their healthcare sucks! Study it, read about it. Open your minds a bit. People are so stupid and ignorant. It's infuriating. You get what you pay for. I'm not wealthy by any means and I pay high insurance premiums, but I like my odds of getting cancer care a lot better here in this great country of ours rather than the aforementioned ones.

  56. 56

    on the mark..bullseye

  57. 57

There was a time in this country when the majority of Americans did not support civil rights for minorities, desegregation, the abolition of slavery, women's right to vote, etc. Once they get used to it, they will see that healthcare for everyone isn't such a bad thing. We're not there yet, but hopefully it's a step in the right direction.

  58. 58

Love you, Michael -and thanks for exposing the skank republicans for the horror they really are.

  59. 59

    thank god i'm canadian.

  61. 61

Re: Dianne – How do you know? Do you live there? Have you been treated there? Have you spoken with people from these places that have been treated poorly? Probably not. You just read partisan crap and believe it.

  62. 62

    Re: Plinkie9
How else do you expect to pay for it? Every healthcare system that is universal in anyway though your new system leaves a lot to be desire is pay for by taxes. You didn't expect it would be free did you?

  63. 63

    Re: Dianne
Oh please shut up unless you live here and have gone through our system you don't know shit. I have gone through the system because of my mother and it is fine. Every system has its problems even yours. For example, do you know you're already payng for peoples healthcare because they go to emergency rooms instead of seeing a family doctor on a yearly basis because they can't afford healthcare.

  64. 64

Re: Pacific Ocean Gal – This is not a perfect plan thanks to the republicans????? Are you serious? Thsi was written BY THE DEMOCRATS! They only took out the abortion issue because of DEMOCRATS objections. Nothing in this is written by Republicans. So once again, you need to educate yourself and stop regurgitating what the liberal media feeds you.

rather than comment on all these individuals who claim it's a bad thing, obama is doing this and that and the other thing wrong, it's all an agenda and a mistake…

i'm with you sweetheart. THANK GOD I'M CANADIAN.
Best of luck, our floundering neighbors to the south. One day, the fear of oh-so-terrible tax increase will be looked back upon with laughter, and you'll benefit from having the health care you and all humans deserve.

  66. 66

For Cid and the other idiot Plinkie9, you are the proof that America is not anymore the greatest contry in the world. I agree with Micheal Moore!

  69. 69

    Re: Dianne
Bet you didn't know that Canada pays less money for heatlhcare than the U.S or that the U.S is ranked lower than Canada and the United Kingdom in terms of healthcare systems. Its even rank lower than Costa Rica.

  70. 70

MJJ- I am NOT for this health care bill. The democrats came up with a bill that is pure crap. This is going to do nothing but raise taxes. In 2 years when Obama runs for re-electino he will say that he lowered the deficit. Well of course he did, he raised taxes to pay for his overspending. Then when he is out of office (he will never be re-elected) the deficit will go back up. He won't have to deal with the consequences of this crap of a bill.

  71. 71

Wow! He certainly hit the nail on the head. Republican nay-sayers are a bunch of idiots. These are some of the same fools who warned that Clinton's tax hike in 1993 would destroy the economy, cost millions of jobs, generate hyper-inflation, and lead to a massive recession. What happened in the next year was the beginning of the longest lasting economic recovery in American history. The same fools carried on for a couple of years with "when we find the WMDs in Iraq, and WE WILL FIND THEM…" only to be proven ignorant fools again. Now they're babbling about how healthcare reform will destroy the economy and force multitudes of doctors out of business (without telling us where the doctors will go, now that the entire industrialized world has some form of universal healthcare). The repugs are really lacking credibility. Unfortunately, they don't notice, because they're too busy sweeping all of their wrong-headed lunacy under the rug. The republicans in congress were too busy destroying the economy during the Bush years to fix the broken healthcare system. They had majorities in both houses of congress AND the white house, but failed to take any initiative on health care reform while they could.

  72. 72

Re: madonnaontherock – America is the greatest country in the world. We lead in health care research and development. We are the leading pharmaceutical researching in the world (holding the top 2 positions). We are leading in education. Canada is just a cheap knock-off of the US.

  73. 73

Re: Plinkie9 – I hardly think a tax increase is worth more than saving 30,000 lives!!

  74. 74

Can't we all just get along and be thankful there is another Austin Powers movie being talked about? Health care, shmelth care! Austin Powers!!!

  75. 75

honestly, no one should be praising or putting down this issue until we have seen the full extent of its passing…

it could be the worst/best thing to happen to the country or nothing at all
you can bitch about how the other side is stupid for their opinion and that their "facts" are wrong but the truth of the matter is that
    ONLY TIME WILL TELL

for now there is nothing we can do so give it a rest and stop disrespecting each other…

when we know more we can make our opinions known… in the november election…

  76. 76

Thank god! i have a pre existing condition and my insurance does not cover my meds! Next on the agenda (hopefully) education!!!

  77. 77

No, Republicans work for health insurance for our families…we don't expect it to be handed to us…trust me

  78. 78

The bottom line is the government does NOT have the right to dictate health care. Think about it… It is fiscally unsustainable and irresponsible. What is the government going to take over next? Cap and Trade, anyone? Be ready for the decline of what was once a great nation.

  79. 79

He is right on the money. The CRAZY Right Wingers do not care about their fellow American. They were only concern with trying to beat Obama and keeping him from the agenda he promised when he ran for President. I also hope the Democrats that acted like wimps get voted out of office the next elections. They just did not fight hard enough for this bill that would support the American people in their time of need.

  80. 80

"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not." -Thomas Jefferson

  81. 81

Re: cs1234 – And when there are no insurance companies left in a few years it will be called…….come on….don't be afraid to say it…….socialized, government-run health care. Don't give up your freedoms for the easy way out. And soon it won't be the easy way out. It will be the nightmare we all have to live with - or not depending on whether or not the gov't thinks you're worthy of life (Ha! Couldn't resist.) You obviously don't know history or at least haven't learned the lessons from the past. WE ARE A FREE PEOPLE and I don't want a gov't idiot (R or D) involved in my health. What's wrong with you that you do? You seriously trust them with something as important as that?

  82. 82

Maybe what would help people is to see what it all entails and just the facts for all of us to see. If someone knows where that is please let me know. I will be the first to admit..I don't know what all the deezt are. If this helps people like me who dont qualify for medicaid because i make a couple dollars too much, then i am for it. Does it include dental..do people realize how many people die from dental infections in the stomach. If this a solution to help us then fine no problem with the tax increase, and second was our constitution rights trambled on? If so that is not right either. I want facts not opinion. So please post the website that shows the bill number and detailed facts of what is now law. Also so i don't get fined for not obeying the law.

  83. MP says – reply to this

    83

Michael Moore is nothing but a windbag.

  84. 84

Most Canadians I know love Americans.

We are, however, scared shitless of the way you guys treat each other.

Canada has had government funded and operated health care (we do pay about 100 bucks a month per family) and that money goes to fund health care.

If you guys need or want to call it socialized medicine, go for it. It's not perfect, but we don't go broke personally or through our state/provincially run health care.

We don't have to suck up to 'friend' doctor/nurses to get free advice.

We get sick, go to a doctor, and deal with it. We spend our money on vacations, and whatever.

I have lived in America, and Canada really is the American Dream.

    xoxo

Canadaland (and we got Ann Murray)

  85. 85

A financially broke country with tens of millions (at least) and then millions more who are here as immigrants soon to get socialized sub-par healthcare…this is going to go so well!

So go off to the waiting lines America. Why are you so arrogant to believe this type of healthcare system is going to work any better in your country? Especially with the amount of fatasses in America with poor health. Enjoy :)

  86. 86

If the blll was so great, why was a Democrat majority in Congress not able to pass it, they didn't need Republicans. Why did it take over a year? And, why was there 300 million for Nebraska and 100 million for Louisiana. Does a good bill need bribes to get Senators to vote on it. Nancy Pelosi has an 11% approval rating. When Democrats passed this bill in the way that they did, they basically spit on all of us. This was not the will of the people. It was the will of 27-30% at best. But, just as Bill Clinton mandated that all people selling to the White House be union, George Bush came in and changed it. Because of the Democrats arrogance to listen to people about abortion and other issues related to this bill, they will likely lose the election and give Republicans control of the House. At this time, they will vote to deny funding to all of these bill components. Then, they can enact true policy. Our nation is broke and Obama said he would not tax the middle class. This bill will do that. We all will be more poor paying for healthcare that includes long lines for people with terminal illnesses, like in Canada and Britain where people die waiting. It's a disgrace.

Re: Cid – Wow…Cid is an idiot. Just because there are many things great about this country, does not mean that there isn't always room for improvement! And our health care system is one of many that needs improving! I went on a vacation to England and got emergency health care there far easier then I do in my own country. Hell yeah England and Canada's health care systems are better then ours! When a country is unwilling to change, that is when it's downfall begins.

  89. 89

I agree 100% I am glad that this bill has finally passed. U.S.A is considerd the greates country but our health care is like #80 in the list of healt care systems how pathetic is that EVEN CUBA HAS BETTER HEALTH CARE! Im glad change is coming. I dont mind having my taxes increased as long as i can rest assured that if i have to take an abulance in case of an emergency i dont have to pay a $1000.00 bill! HERE IS TO CHANGE PEOPLE

I wonder how this fat fuck is going to feel when he isn't getting help when his body can't handle the weight anymore..he is crazy if he thinks that aren't going to be looking at that stuff. I am from TC, MI where he "helped" open the downtown theatre back up..he is a joke..All of the restaurants downtown make fun of him..when he comes in he is rude and eats fried food like a pig. Mr. Moore, You were expelled from U of M..nice! Ugh..this guy..he makes my skin crawl..

Re: Dianne – Exuse me? Canadian healthcare sucks? clearly you have not recieved healthcare in Canada because if you had you wouldn't be saying that. As a Canadian my family and I have actually recieved health care times and I can assure you it was nothing less than excellent. I have had to be in the emergency room, and no the waiting time was not long at all. My grandmother has had cancer and she recieved amazing treatment in an amazing hospital as well as an in home nurse, and it was free. So when it comes to health care you should not "get what you pay for" because you are talking about a human life which you cannot put a price on. The fact that a person has an illness should not mean they have to go in to debt or risk losing their home, just because they cannot afford it. Healthcare is not a privledge, the fact that a person is rich does not mean they are anymore diserving of medical attention than a person who cannot afford healthcare.
So i suggest you get your facts straight instead of listening to your bullshit american propoganda about universal healthcare.

  93. 93

As a side note, the fact that so many people are complaining about taxes is absolutely disgusting. You have got to be some of the most selfish and ignorant people around. Most of you probably wont even notice a tax increase, because it honestly is not that big of a deal, it will not affect your paycheck as much as you think so stop whining about it. I've paid taxes my entire life and I can tell you it hasn't hindered the quality of my life in anyway. The fact that you're complaining about paying taxes in order to SAVE lives is disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourselves because you give your country a bad name.

Re: Orator – I don't need their healthcare..I can afford my own.

  95. 95

I think Michael Moore is right is right on the money.. for god sakes - I thought we were done with the old "Bush" bullshit… the republicans will fight anything that will not allow "the good ole boys" make money.. which surely lines the pockets for themselves. did you see how irate and childish some behaved? still trying to run everything with the "Bush desperate FEAR tactics..

  96. 96

He's an asshole. It's not Democrats vs. Republicans, and it's not health care for all or not, it's the underhanded way it was written, not read, and bribed to pass that makes it a travesty. What's the hurry? Let everyone read it…….then you, too, will see there are things in this bill that are not good for this country. They should be ashamed. People, this is no longer a republic. Sad, so very sad. :(

Re: sarahwall – why would you feel like the 15 million would be white when the majority race in the United States are the Hispanics. I'm sorry the white people aren't the majority!

I want reform- but I want it done right. Not something that Obama can be proud of because he finally did something. How about fixing the economy and putting people back to work because youre gonna have to support alotta people if you dont start getting people back to work. Oh wait scratch that- the few Americans working plus the Chinese will pay for it all.

By the way- I will credit Moore for at least being able to write a letter without making a mistake- unlike Perez, who once again, makes a booboo in his first sentence- its LATER not letter, you dope!
