Fringe Gets The Musical Treatment!

Don't you think it's a little early in the series to have to resort to SHITEOUS gimmicks like this??

FOX sci-fi series Fringe is trying to ca$h in on the success of Glee and is shooting a musical episode, set to air toward the end of April!

According to sources, the episode, called Overture, will feature the paranormal investigators breaking out into song and dance!

Producers are confident it will be okay though, because a few of the cast members have musical experience!

We're still skeptical!

Joshua Jackson may be SEKSI, but can he sing??

I love Fringe and I think this is a HORRIBLE idea. I can understand why a comedy would do a musical episode, but a Lost/X-Files inspired musical sounds disturbing at best…….

As a big fan of this show, this idea if f****** ridiculous. It's like having the cast members of Lost or X-files singing and dancing, jump the shark much? I can't think of any way this could work at all. Thanks for blowing it Fringe.

LOL why? I like this show but that sounds redonk.

  4. 4

    Horrendous! Remember Stephen Bochco?

Love Joshua Jackson! I can't quite picture him singing though. If it's hideous i'll just turn the volume down and watch his sexy ass!

I am a big fan of the show, I hope they don't ruin it.
    Love Joshua Jackson.

Why does every show now want to do musicals?? The whole high school musical craze shit is over

  8. 8

How do we ruin one of the coolest shows on television?Let's do a "Cop Rock"episode.

seriously..i hope its not true..well if they start singing, ill just mute the telly and watch Josh singing and dancing :) BTW, can you imagine Broyles dancing?

  10. 10

didnt Joss Whedon already do this with Buffy already?

Let's just hope this is an early April Fool's announcement, as something like this would definitely ruin the show. With only 7 million viewers an episode and the show just barely scraping by for a third season, this will more then likely make the rest of fanbase go away.

Agree with many of the posters. I like the show a lot, despite the fact that they can't seem to stay on plot or follow a main story…I mean, a head goes missing that has the potential to end the world and they haven't come back to that story line in like 7 episodes….

Anyhow…yeah…a song and dance episode on Fringe is going to suck about as much as the How I Met Your Mother song and dance shit.
If I wanted to see song and dance shit, I'd watch those shows.

TVguidemagazine.com broke this news a week ago. why are you posting this so late and then linking to another source?

well, if people are going to quit watching the show due to this ONE TIME episode, then they were not fans to begin with.

You people are so childish. One episode will not ruin the show, fans bitching and moaning and writing off an episode before the episode airs will ruin the show.

    jump the shark

well, if any of you commenters were actually fans of the show, you would know that this was announced WEEKS ago, perez is ALWAYS days behind the news. AND you would also know that the musical numbers are going to be part of a dream sequence and I personally and very excited/intrigued for this episode, as I don't believe the writers/producers would pen such an episode if they didn't think it could work. Which just leads me to want to say to PEREZ stop reporting on things you know NOTHING about. have you ever even watched an episode of this show? No, didn't think so.

Because Glee is the only show ever to have music. Sooo many shows have at least one musical episode, way before glee was even thought of. idk what this show is, never heard of it.
