Twilight Author's Next Film To Start Early Next Year
Just to clarify, we are not talking about Breaking Dawn. Shocking as this may sound, Stephenie Meyer has written other books than Twilight.
Okay, only one other book, but it still exists and apparently, has the potential for the big screen. Sources say the film adaptation of Meyer's adult novel, The Host, could begin as early as next year.
This could mean, depending on the start date for Breaking Dawn and the possibility of two movies, that The Host could make it to theaters before the end of the Twilight franchise.
If they had them out at the same time, Summit would make a KILLING! Twi-hards wouldn't know what to do with themselves! Something to think about!
But then again, do Twi-hards care about stories that don't involve sparkling vampires?

I love that it has the Twilight stamp on the bottom. So basically it is yet more shit written by this woman, that can't stand alone as it's own body of work, so has to have the Twilight factor for idiot teens to buy it.

The "Host" is definitely better written than any of the "Twilight" books. The characters are way more developed. hopefully it transfers to screen better than "Twilight" did and that they get some decent actors.

I read The Host and it's very good. I don't know which I liked better, Twilight or The Host; they're so different it's like comparing apples to oranges. And I'm a teenager, so this book isn't just an "adult novel." I'd be very interested to see the movie.

It took me a lot of reading before "The Host" made any sense to me at all.I liked it in the end but wouldn't really recommend it to anyone…might do well as a movie though.

The idea, the concept of it was really creative, but the main caracthers of the book are not catchy and you don´t sympathize or see yourself in their places. Hard to put in words.Everything is so…cold!

I honestly can't wait for this movie. It has a great story line and if it is done like the book describes, it should be a great feast for the eyes as well. Hope they don't skimp on the special effects!!
I really liked the host. Even more than the twilight series! I know, I know, sacrilege to all those twi-hards. But it wasn't as pussified as the twilight series was. I'll be there to watch the host!

I found the book to be a huge bore. Good concept but just BORING. I've had enough of Meyers martyrs.
I hope she never writes again, she def imporved with the Host, but towards the middle of the book she def slumped herself right back into another twilight book. I swear all the characters, match up to a character in Twilight. She's Awful. And i can't understand teens lust for her.

The Host was THE BEST book Meyer has written. You fall in love with the characters and feel triumph at as they grow thru - out the book. Give it a chance, quit being so damn negative all the time. I hate reading the comments a lot of the time because most people who visit this site are just so hateful. Ease up, damn.

IS 'BREAKING DAWN' THE ONE WHERE EDWARD CHEWS THE BABY OUT OF BELLA?? I can't WAIT to see that part on actual film, especially since they'll cheat us out of a decent sex scene. I wish the whole series had ended when Edward chewed that kid out. That was so disgusting! I howled with laughter at the mere thought of Twitards wrinkling their pugnacious, pimple-riddled noses at that part, and crying because they didn't get to vicariously lose their cherries to Edward. Aside from the people in here who liked it, I don't know anyone who's even gotten through this book. I haven't personally read it so I can't say from my own personal opinion, but from what I have heard it's not gonna be worth it. But since it's Meyer, it will probably do well anyway.

The first half of the book was pretty boring, the middle was okay but the end was kinda weird. Also, I can't imagine it on screen. How will they show the 2 soul in 1 body thing? 'Cause that's the whole point and I just can't see happening on screen.
In this case that the movie is better than the book. The book had an interesting concept but she dribbled on and on.. trying too hard…

The Host was AWESOME!!!! It took me a bit to get into it but once I got through the first chapter (I'm not really into SciFi) and you started meeting the other characters it was SO good! I think The Host could be a better movie than any of the Twilight books. But thats just my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love the Twilight Saga.
I liked The Host, it was a really different take on alien invasion. BUT, the books centers around one of the last humans who has yet to have her body taken over by aliens. When she's caught and an alien is put into her body, her mind doesn't fade away and she and the alien exist in her mind together…………how the heck will that play out well in a movie???
