Oprah $ettles Lawsuit

Back in 2008, Lerato Nomvuyo Mzamane claimed Oprah Winfrey ruined her professional reputation.
The year before, momma O gave two statements suggesting Mzamane didn't handle the abuse allegations properly at Oprah's South African School for girls.
A trial was then scheduled for this March 29th in Philadelphia after Lerato decided to sue. But as of yesterday, the two ladies managed to resolve the issue "peacefully to their mutual satisfaction."
According to a statement:
"Ms. Winfrey testified in her deposition that she did not intend the implications placed on her words by the plaintiff. Ms. Mzamane testified in her deposition that she has no evidence that Ms. Winfrey knowingly made a false statement about her or entertained serious doubt about what she said."
Though according to the suit, "The only reasonable inference to be drawn from the press conference was that Ms. Mzamane was let go because, at best, she disregarded claims of sexual abuse."
We can only image the amount of money O had to pay out to stop the suit from going to court. Somehow we doubt Lerato will have to ever work again a day in her life.
