Private Benjamin Being Remade
We can't believe it's come to this!
After we reported the tragic resurrection of Overboard, another classic Goldie Hawn flick is being remade - Private Benjamin.
The 1980 comedy centered around a spoiled woman who joing the army after her husband dies during sex on their wedding night.
The new version, starring Anna Faris, will be set in modern times with the current wars as the backdrop. Sources say that no one wants to make fun of servicemen and women, but bring to light empowerment issues and build on the fish-out-of-water comedy.
Stoopid.

No I wouldn't watch! Anna Faris has one tone she plays and it's annoying after you've seen her in a movie or two… Kind of a Jim Carey effect. Kate should have been cast and the casting agents are idiots for selecting Anna over her.

Noo! Private Benjamin is a classic 80s comedy. Just put the old one back in theatres. That should be the cure for all producers who want to do remakes that will lose them money. Goldie's irreplaceable and one reason the character works so well is that she's way more adorable and talented than Anna Faris OR daughter Kate Hudson. And how are you going to find someone as great as Eileen Brennan to play the Captain?
Will not watch these remakes or any other remake. Never have because they can not and never are better than the first one made. Try getting some writer who know how to write there own stuff. Just like with the soaps, just keep doing the same story lines over and over.

I adore Anna Farris !!!!!!! She's a great comedic actress. Not much of a fan of the first movie, but I will watch a movie with Anna - she makes me laugh.

As long as Anna did as much justice for the character as Goldie did, then YES! I would definitely go and see the movies when it hit theaters!
