Seaside Height$$$ Should Be Thankful To Snooki!
They're going to have one hell of a summer because of her!
Though many Italian-Americans in New Jersey are offended by MTV's The Jersey Shore because the cast holds up a mirror to the thousands of guidos & guidettes in NJ it falsely portrays the culture in the Garden State, some are thanking their lucky pickles that the show came about.
Like every hotel manager, boardwalk bartender and Karma waitress in Seaside Heights!
The small shore town will be booming this summer says the town's executive director of Business Improvement, Maria Maruca. She believes that The Situation and his friends have brought a "economic benefit" to Seaside that they never had before and will never have again. Maria explains:
"There's the curiosity factor. Celebrities draw crowds. That's going to give us an edge that we didn't have before. The exposure that the show brought to Seaside Heights — when every late-night host is talking about Snooki, when Leonardo DiCaprio is talking about the show — we could never have afforded that type of media. This is more than we could ever have asked for."
Seriously! Maria explains that the boardwalk was even packed during the winter, just so folks could see the places their favorite guidos frequented!

I have lived in New Jersey my entire life. I am Italian. I married an Italian. I have never come across anyone who resembles a cast member from the Jersey Shore. I love the show, so I'm not knocking it, just saying that it's really not a fair representation of New Jersey.
Seaside is the dirtiest part of Jersey! If it brings money into the economy down there, all the better. But please don't mistake all of these idiots for Jerseans, it's bad enough that two of them are.

i live in new jersey. for such a small state, it has alot of towns and cities that i never even heard of. seaside is a fun place to go during the week. anyways, new jersey also has the river, fishing, jumping off the bridge into the river, cornfields, four wheeling, dirt biking, quarries, exploring etc! its not all guido style people
no one realizes how annoying this is going to be now. it's hard enough in the summer to get to the beach and the seaside area in general. now we have these annoying assholes coming back into our area and causing chaos. it's absurd. i'd prefer to walk the boardwalk with my friends and not get harassed and annoyed by loud, greasy guidos and guidettes. i also don't need to see anymore bennies in our area. stay in your own state.

I live five minutes from Seaside Heights and seriously… we DON'T need this publicity. Rentals in our area have SKYROCKETED and not just for the summer but for winter rentals, and yearly rentals as well. Being 22, I can't afford to put a down payment on a house at this moment in time, so I'm left to rent. This really sucks.
