A Jersey Shore spinoff is in the works that will take viewers from the filthy, sandy beaches of Seaside Heights to the filthy, historical streets of Beantown.

MTV is currently casting Wicked Summer, a show just like the Jersey Shore, but set in Boston. The casting site for the new series explains that they are looking for "blue collar, hard working, harder partying, tough talking, damn good looking Mass natives from all over the state" to star in the docusoap.
Same shiz, different accent.
Wonder if they will take up residence at 127 Mt. Vernon Street in Beacon Hill? Might as well!

Speaking as someone from Massachusetts who goes to Boston frequently (and will be living there in the next few months) Boston is actually very clean compared to other major cities like New York. Don't diss us because some stupid show is coming here. And I can guarantee they're going to find stupid frat kids who will play it up like crazy because we use different slang. Not everyone "tahks like this when theyah from Boston"

That title doesn't make any sense. Wicked Summer? It's using wicked the British way, not the Boston way. Come on MTV. If you're going to make fun of Bostonians, at least do it properly. Wicked Pissah would've been better–though I'm sure they'd never allow Pissah to be part of a title.

The only major difference is that these people will ACTUALLY be from the state they're starring in, unlike the New Yorkers in Jersey Shore. They should all go home and MTV should hire real Jerseyans.

I am from New Jersey, and have been living in Boston for 5 years. Boston is great if you avoid the trash, like ANYWHERE. We make fun of the North Shore and Rhode Islanders (hello, Family Guy anyone!?) all of the time, it's hilarious.
Now, you must not forget that people who actually LIVE IN BOSTON PROPER don't speak that way. Note* You will run into these people on "game days": this means when the celtics, redsox, bruins, or any other boston teams are playing — expect them to be flooding the typical bar spots and American restaurants (eh, why would you go to these places ANYWAY?).
Open your mind and remember that a plethora of excellent universities are in Boston and MANY post grads stay in boston: Harvard, MIT, Tufts, BU, Northeastern, Suffolk, Emerson, Berklee, New England Conservatory, New England Law School, etc etc.
So if you want to know where to avoid, it's pretty simple:
Landsdowne Street and Quincy Market are for sure NO GO's… especially Tequila Rain, come on, they advertise on the radio.
Go to Drink in Fort Point, Bar Lola on Commonwealth Ave, Beacon Hill Pub if you're seriously into dive bars, Mini Bar in Copley, BOND, ALIBI, M Bar, anywhere in the South End, or the lounge at the 4 Seas[ons]. Boylston street isn't even all that bad, as long as its not a "game day"!!!!

sounds pretty interesting and i'd probably watch it, shows like jersey shore and the real world = mindless television = best kindof television.
yea, actually i know the kids who are shooting the pilot. i have partied with them they are shooting at places such as Rumor, Estate, and Bond. Its all drama so it should get good ratings when it airs. i would rather be left out of the show though considering the negative media that comes along with it. have fun watching these kids get drunk and drive their range rovers to each others condos and to and from the clubs.

First off - it's "Wicked Summah", hommage to one of Boston's supposed "catch phrases" "wicked pissah" (meaning 'really cool'). And like someone else said, this is just going to be a bunch of freaks who will be over-the-top stereotyped Bostonites… SO unlike the other 99.99% of us here in the metro Boston area. So, do not stereotype people who live in or around Boston by the idiots that are going to be cast in this crapholiest of shows.

I have lived in Boston my whole life, i know they won't show Boston for what it really is! They will show a trashed boston and ya MTV sucks for doing this, but Perez doesn't suck for reporting it, i mean i'm glad i know in advance!

Okay first of all, speaking as someone who is from the Boston area, Boston is a very clean, high end city; unlike New York or an city in Jersey. If you want a "Jersey Shore" type show based in Boston, do it in Revere = TRASH. Or Seabrook, New Hampshire. Instead of guidos and guidettes, you'll have insest/ redneck brookers (brookahs).
