thank you Perez for giving the human rights abuses in Cuba so much space on your site. your mention of it here insures a great turnout tomorrow in Echo Park. From a Miami Cuban (c'est moi!) to a Miami hottie (c'est toi!) thank you thank you thank you!!!!

    5. 5

Perez, why don't you do some thing about what Israel is doing to the Palestinians?

    6. 6

Who could give a crap about Cuba?!?!?!? If you care so much Perez take ur shit and ur wealth and ur influence and go live there and fire up the change from within…. or is that too much like hard work? They would pretty much burn you at the stake anyway.

    7. 7

What exactly is Isreal doing to the Palestinians you retard Jew hating fool?

Perez, your hero Obama was just praised by Fidel Castro for passing the health care bill. So i'm surprised (not that much) that you'd call for helping with change in Cuba when you want to see a chunk of Fidel's politics develop here in the USA. You want hope and change for more freedom in Cuba yet want less freedom here in the USA in the name of "Hope and Change".

Who are you to try and push freedom? Like modern neo-liberals you know nothing about freedom because you think it comes pre-packaged and delivered by governments. If anything Change in Cuba, with you and real leftist groups on board, will only strengthen the repressive government in Cuba.

You do know that all the Hollywood people you love to worship love Castro. They would think you are an evil right wing nut case for wanting change in Cuba!

As a (half) Cuban, Mattvoyager, I'm offended. I care about Cuba. I may not have been born there, but many of my ancestors were. Perez cares about Cuba. MANY people care about Cuba. What if someone bashed the country you were from? Would you let that stand? I may not agree with what's going on there, but for now, it's their life. They didn't choose to live with Castro as their leader. Cubans are good people. Just like Americans. Just like any other people.

And Perez, RockyoSocks is right. Everyone you seem to love is in love with Castro and his ways. Don't really get that. I'd be hurt.

Re: bbtaddpole – Occupying them against all international law you reactionary fuckbag

    12. 12

Time to change! It is a anachronism this Cuba'dictatorship!

Re: DjinnAgain – It's not all one sided. Israel was given the land they now have from the INTERNATIONAL community. Land given by Syria, Lebanon & Jordan. "Palestinians" are really from these three country's they are just call Palestinians. They are not so innocent, so stop hatin on Israel.

Re: bstaton – I'm tired of this country spending all of our efforts on/in other countries. Lets focus on the poor/homeless/mentally ill people here in the U.S. We raised a ton of money for Haiti, lets raise that kind of money for our needy people here!!! Every time we try and "help" another country we are accused of wanting to occupy them, trying to run the world, and people say we can't mind our own business, so fine lets mind our own business. The next time one of these 3rd world countries need help let them go somewhere else and tell them all we're taking their advice of monding our own business.

      Hey Perez, this is great!

What's important here is that you're raising awareness about the human rights violations. Abuses like those in Cuba where you're not allowed to access the internet (gasp) or are beaten/imprisoned just because you think differently from the government (jaw drops) or how about for expressing oneself like we do on blogs like these (shut the eff up!) happen around the world so shining light on them one by one IS significant. We should all rally around acts like these in defense of freedom for all.

It's not a Cuban thing just like it's not a Haitian thing or a Burmese thing it's a HUMAN thing. And we -who enjoy liberty- should support our brothers and sisters who live in places where repressive governments prohibit them from being the authors of their own futures. So put aside the anger and stand up for change.

      SOLIDARITY matters.

He dicho! Dale p'alante no hay quien nos pare.

Yeah, all the Marielito thugs like your family Perezito. Give it a rest.

Re: Gary78 – I am too, but what if something happened to our country and we needed help? We're lucky that our country is strong enough to survive.
