Closing! That Was Quick

You couldn't have been that bad, lil Abigail Breslin!

The closing date for the Broadway revival of The Miracle Worker was revealed this morning. The show will close on April 4th, after only 21 preview performances and 38 regular performances.

If it was bringing in any money, they sure would had it go on for a lot longer than that!

But that's showbiz!

Any of U seen the production? Thoughts?

wow, no one else thought this was a Horrible idea???

It was like a high school production. Whenever the other cast was saying their lines, Abigail would move her lips (she memorized the whole play). Unfortunately, that doesn't make sense if you a friggin deaf and blind. I left during intermission.

Really the 100th revival of the Miracle Worker didn't attract an audience. Come up with something new Broadway.

It's such a boring, frustrating production. I don't think it reflects poorly on Abigail's acting ability, it was just a poor choice for a role. I've tried to sit through the Miracle Worker movie and was bored to tears. Sure Helen Keller's story is very inspiring and moving, but to actually see it being acted out isn't very entertaining.

Did I see the same production as all you haters? I saw it and loved every second of it. I cried like a little queen. I thought the acting was amazing and I will be shocked if Allison Pill does not receive a Tony nomination. I wish I got a chance to see it more than once!

Good riddance! Helen Keller is deaf-blind woman. And Abby Breslin is hearing woman who knew *nothing* what it is like to be Deaf, Blind or deaf-blind at all.

The show deserved to close after all.

They chose not to hire or audition Deaf people or blind people at all.

Re: phillovin2 – I agree. The show was terrific. Abigail Breslin and Allison Pill did a fantastic job. All of the actors were great. It was a moving story and the ending was truly powerful. It's a shame it's closing.

Abbie most certainly knows more about acting than to mouth the words of the show. She's been in film since before she was 5. I was more impressed by her performance than by some of the "seasoned" actors in the show. I enjoyed it. Sad to see it close so soon. If it really is an outdated story, I am saddened by that fact too.
