Scrabble Changes The Rules!

For the first time in the game's history, the Scrabble rules are changing to allow proper nouns to be used in play!
A new version of the game will be released in July by Mattel and the company says:
"This is one of a number of twists and challenges included that we believe existing fans will enjoy and will also enable younger fans and families to get involved."
There will still be older versions of the game produced with the original rules.
Now you can get a pretty juicy triple word score with "PEREZ HILTON!"

Dumbing down Scrabble? Great.
i would rather lose the game actually, buckethead

The original press release read;
-
"We are dumbing down the game so even bloated, ignorant Americans with too much money and not enough sense will buy it."
-
Dear Scrabble: 1 less 'i', 1 more 's'
Dumbing the game down.
lame i refuse to play names. shaniqua or zackquisa
xianqua there are no limits….
What the hell? Stupid I hate change I hate hate hate it!!!!
This is just wrong. Just shows you how illiterate and uneducated Americans have become.
Re: stellagranos –
I second this, and I'm American. I'm just thankful my generation grew up with a challenge, it makes you try harder and appreciate things better.
Damn guess I better buy a Scrabble before the dumb down version that lets you score points with ignorant words like Perez Hilton comes out.
The game is by Hasbro, not Mattel.
wtf dumbasss bitch!
youre only allowed 7 letters, theres no way in hell anyone would be able to spell out your shit name!
actually perez your name would be alot of points u narsistic slut
That's super fun!
Saw this a couple of days ago … good work on the latest news !

The stupidest idea ever! Scrabble has been a phenomenal success for 60 years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Perez Hilton
meaning: A Cum guzzling boy loving douchebag
Damn, so I have to deal with Shanene and SHITia (yes, a real ass name) and Shaniqua too. No thanks. Where do they come up with these names anyway? Even my spell check finds them suspicious. Now they're allowed?
Really!? How stupid is this! I refuse to play it that way. That just shows the illiteracy is acceptable to us now. How ridiculous…what's next text lingo scrabble where lmao, wtf, and omg will be allowed..ugh. stupid people.
so glad i have the good version, although the only proper nouns we allow are names of places and people of historical importance (ie: if you spell 'george' you have to speak for 30 seconds about a real 'george' of historical importance)
that's how it should be heh
What's next? Abbreviations?
Finally! A reason to use Perez Hilton in a board game
