Jim Carrey And Ewan McGregor's Gay-Themed Movie Postponed…. Indefinitely!

I Love You Phillip Morris, which stars Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor as gay lovers in prison, has had a hard time nailing a release date and has been pushed back a few times.
Unfortunately, we're irritated to report that the the film's future is not looking too bright. Its release, which was last scheduled for April 30th, has been postponed indefinitely!
The film premiered at Sundance and generated a lot of buzz due to its blatant homolicious content. It initially failed to find a buyer, until it was acquired by independent distributor Consolidated Pictures Group.
We sincerely hope there's a reasonable explanation as to why a movie with significant attention in the media and an A-list cast could be shelved, other than the fact that it's gay-themed.
Of course, that's probably the reality of it, which we think is truly disappointing.

Just curious, it seems to me that the gay lovers in prison thing is not only cliche' but it would be a bit insulting to homosexuals in general. If going to do a gay theme funny movie why not do it like the sitcom Modern Family is doing it. Gay couple dealing with family and friends and adopting a daughter. REAL issues the gay community deals with on a daily bases but done in a funny way. Just one straight mans opinion.

I'm not sure why this movie has been pushed back, but if it is because the movie was done in poor taste then I agree that it should be pushed back into infinity. Homosexuality is not the same as immorality, vulgarity, or over-the-top humor. Homosexuality is about people who are sexually attracted to members of their own gender and they include the finest and most upstanding people in their community. I'm tired of seeing all of the lumping of homosexual people that goes on in performances. Most homosexuals wouldn't contribute a dime to the trash that is paraded to the public as homosexual reality.

I was lucky enough to see the Pemiere at Sundance. Funny, witty, endearing, sweet, sad, and outrageous. Carrey was his usual manic self–but Ewan was brilliant.
Have heard nothing but great things about it from those that have seen it. There is definitely some shady shit happening with this film .

I've seen it already here in France it's been out since Valentine's day… so you guys have some serious censorship issues

The movie's been out in England for about a month now and I am happy to report it's absolutely fantastic!
I can't believe in this day and age it's still a massive problem to screen a gay related film with A-listed performers. God this world is so inmature!

I live in the UK and it has been released over here. I thought it was a good film, a bit hard to take (again with the puns lol) in some places but mostly a good film. You would think in this "day and age" that some ppl wouldn't be so against this sort of thing. Shame!!
I'm lucky enough to have seen this film and i think it's absolutely outrageous and shocking that this film wouldn't get a release just because of it's nature or whatever. I must say that I thouroughly enjoyed this film and as it happens, it is a love story which, my experience has shown left the audience "aww"ing the whole way through and also in floods of tears at one particular point. I would say that this film has the right amount of a love story and hilarity to make it a success and i'm so disappointed in the people who wouldn't go to see this fantabulous movie just because of it's gay content. GET OVER YOURSELFS. THERE IS MORE TO LIFE.

It was here in the UK in all the theatres. It was an amazing film, and if it's not released in the USA because of the gay link, then that is seriously sad and backwards.

i saw the movie here in Belgium where nobody cares about the gayness of movie… and it's not that good… you're not missing out…

If BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN could get all those Oscar nominations, I'm sure this movie is not going to offend the movie public. If people don't like the content.. DON'T GO SEE IT!!. But, I'm hearing that its not being release right now because of Jim Carrey's depression and recent split with Jenny Mcarthy. He is too emotional to press tour and that would be a downfall for the movies success.
