| Filed under: TV NewsSad Sad

No, that isn't a joke. We literally mean this is SAD!

Check out this preview for Starz's new original series Gravity. (above)

It's about suicidal people - take that Showtime!

The only thing that truly surprises us about this is how Lifetime didn't come up with it for an original movie first.

So if you want to be depressed for 45 minutes, be sure to tune in!

christ Perez. You wouldn't know an interesting show if it bit you on the ass….you think Pattinson can act and Gag-gag is an artist….but you think the idea of this show is stupid? Get a clue!

  2. 2

i don't think that the show is meant to be depressing at all, maybe it will inspire those who are depressed/suicidal to look beyond their problems and realize that there is more to life…

  3. 3

Funny thing is one of the actors in that show used to be on a show called Starved about people with eating disorders. Actually a really good show that unfortunately got cancelled

  4. 4

to be honest , it doesn't look bad

  5. 5

I'd watch for sure if you were on it.

  6. 6

you could probably use your broadway audition tape to get on this show…
I know I felt suicidal when I saw it

  7. koe says – reply to this

It doesn't look depressing to me… more uplifting. I think its a very interesting premise for a show, I'll watch the first episode to see what its like.

And isn't that girl from Veronica Mars?

    Re: blacklily.of.the.valley – HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH YES

Fuck you Perez! Seriously. There's finally going to be a show about people who rarely get a voice…and its about people dealing with a serious issue. Fuck you Perez…its obvious you dont have any sort of heart or you would understand how serious depression and mental illness is. Maybe it would be nice for a change to have a show based on something real.

Maybe it will help those who feel like all is worthless like they aren't alone for 45 minutes a week and make them realize that they aren't the only one feeling the way they do. You such a heartless asshole.

It actually doesn't look half bad.

Real life isn't about hollywood. People who live in the real world don't live lives where their biggest problem is brawl with a star. People in the real world face real tragedies that often make them real f*$%ing depressed. So why not? It looks better than the Tyra banks show. Or E! (a.k.a let me follow these celebutards around and lick their asses like lost dogs).

  11. 11

this is just sad- its exploitative of desperately needy people who need help, not be FILMED BY A FUCKING TV SHOW. FUCK STARZ!!

  12. 12

This looks terrible. The promo makes it seem like very serious mental/emotional/neurological issues can be waved away if you meet the right boy/girl, and suddenly years of brooding torment will dissolve into a Disneyfied field of sunshine, lollipops and rainbows. From the clips (e.g. "Forgive me, father, for I have…committed adultery [on my dead wife]"), it doesn't look like much thought went into characterization either. Expect shock and outrage from the medical community, a guest spot from Dr. Drew, and spectacular ratings.

  13. 13

Heeeeeey, its that girl from Breaking Bad.

  14. 14

Re: allycakes – i loved that fucking show!
    i'm still so mad! >.

  15. 15

    lol!
too bad they tell u the whole first season. lol

it looked interesting..if it was more dark..and not so light-hearted.

  16. 16

it actually looks pretty good, again you miss the mark on this one too. you are so lame and so out of touch.

  17. 17

Looks good to me……it actually might help someone. At least it has a message. I am so tired of reality TV….that's what should die.

  18. 18

I love the cast, and if I had starz, I would probably watch the show. I don't understand why Perez is acting like this is a stupid idea for a show; Suicide is a huge issue that almost never gets talked about unless a "celebrity" commits or attempts, there is so much stigma there that no one wants to touch it. I'm glad they're doing this.

oh and @allycakes, I loved 'Starved' and was sad to see it get cancelled, FX really did not give it a good enough chance.

  19. 19

    Sounds interesting!

  20. 20

I can think of several people that I might like to see on the show……Jesse James for instances. Yup, I'd be rootin for ya.!!!

  21. 21

geez its not that bad dont be so dramatic! i think it could be a decent show, and that dark haired actress is really pretty..

  22. 22

this looks like a comedy and why do u make it like its real for the suicide and it makes me cry that how fake this is

  23. 23

OMG this is the show for perez to guest on

  24. 24

    That actually looks really good.

  25. 25

I'm sure it'll be very corny and expected. Yawn.

  26. 26

Ivan Sergei is the sexxxxiest man ever!!!! Jack and Jill FOREVER!!

  27. 27

This looks good Perez. Seriously its a drama that can touch people showing them that suicide isnt always the path. Of course it is a touching theme, but it must be touched.
You have no clue, Perez, you are tasteless.

  28. 28

this actually makes me angry, i useally love to read Perez but this series that you are mocking? it is really important for people to understand and accept what depression does to people, it shouldent be a tabooed topic and you are being disgusting in your responce. for someone who has the media power to effect young teenages and their feelings i think you should talk a look at what you are doing.

  29. 29

this makes me so angry there could be such better shows on tv….. perfect example…… DEAD LIKE ME … such a good show but only lasted two seasons, this show wont last

  30. 30

Aren't we getting closer and closer of what M. Carlin said about a suicidal channel with live suicides? i think he was not very far…

  31. 31

Feel good show of the year! Seriously though, maybe good for "non-depressed" people to understand depression.

  32. 32

It's high time SOMEBODY started talking about this very painful issue. IMHO, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem (with very rare exceptions). The series seems hopeful and about a very depressing subject - a subject that should be discussed a lot more often, especially at NYU. And I love seeing Ving Rhames in action.

  33. 33

i think it looks pretty good
