Tough Times For Jenny, Closes Autism Academy!

This isn't good news.

On the heels of her shocking breakup with funnyman Jim Carrey, sources say that Jenny McCarthy has closed her school for young autistic children. Insiders say that "internal disagreements" with her co-founder, Dr. Sarah Scheflen led to the closing of Teach2Talk Academy.

In a statement made yesterday by Jenny's reps, the news was confirmed, stating:

“Jenny and her partner at the Academy, Sarah Scheflen, had different visions for the school and made a decision to go their separate ways. Both intend to continue on in this important mission. Sarah and Jenny really enjoyed their time working at the Academy and feel honored that they were able to provide such high quality early intervention services to so many children with autism and other developmental disabilities."

Such a shame! Two things so very close to her heart lost in one week!

We hope she is keeping it together!

I wonder if it had anything to do with Jenny's obsession with the the popular, but largely debunked, theory that autism is caused vaccinations…or perhaps her assertions that her son's autism is "cured."

For the record, I don't question her devotion to helping her son, i just think she has gotten off track.

The Teach2Talk video concept seemed pretty sound. Hopefully someone else will pick it up and run with it.

Wonder if Carrey was funding the school and now that they are finished he pulled his money out?

I would imagine this has to do with her imaginary theory that autism is caused by vaccines and cured by a dangerous diet. Its good that they are getting her away from this school and these children so maybe they can get some real help from someone with a brain in their head. She is no advocate for autism she promotes false information and dangerous "cures"

Of course Jenny McCarthy has differing views than a Medical PROFESSIONAL! She's an idiot who really needs to fly back down into reality that doing a few radical pseudo searches on her compared to people who spent their lives and making this into a career are more capable than she is.Not to mention. I'm pretty sure teaching students of any kind takes a certain amount of years of schooling. Which I wasn't aware "Miss" McCarthy required. The whole breakup with Jim is unforunate, but the Autism thing is not her forte. She needs to except that.

I;m sure the bleached blond, silicone boob, tough as nails, rich, former playboy bunny can manager Perez.

  7. 7

I love her! she is so beautiful and funny! It's a shame about her having to close the school. I am really happy about her break up with that fugly Jim Carey she can do so much better. Go Jenny!!

"difference of opinion" my ass, more like Jenny's gravy train derailed when her and Jim broke up. That's the difference of opinion, she can't pay her half.

  9. 9

This is actually good news. She has absolutely no idea what the hell she is talking about.

  10. 10

    For future posts, Perez:

Use "children with autism" rather than "autistic children". Don't let a disorder define the person… it's not polite.

Re: sreyn – How do you figure that the diet is "dangerous"?? Do you know anything about it?…or are you just commenting for the hell of it?

  12. 12

She needs $$$$$$$$$$ and Jim is gone.

  13. 13

It's better to rip off the band-aid, per se, and get over everything at once. It'd be harder if she broke up with Jim and 3 months later closed the school. Hang in there jenny!

Could it be Jim & Sarah had an "affair"?!!? =-o

  15. 15

They should put their differences aside because this is not about them it's about the childrens health, and now those poor children are left without a school to go to all thanks to them .

  16. 16

Part of the problem was her insistance in believing old disproven theories about autism. Nobody is going to send their kids to an academy that is spouting out theories on Autism that were proved wrong years ago.

  17. 17

This is what happens with a playboy model and comedienne thinks she has grown a brain and spouts things medical of which they know nothing. Susanne Somers is the same way, talking about "natural cures" and walking around with about 18 pounds of fillers and silicone in her haggy old surgical body. Stick to being stupid, it suits you way better in the long run.

She looks just like Donna Mills here.

Re: sreyn – Actually I think the diet you refer to is known as a ketogenic diet. It is used a lot in children who suffer from seizures that resist any antiepileptic medication. The problem here is Jenny McCarthy is only about eight years away from her medical degree and has no clue of biology besides what people tell her. I don't go to the doctor for comedic advice and I don't think a comedian should be giving medical advice, but the diet she touts does have a lot of merit if it is properly supervised.

Re: PENNSYLVANIA GIRL – Specifically, the diet that is theraputic for children with Autisim is the gluten free/dairy free diet. My son has been on the diet for 3 1/2 years. By removing the gluten and dairy from his diet, he's become verbal, more focused and less aggitated. I've reintroduced gluten in his meals once or twice just to be sure that it wasn't a fluke that he began speaking 2 weeks after starting the diet and wham! He slips back into that Autistic fog each time. It takes another week or so before he becomes clear. The diet is FAR from dangerous. It's not like we're limiting his calories or anything. It's just one of many therapies that was suggested by my sons Pediatrician back when he was diagnosed at age 3. Surprisingly, a lot of what Jenny McCarthy says is not actually bullshit.

  21. 21

i guess thats what happens when Jim Carrey stops writing the checks

  22. 22

Jenny's child never had Autism. That's why her crazy assertions have changed. Her child had a rare disorder called, Landau – Kleffner syndrome, which sometimes confuses the symptoms of Autism.

  25. 25

She didn't have an Autistic child though. So…

  26. 26

This is a VERY good thing because she's an idiot and doesn't know what she's talking about when it comes to autism. Hopefully these kids go somewhere that actually suits their needs instead of this "the vaccine causes everything" lunatic.

  27. 27

good riddance. she's an idiot whose misinformation is lethal to children…it is difficult to have sympathy when i've seen patients in practice who have become ill through a failure to vaccinate and their parents' willingness to listen to a celebrity rather than their doctor…adult lunacy and the kids are the ones who pay. it's nauseating.

  28. 28

Too bad. But on the bright side…lucky for her that her son's Autism has been cured, right?

  29. 29

she is an idiot. he got sick of the kid we all know that. you cant cure your autistic kid with love or money. she thinks a good diet is a cure wake up get back to farting and burping. and the shithead carey that fell for should do a comedy he is not an ACTOR

  30. 30

    dumb c with a retart

  31. 31

    jim carey is the retart

  32. 32

I stopped listening to her when she babbled on how Jim Carrey cured her son's autism. He's a half-talented comedian who couldn't puzzle his way out of his own shirt. Stick her with Tom Cruise on the list of people pontificating about things they have no actual working knowledge about.

  33. 33

Jenny McCarthy and all her bubbleheaded babbling about Autism being caused by vaccines, and being "curable" is garbage. I feel no empathy for her, and quite honestly, karma stinks, and it's coming back to bite her in her rear end.
I have a 13 year old son that is high functioning Autistic (Aspergers) and I have tried every behavior modification technique, every diet change, I have had in home and out of home services for the last 12 years. Neuropsychology, MRI's, EEG's, psychiatrists, therapists, treatments, and NOTHING has "cured" him. Time, patience, treatments and some maturity (at 13, he's more like 9) have helped SOMEWHAT, but life with him is hard, it's always going to be hard, and that bimbo running her mouth about how wonderful her life is because her son, Evan, that had a food allergy, is now "cured" makes me nauseous.
Maybe now I won't have to hear about her stinkin' rear anymore.

  34. 34

Re: jlm6771 – She's just a poor dumb broad who eats her own vomit. Go easy on her.

  35. 35

    Re: h8terboi – Whaaaaaaat?

  36. 36

I read somewhere else where someone posted that jim had given her and her son something like 50 million so that she and her son can be taken care of for life…uhhg first isnt that what the real dad is there for to take care of his own kid…that guys is supposedly dating jlove now so he has money cause u know jlove aint dating no broke mofo…2nd maybe some of that money was earmarked for the school but she so greedy she doesnt want to spend that money on the school….also agree with others that the jim carrey gravy train stopped so she cant continue her (his) humanitarian efforts….

  37. 37

Does anyone else see the hypocracy if teach challenged children in a schoool you gave a cutsie nickname of "teach2talk"?

Little kids who DON'T have any disabilities will be confused by this!!!

  38. 38

    well thank god.
as a parent of an autistic child, she doesn't know what she's talking about.

  39. 39

good… jenny has done more damage than good "advocating" for children with autism… idiot…stick to what you know and go back to taking pictures with your clothes off….

Re: Suze – I've worked with children with autism for years, and have data on the fact that stereotypy levels remain the same after the re-introduction of gluten and casein. Maybe when you're trying the gluten, your'e watching him more closely and so you see the things you normally don't notice. No, the diet is not technically dangerous, if it's well-balanced, which it often isn't. Children with autism often have eating issues, and restricting their diet for something that is statistically ineffective is doing them a disservice. Pediatricians reccommend the diet because their letting you know what's out there, they usually know very little about autism. The only way this diet can be effective is if your child has a gluten allergy… do your research and get scientific evidence before you make your child's life more difficult, let him be a regular kid. Chances are, it's not the diet but the BT's, SLP's and OT's who actually work with your child that are helping him improve.

However, I commend you for doing everything you can for your child and understand that you mean well, I just think you are misled… please give the regular diet a chance and get data taken and get Autism experts to tell you what they think… not playboy models….

Re: jlm6771 – behaviour modification technicques work great if done right… but can make things worse if done wrong…. find someone who knows what they're doing……..but it's not a "cure" by any means… it takes consistency and hard work… but good job mom for being so honest and realistic! you are right about time and patience…and I know it's hard… but with Asperger's, your child has a greater chance of being independent in this world… so keep your head up!

  42. 42

Hey ddnett11, I agree with you. That Jim Carrey millions of dollars went bye-bye.
Now, where and how does she make money? What does she do?
She posed for Playboy years ago and now she has enough money to fund a school?
    Yeah, riiiiiiightttt!
Something bad happened between them. I don't believe it was so amicable.
The tabs should stop following Brad & Angelina so much while they r still together…EVERYBODY else is breaking up right under their nosey noses.

Re: UGH! – Amazeballs1 Banana oil!

Let's see — five years ago, Jenny said her son Evan was different because he was an enlightened Indigo/Crystal child. Then three years ago she changed her story to "No, actually Evan's different because he's autistic but I'm curing him really fast and in three years he'll be a 'real person' " [as I recall, that's the way she put it]" — then last week (right before she broke up with Mr. Carey) she changed her story *again* so now she's saying Evan never was autistic after all, it's just some really rare brain disease that looks like autism and she knows this is so because /a/ she hasn't cured him and /b/ the doctor said it's so (even though Ms. McCarthy used to tell people never to trust what doctors say about people's health or brains or anything else) … and now we learn that she's closing the school she started to "cure all autistic children" … Whatever she has lost in all her changing stories and unfounded personal good opinion of her own abilities outside of show-biz, sensible people are definitely gaining as she sneaks out of the autism spotlight.

    Bummer :O !!!
