Plane Tires Caused Crash That Injured Travis Barker

It's been well over a year since Blink 182's Travis Barker and DJ AM were severely injured in a Learjet crash in South Carolina but now, the National Transportation Safety Board has finally concluded why the accident occurred.

Investigators have deemed the aircraft's under-inflated tires to have been the problem and hope their finding will encourage people to check tire pressure in business jets more frequently. Apparently, during their investigation, they learned that operators of air charters often aren't aware how rapidly the tires of some business jets can lose pressure and aren't checking tire pressure frequently enough.

Though this information doesn't bring back the four lives that were lost due to the tragedy, perhaps now with this information, more lives can be saved from such accidents.

No offense to Perez or to the families of those who lost loved ones in this crash, but this was obvious, even i knew this.

OK Dj Am got a sceond chance at life when he escaped this firery inferno! Most of his fellow passengers did not. Then the dumbs@t killed himself with drugs. Too bad someone else who wanted to live in that plane couldn't have traded places with him.

I'm really glad they figured the cause & hopefully people will note it & act upon it. My husband takes a lot of these "puddle jumpers" and I am always a nervous wreck until he lands safely. I do still wonder tho why the flight crew did not abort instead of trying to take off?

Re: lorrielovesparties – I appreciate your sentiments however; post traumatic stress is real & a very powerful thing. People with a history of drug abuse usually (not always) have a long history with stressful situations — another MAJOR event can send even a very strong person back to self-medication. I don't judge him…I don't know his life. Hopefully he is at peace now.
