    I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out when I heard Robert Englund wasn't doing Freddy ( it is to much of an icon playing a classic) BUT Jack Earl Haley seems to do the role justice from the trailers I have seen. I can't wait to see it!

    this isn't freddy. This film isn't a nightmare on elm street. It's yet another POINTLESS REMAKE . Platinum Dunes did nothing but insult the original films and insult Robert England. Jackie pricky strange character gimmicky earl gray tea or whatever his name is, is just shit. HE personally insulted Robert Englund, put down the originals and showed no sign of respect or even common knowledge of the originals. This freddy looks like buzushima from bloody roar. TERRIBLE. Without respect for the originals, without the support of the original creator and the ONLY actor that has and should have been the last to portray freddy, this movie is simply for the quick buck. They have nerve to steal practically the entire first film with a few new little dream farts thrown in, meanwhile totally insulting it. Great job. I think this movie will follow in all the other legendary remakes such as Friday the 13 and Halloween. All…. grrrrrrrrreat…smh… :/ God awful. And if you couldn't tell, that was sarcasm.

    This look absolutely dreadful, how does this even look remotely scary? His voice is even worse sounds like Christian Bale in Dark Knight, so retarded. Robert Englund should of been brought back, the trailer looks horrible, and supposedly it's more "serious" this time around no more jokes like Englund did, which no offense is what made freddy different, you'd be scared then he'd make you laugh, then freak you the fuck out haha. This movie is gonna be horrible. Michael Bay produced this and the Friday the 13th reboot, which was outright awful and comical, since it was pretty much softcore porn.

    JEH will be an amazing Freddie. He'll lean more firmly on the psychotic behaviors of the character as opposed to the humor that Englund chose to highlight, and he'll end up with a character whose ruthlessness is truly fear-inspiring. Let the man work his magic.

Plus Robert Englund said he was too old to keep on playing the character so they cast someone new. Idk how well the movie will be, seeing as the last few classic horror remakes weren't that great, but it will make a ton of money in theatres none the less. Plus with this release date it will most likely be out on DVD for Halloween, so I am excited either way.

    From what I recall reading, Robert Englund was approached to be in this one as well, but he declined cause I do believe the man is close to 70 now. In any case, I don't think this should have been remade at all. I loved these movies growing up and you just can't imagine loving the so called remake as much as the original. I'm sure the special effects will be better, but beyond that, its a wast of $. Get creative already, Hollywood!!!
