Both Catherine Zeta-Jones and actor Kirk Douglas are asking Manhattan's Federal Court for leniency when it comes to Cameron Douglas' sentencing.

They each wrote letters with 93-year-old Kirk vouching for his grandson:

"He [Cameron] didn't express any self-pity, nor did he ask for any. The only sorrow he expressed was for the trouble he had caused others. I'm convinced Cameron could be a fine actor… I hope I can see that happen before I die. I love Cameron."

Catherine added in her letter that Cameron is "a considerate, worthy human being."

Cameron, Michael Douglas' son, is facing more than 10 years in prison for dealing methamphetamine. His sentencing is next week.

We wonder if Kirk and Catherine's letters will have any effect on the judge's decision!

How much did Michael Douglas pay Catherine Zeta-Jones to pen that letter of pure sh*t about Cameron? His father is too senile to know what's going on but his "child bride"???

  2. 2

'Considerate and worthy..' Yeah, how CONSIDERATE of him to supply huge amounts of meth to people who are suffering addictions that could lead to their DEATHS! No pity for this asshole. He deserves to do the time for his crimes. They were NOT victimless!

  3. 3

Not one of the adults in his life would VOUCH for him all the years he was looking for his family to help. Not until they could get favorable publicity did they finally speak up. Too little too late. Go back to your mirrors. Stop enabling the publicity mongers Perez!

  4. 4

Throw the book at the spoiled little meth-head ! All the opportunity he had, and he deals drugs ? ! Just because these celebs write letters of 'character' (HUH!), the kid gets off scott-easy? Let us hope the Judge is wiser than to be blinded the the Douglas name. And, yes, Kirk is likely so senile now he probably is not even aware he has a grand-kid. And, I bet they didn't even tell the old man the trouble his grand-kid is in . Ya do the crime, Ya do the time, Ya little Creep !

  5. 5

Their letters should make no difference if the judicial system was fair. This guy is a train wreck that is going to happen over and over again. If they really loved him, they would let him deal with the consequences of his actions. Keep bailing him out and this is what you get, a worthless celebrity spawn.

  6. 6

Now….IF Catherine went down on the Judge, they *might* have a chance of saving the kid ……

  7. 7

Who cares, he needs to be treated like anyone else - he needs a fair trial and needs to be sentenced fairly (as in, just like anyone else would be sentenced). He may be a "considerate, worthy human being" in their eyes but the fact remains that HE WAS DEALING METH!!! He was hurting countless others and their families all so he could make some money - to me, that isn't too considerate, it is extremely selfish. His ass deserves to spend some time thinking about what he has done to others in prison - the only reason he is feeling any "sorrow" is because his ass got caught.

  8. 8

Sometimes really good people can do really bad things. Especially if they are an addict. They still have to be held accountable. He'll be held accountable while he is being forced to attend 12 step meetings in prison where he will be brainwashed into believing he is powerless. Now that's the real tragedy. Hopefully he will get clean in prison and get out and realize he is complete control of his life and his destiny and is not diseased and doesn't have to live the rest of his life forever in recovery. I love Michael Douglas movies. God Bless 'um.

  9. 9

Re: Genghis Khan – Michael Douglas movies are AWESOME (especially with Kathleen Turner!! The War of the Roses is on of my favs) - it is sad that he is blaming himself for the mistakes his grown up son has made in his life. It is messed up that this extremely fortunate adult has chosen that path, he had so many other options that many others would love to have. He should have taken advantage of that, acting, school anything like that - not drugs though.

  10. 10

    Now…didn't one other kid already O.D. … ? Brother, son ?…the family is drug-cit-eh !

  11. 11

this is bullshit. if you or me that got caught trafficking meth they would throw the book at us. im so tired of these over-privileged fucks crying when they get arrested. you did the crime…now do the fucking time.

  12. 12

  14. 14

lets see if money really talks in this situation another famed brat gets out of jail time

  15. 15

omg, this bitch is 70!!! what a fukin loser, fuckin that sad sack of prune body Michael Douglas just to be an American star..

  16. 16

    Re: 1helluvatym

    hell yea

  17. 17

Yup. A two-tier legal AND healthcare system works for me!
    Is there a problem here?
Works for me. You're not an elite? Too bad.

  18. 18

I can't imagine the pain I would have, if my daughter was in jail.
Every day I would be in anguish. I'm sure Michael is going through hell, just as any other parent would feel…devastated!
Any parent would do the same, beg for mercy and leniency from the judge.

  19. 19

Frankly I want him to go to jail. He broke the law he was dealing DRUGS! Drugs kill he should pay for it. Maybe he'll learn and get his life back on the straight. These letters shouldn't change anything it wouldn't be fair.

  20. 20

I would rather he get and others in his position not spend my tax payer money in jail rather than in a medical program to help him with his addition and then a program to find out his passions or talents. Too many jailed people go back because they go to the Univeristy of Jail and learn how to rip us off even more. When they get the opportunity to learn other skills they soak up the experience. They usually come from broken homes and are usually sexually and physically abused. Her comment was good, the only thing that struct me was "He could be an outstanding actor", why not give him the opportunity to be an outstanding person and family member.

  21. 21

i 'll have to catch up; so no clue what this is about..unfortunately doing undergrad work. If spelling is an inclination ..idk what else what would give it away.

  22. 22

    Re: bearmonty – agree completely.
AND writing letters to the judge is a pretty common practice. Alot families do this, not just celebrity-filled ones.

  23. 23

Why should he get special treatment because he has movie star relatives? Does Hollywood rule America? Think not.

  24. 24

I cannot stand this pretentious woman.
I am sure CZJ really cares what happens to her step-son. Please!
Lie about your age much Catherine? This woman is pompous enough to think the whole word would buy that she is probably 10 years younger than she actually is. Maybe some people would be fooled by that but anybody with half a brain would see right through this lie.
Have you seen pictures of CZJ long before she became famous? She claims she is a natural beauty. Ah, ok, sure! If you look at these old pics of her you will see she was just a plain Jane. Nothing special at all. You cannot take the trailer trash out of the woman!
She just rubs me the wrong way. Another example of the workings of Hollywood's false image making at its finest.

  25. 25

Leave it to the woman to always bail out the dick fuck father. In this case Catherine. Look her husband was NOT a good dad to the son. He the father needs to deal and work through it. Catherine need not interveine. I mean she did marry that old classic antique of a sex addict, delusional yet neglectful parent of a father…fucking men. That dude is sooo old, NOT such a good parent, and is letting C.J.Z. deal with it… GROW SOME BALLS GRAMPA!!!!!! BE A RESPONSIBLE/ACCOUNTABLE/ACTAVIST OF A FATHER FOR ONCE U WRICKLED OLD UGLY ASS PROBABLY GOTS AIDS PRICK. SORRY FOR TYPOS!

  26. 26

Actually, he was full of self-pity, blaming his parents for his the status of his life. I don't usually think of drug dealers as being 'considerate, worthy human beings".

    27

Why would a federal court care if the guy "could be a fine actor one day"??? So typical of the hollywood community to think that bit of information would make him more worthy some how. LOL

  28. 28

definition of cougar u see her pic in there

doesnt get much better than this woman

  29. 29

    SEND him to JAIL already.
    NO EXPECTIONS! really.

Catherine can go back and lie down with the poor innocent dead animals she wears. EFF UU catherine - hope youu read this.

  30. 30

The Douglas family is legends. Good luck, and all the best! I will pray for Cameron.

  31. 31

I understand how they feel. I have a brother in the same situation. He is looking from 10-20 yrs for a nonviolent drug offense. I don't mind him going to jail. He deserves jail time, I guess I just don't understand how the guy down the road who shot a police man got 10yrs and my brother is looking at more for a nonviolent drug offense and no prior felonies. We have a friend at home that was one of the worst user's in the neighborhood. Everyone had completely given up on him and were waiting for him to die or go to jail. He went to a rehab for 2 yrs, is now back home and a productive member of society, attends church, works etc. If it only took 2 yrs to rehab him then why does it take 10-20 to rehab these fools??????????????

  32. 32

I'm sure a lot of other meth dealers could get their families to vouch for their "worthiness" too. But it doesn't mean much unless you are a celebrity. Meth is meth no matter who is dealing it. Just because your family has the money to cover up for you shouldn't get you off any easier. He is no better than any other common drug peddler on the street corner. And if this is true it really changes my opinion of Catherine Zeta-Jones.

  33. 33

If they would ONLY end the MANDATORY CONVERSION to the 12-Step Religious AA/NA Cult Insanity and REALLY help these people! NO MORE "HIGHER POWER" NONSENSE!

  34. 34

    Oh brother. Considerate????????

  35. 35

don't go easy on this little shit just because he has a gang of rich enablers, judge. that's bullshit.

  36. 36

So now we know Catherine is one of the reasons this boy is out of control…clearly no one set any boundaries for him and now they are trying to make excuses? he should be treated like any other meth dealer…no better, no worse….

We all know that since the Douglases have the money and the celebrity status and that his beautiful stepmom wrote a heartwarming letter to the judge to be more sympathetic when sentencing their son, that asshole will never see the inside of a jail, even though he violated his probation more than once and the fact that he already submitted a guilty plea. I hope the judge realizes that just because he's a Douglas does not give him carte blanche to break the law and that he'll send his ass to jail where he belongs

  38. 38

Yea, a law for the rich n a law for the poor!!
    Bull Shit!!

  39. 39

jail the scum bag.who cares if he's supposed to be loved.aren't we all?

  40. 40

I bet there will be ample leniency because he is RICH and FAMOUS.

Family is going to advocate for him. Does he deserve it? If the man gets no consequences, how is he going to learn not to go there again? He has to reach that conclusion himself to go for better choices. If they just spring him, what's the hard lesson to stop him from descending again to easy money? Tough love might be needed here.
