OK No! Viral Sensation, Real-Life Failure

Sucks for these guys!

Ok Go needs their fans to step it up!

The El Lay based band is known for their quirky music and viral videos, but they are slipping fast as no one seems to be buying their music!

Their new album, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, has yet to even sell 25,000 copies in America, which is pretty dismal considering the band's success over the Internet.

Speaking of which, despite the piss-poor sale numbers and worse reviews, their new video for This Too Shall Pass is already making it's way to becoming their next Youtube smack. To date, they've got over 8 million views!

So what's the deal, Ok Go fans? Give your guys a little support or be faced with the possibility of losing their weirdness forever!

You're an idiot, OK Go is a Chicago band…Mario, you'll never figure out the music industry.

They have become a gimick now.

  3. 3

their music is just not great. they should just make youtube videos for a living

  4. 4

Saw them in concert several years ago, and it was bad. Like unbearably bad.

OK Go's new album is fantastic! I don't buy a lot of music, but once I heard the songs featured with some of their videos, I had to have it and I haven't stopped listening to it since. I don't know why people wouldn't buy their music - who cares if you think they suck live or are a gimmick? It matters that they rock out at what they do, and are trying to put out new, interesting music. And they really have!

Why?? Because they're just another of a million nameless, faceless bands who make instantly forgettable crap! Fans of these kinds of gone-tomorrow bands don't know what even makes truly great music today.

Re: sheepdog67 – You are absolutely right. OK Go is originally from Chi-City.

I was surprised that "Oh No" (the album that had "Here it Goes Again" on it) did so poorly, but their latest album is…and I hate to say this, because I loved their last album…lame. Boring. Not trash, but it's absolutely the wrong direction for the band to be taking. The "hipster party boy" rock is their bread and butter. The synth-stuff in the album seems like outtakes of outtakes of outtakes from a Beck-wannabe's album.

well it's because their videos are really nice, but the music is kinda meh, you could see the videos with the sound off and you wouldn't be missing much

They screwed themselves when they did that silly treadmill stunt; everyone could remember that video but noone knew the name of the actual band or song. Gimmicks=bad. It's a way to cover up a lack of talent. Gaga , take note

Ok Go IS LA based now. They are really ARTISTS, not just musicians. Loved, loved, loved, OK GO and OH NO. Their new CD, Of The Colour Of The Blue Sky IS different. They aren't stupid. They knew it would be risky. It is how the direction they felt was right for them, as artists. Long live OK GO!

Also, they are hardly failures. Perez, you're just being mean. They are GENIUSES!

I hope they do well, but it's sad to say that their videos are all that they're about. I love watching both versions of "This Too Shall Pass", but if the videos weren't so awesome, I doubt I would even know much about them.

"let it go this too shall PASS"…literally…

Honestly, where are their PR peeps? I heard they were going on tour, but where are the advertisements of their cd being dropped? I don't blame the fans I blame the PR! I have yet to check out their NEW video yet I had no idea a new one existed.
