Mariah Carey is planning to turn her life into a stage musical.
At least she has the good sense not to play herself! She does have someone fab in mind for the role - Leona Lewis!
"Mariah secretly likes the idea of Leona Lewis playing her. Not only is she exotic, she's the only one who they reckon would be able to tackle Mariah's eight-octave vocal range," claims an insider.
Wonder if the score will be all her own songs! It'll sure be, uh, interesting.

Why do you hate on Mariah so much Perez? Did she not kiss your ass like Madonna, Katy Perry & Lady Gaga?!?!?! Like it or not Mariah is one of the greatest female songwriters of our time. She is also one of the greatestes vocalists of all times. Why would it be a bad thing for her to use her 18 NUMBER 1 singles? They were obviously popular enought to get to number one.
I would totally watch this, if only to find out the exact point in her life when she became such an unbelievably tacky ho.
Re: msmontreal – Leona Lewis will never have the success Mariah has had ! She has a good voice, which lots of people do, she doesn't have the raw talent of Mariah. She doesn't have much feeling when she sings and she can't write her own music. If you want to have fairly consistent success you have to be able to CONTRIBUTE something to the making of your album, not just walk in and sing what is written for you. Look at Pink, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Sarah Mclachlan, Dolly Parton, Melissa Etheridge etc.. All the woman work hard to make their albums what they are, the work's not all just done for them and then they walk in and lay down the vocals..

^ I could not agree more! But I don't think Mimi has to worry. Everyone who matters knows that she is amazingly talented and every time someone counted her out, she came back stronger than before. This "news" was reported a YEAR AND A HALF AGO AND WAS NEVER CONFIRMED BY MARIAH CAREY AND/OR LEONA LEWIS. In fact, Mariah makes jokes about this kind of stuff, saying that if they're going to do a musical or movie about her life, they better do a mini-series to catch up. This was just a piece of gossip that the British tabloids wanted to stir up and I think Perez Dear was getting a bit bored and wanted to throw this in. If anything, Mariah has claimed that she wanted to write a memoir much later on in life– not make a movie of it!

What Carey brought to the role was a ferocity, a deadpan wit and an intensity that was the complete antithesis of her inert walk-through of "Glitter." She's been cast in Tyler Perry's upcoming all-star adaptation of Ntozake Shange's "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf," and it's going to be interesting to see where her film career takes her. It will be equally interesting to see if Cyrus will ever feel prepared to tackle a film as gritty and unglamorous as "Precious."
