she's probably just happy the poor kids is not fat :-P

  2. 2

    but it's TRUE love haha

  3. 3

In other words, the kid is going to do whatever he likes and that's it. In the good ole days, parents would bribe their kids to break off relationships…….bribe him with money, trips, ….etc. I once got two weeks in the carribean just to dump my summer boyfriend.

    4

I am more shocked to learn this kid is engaged to a girl! From what I seen of him I thought he was gay!

  5. 5

AND THEY'LL CALL OF THE ENGAGMENT IN A YEAR OR TWO…TYPICAL TEENAGERS. THEY PROBABLY WON'T EVEN LAST 3 YEARS INTO THEIR MARRIAGE.

  6. 6

meh, she's probably relieved the kid will move out & she'll have more food to herself..

  7. 7

sometime I like her, sometimes I don't….she needs to stand up and be a mother instead of a friend. a 17 yr old has no business getting married.

  8. 8

Well if she makes a huge deal about it and forbids it, the kid is probably more likely to go through with something as soon as he's able just because he CAN. At least this way she keeps some control over the situation, and might understand that the chances are it'll run its course without ever getting to the "I do" stage. Just a thought.

  9. 9

I got married at 17, and have been married for almost 9 years. Just leave it be, you can't control anyone else's decision.

Re: iloverickymartin – @ 3 - while it's fantastic you received a trip to the carribean, many parents don't have money to pay their children off to get them to listen. In the good ole days (as you put it) children had respect for their parents and even if they didn't agree, the child still did what the parents said - and no one spent money. nowadays, parents do what children say and it's repulsive and reflects horribly on society………..95% of children these days need a good ole fashion ass whippin……..

  11. 11

She doesn't live in the real world.
    .
She belongs to a CULT that teaches "Whatever is true FOR YOU is true.".
    .
So, she can just make anything up and decide it's "real". (Yeah. That's right. ANYTHING.)
    .
It's no wonder she had/has such a massive drug problem.
    .
And now has a massive food problem that has made her so…err, well…massive.
    .
Worse than that, the kids have (no doubt) had their heads packed so full of sawdust (or worse) that they are now ready to be married young and march of into the world to spread the word of XENU.

  12. 12

She deserves the mom of the year award and the Darwin award. Fucking stupid ass scientologist lunatic. UGH.

Re: April 20th – I see that we agree on parenting, in addition to other things. I agree with you wholeheartedly that 95% of children these days need a good ass-whipping. ;)

  15. 15

I think it’s all a publicity stunt to promote her Scientoloty weight loss plan crap.

  16. 16

Umm, nothing wrong with a long engagement. Once he turns 18, he can do whatever he wants, so whats the big deal?? I think she has two wonderful kids. I watched her show and they are down to earth, decent kids..

  17. 17

all "hollywood marriages" end in divorce anyway, so whether he's 17 or 70 doesnt really matter.

  18. 18

there just engaged…its not like thier goin to vegas next week to get married. damn. besides young marriages can work.
    leave the family alone.

  19. 19

Re: La Garse – and that ass whippin should be able to take place in a public place without CPS being called……..

  20. 20

did he knock the broad up? or is this some kind of special scientology bullshit? either way it's fucked up. what kind of parent encourage you to get married at 17? way to guarantee a divorce before you're even 21. unfortunately for her kid, she's a fucking moron and a bad mom.

  21. 21

I was only 16 and hubby 17 when we got married. We stayed together for 29 yrs. Age had nothing to do with our breakup. He just prefered drugs and girlfriends.

  22. 22

    Great roll model . . . . . . . sticky cinnamon roll that is.

  23. 23

i was engaged at 17 and married at 20 i wouldnt change a thing. i liked getting married young. some people are more mature at 17 then others

  24. 24

I hope mommy has lots of cash to support his ass and bail him outta this one.
17 for the Love of GOD!!!!

  25. 25

From the previews I've seen of her show..I thought he was gay too. Not that theres anything wrong with that of course..I'm a straight girl who is not homophobic. But good for him..just because he's engaged at 17 doesn't mean he's going to get married at 17..they could be engaged for 10 years for all we know..it does happen people can be engaged for years before actually tying the knot.

  26. 26

All arguments aside, he'll be 18 in one year and legally able to get married whenever he wants… so what's the point of her being against his "engagement" now? He'd probably try to run off and elope if his mother was against his engagement. Teens love to rebel.

On another note, my husband and I got informally engaged when we were 16. We waited till after college to get hitched…and, after 7 years together, we're just as happy–if not happier!–as we were at 16. It's not for everybody, but judging someone's love life according to our own terms is wrong– whether the subject is 17 or 50.

  27. 27

They could stay engaged for YEARS….it does not mean they need to be married soon, they are just committed. Maybe a promise ring would have been better but sometimes young marriages work, and its true, many people who get married older GET DIVORCED TOO. There is no stat that says the 50% of divorces that occur are mainly young couples.

It is a bit young but if they wait a few years and plan life out, it could go really well

  28. 28

engaged is not married. maybe they wont marry at all, and if they do, please let it be in another couple of years…

  29. 29

I was engaged at 17, and I am happily married. Theres nothing wrong with it. Age is just a number

  30. 30

Just watched that interview. Kirstie and Ellen had zero chemistry together.

  31. 31

Re: La Garse – I think you are dead on - if she doesn't freak out, then he won't feel like rebelling, and it'll end naturally.

  32. 32

:::::TEAM KRISTIE::::: CONGRATS TO HER SON-FUCK U HATERS

  33. 33

Not To Be Rude Or Anything Like That,
But I Thought That Kid Was Gay!
Anyways… Maybe He Will Be Engage For A Long Time And
Stuff, It Doesn't Mean That He Will Marry Now…

  34. 34

Re: Elron Hubbard - Con Man – How true!!!!! Oh yeah, and she's an idiot.

  35. 35

Yeah, she's not an expert at anything… one look at her career, her personal life — her BODY! No one should be considering marriage at that age, even if there is a pregnancy. My mother made that mistake and she wasted 30 years with an abusive man. I got married after living for a year with my husband (after knowing him two years) and we're still together 28 years later. But that wasn't without WORK. At 17, you need to know what life is first before you commit to another person. Sometimes I think "engagement" is just a teen's way of saying I have permission to be having sex

  36. 36

If the kid is a Scientologist… Scientology forbids sex without marriage. Of course certain Scientologists are EXEMPT from this.. ie: Tom Cruise.

  37. 37

Kirstie is just continuing her, 'Life Plan of No Rules and Regulations'.
I can remember when KA was the hottest thing that moved.
    -
    Now:
Drugs, Liquor and Food - no limits, consume everything
Children - no limits, no guidelines, anything they want
Self - no limits, anything goes
    Men - gone
    -
    True, don't get married.
    Join the military.
It's a better path for you than the one you are embarking on.
    Just more chaos.
You will not find what you're looking for.
Call up Macaulay Culkin before you do this.
    Please. Don't have babies.
You'll just bring the same chaos to your little babies.

  38. 38

Isn't the girl Kirstie's cleaning lady or something? Is she on "Big Life", too?

  39. 39

Re: Puke – they're members of CO$, they're not allowed to be gay

  40. Aries says – reply to this

    40

What a shitty parent! She'll be forking over the big $$$ for a divorce, guaranteed.

  41. 41

I kinda agree with what she's saying here, but 17 IS young.

  42. 42

well i know you might say it was diffrent times when i explain this…

my grandmother was 16 when she met my grandfather 23, they got engaged when my gran was 17 married when she was 18 and her first child at 19 (they had another four by the time she was 26) and they were married for 52 years until my grandfather passed away, and truthfully they were still in love all that time.

  43. 43

Re: Diva-Babe – Today, we have more options available to us.
Knowing KA's history, and stability, do you really believe they'll make it, like your amazing grandparents?
KA can't keep a partner for a year. True is going to make it a lifetime?
Yeah, and Obama's first priority are jobs, jobs, jobs.
    It's a crappy idea.
He wouldn't be the first person to get married to get away from their crazy ass parents though.
    Poor kid.

  44. 44

well it's a matter of opinion.
remember back when teenagers used to bear children??
    yeah.

  45. 45

    oh wait!
    that's still happening :/
how about when teenagers get married??

  46. 46

like she said, she doesn't have any right telling him not to.

  47. 47

It's great that parents want to show support for their kids but THERE ARE LIMITS!!!!!!!

  48. 48

Silly Perez talking shit again about something you know nothing about. My husband and I were engaged at 17, married at 18… We are now both 22 with 2 darling daughters who are 1 and 3. We will have been together for 6 years in October this year, and proudly celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary in November. We are more in love now than we were in high school. Sometimes, people really do know what true love is that young. People seem to forget that not all that long ago it wasn't uncommon for people to marry right out of high school and stay together for their whole lives. :D
People told us it would never last and we certainly have hit bumps in the road but we both believe in the commitment we made, and in our family. We believe in working the hard stuff out instead of just calling it quits. As long as two people are willing to do that, any relationship could survive.

  49. 49

    @iloverickymartin-
My husbands family bribed him with paying for college in hawaii and a new car to dump me, he told em where to stick it. They also banned him from seeing me until he took another girl on a date, so he took a close mutual friend of ours to a movie to please them and then came over to my house.

  50. 50

true on that perez she is a wacktress

  51. 51

Who are you to judge? Who is ANYONE to judge? Seriously…not everyone acts/thinks the exact same and has the exact same maturity level at any given age. Just because you, Perez, might have been an immature prepubescent boy at age 17 does not mean every other 17 year old guy is. I am currently dating someone years younger than me…and he acts more mature than my previous boyfriend, who was older than me. Case in point.

  52. 52

The cons definitely outweigh the pros with teenage engagement/marriage. But who's to know if it will work out or not? That's the beauty of life. You live and you learn.

  53. 53

Parker Stevens and Kirstie adopted both kids together but since Kirstie and the kids are Scientologists I guess he doesn't have a say in the matter.

  54. 54

Mario - You make look Kirstie Alley look like Kate Moss, you enormous pile of elephant discharge.

  55. 55

but, alas, if he were gay or someone elses son you wouldn't have a problem at all.

  56. 56

my frends parents got married at 17..ther celebrating ther 26 marriage anniversary this year.

  57. 57

i've been with the same person since i was 14. got engaged at 16. married at 17. we're now 25 and still going strong. it's not impossible to find true love at that age. not probably, but possible.
