Another Remake Fresh From The Slaughterhouse!

Okay seriously - ENOUGH!

Are original movies even being made in Hollywood anymore??

Paramount is apparently hopping on the shiteous remake bandwagon and developing a film based on the cartoon Mighty Mouse!

Brian and Mark Gunn, who penned the upcoming sequel to Journey To The Center Of The Earth, were the most recent writers on the project. Several people have tried to resurrect Mighty Mouse but by the time the script was finished, new execs were no longer interesting in the flick.

And we can't blame them! The best writers on Earth couldn't make that watchable!

A new director and writer have yet to sign on.

What do U think?? We can't believe we're even asking, but would U go see a Mighty Mouse movie??

Remakes have been done for as long as theater and cinema has existed. I don't hear Broadway fans complaining because they might be showing a production of Auntie Mame, even though it has been around for years and years. Or what about Peter Pan, or Annie Get Your Gun? Nobody complains about any "lack of originality".
And movies are no different. Movies or themes that have fared well at the box office or on television are often re-done so that a new generation can appreciate them and yes, so that the producers can make a fortune. Ocean's Eleven, Cape Fear, Nutty Professor, Thomas Crown Affair, You've Got Mail, Scarface, King Kong, The Preacher's Wife……these are ALL remakes. And most of them, I feel, are better than the original.
And yes, I would definitely take my kids to see the new Mighty Mouse movie. They are too young to have seen him on TV and have no idea who he is. I think they would really enjoy it.

I would check it out (and by the way, I enjoyed Journey to the Center of the Earth w/ Brenden Fraser).

God Perez, stop screaming like a queen.

(And by the way, a prequel of The Wizard of Oz, that ok? Naturally. You sound so gay when you rave about thing like this.)

For one thing, a Mighty Mouse movie wouldn't be a remake. It would be an adaptation of the original series from the mid 40's and the theatrical cartoons of the 50"s. It would be interesting how they could bring the character into the 21st century.

(You - and your different avatar who contradict themselves daily - have no taste whatsoever in music, art, cinema, theatre and sports. Just stick to gossip.

    No new ideas

It needs a movie douchebag. It was a silly but cute, loveable cartoon that wasn't really that big. So yes it would be cool. Not all remakes have to be bad.

I'd watch it if Ralph Bakshi and John Krickfalusi did it. ('The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse'/Ren and Stimpy).

this was one of my favs - yeah Im old - and although I don't have a particular love of remakes I have to admit that Mighty Mouse is old enough and not commercialized enough to reach this newer younger generation - therefore a remake might work, MIGHT - with proper handling and I am assuming you mean he will remain animated…here I come to save the day

    i would NOT
