Neil is nothing but a class act all the way. He's got that smooth George Clooney style.

  3. 3

I think NPH is a great guy and I don't support any type of violence directed to sexual minorities, but if anyone said "AMAZEBALLS" to my face I would beat them mercilessly.

  4. 4

AMAZEBALLS! For those times when you want to come across as a douche who is trying to hard! AMAZEBALLS! Why limit your vocabulary to words that people other than you use? AMAZEBALLS! Because you want to remove all doubt about how much of a wanker you are!

  5. 5

Dear Rupert, Bad plastic surgery is what is REALLY detrimental to your career, that, and making ANY movie with Madonna.

  6. 6

I love any and everything having to do with NPH!!!

I Agree With NPH!! Rupert can blame anything he wants.. but coming out and being proud of who u r in an industry that is full of LGBT should not be the reason your career tanks! It's the quality and class of an actor that makes them great not their sexuality!

  9. 9

Neil is absolutely delightful and a master of the classy rebuttal, indeed. I want to know what that blonde bitch interrupted him at one point and just hijacked the rest of the segment. How rude! Also: Perez what is the deal with you saying Amazeballs all the fucking time? I hate it! Everyone hates it! Stop!

  10. 10

AMAZEBALLS… Fuck you sperm breath with your stupid lingo. You like him cause he’s gay, plain & simple

American internet is driving me BONKERS! I can't watch all 20 versions I've found of this video because I live in a different country! Does anyone know where I can watch this from New Zealand?

  12. 12

Being out is not detrimental to an actors career as long as you adopt a somewhat normative behaviour relating to traditional gender dualism within the heterosexual matrix (aka not stretching the boundaries too far) . There are (of course) exceptions, but at least we're getting there. There's nothing intellectual about relating context to context by just making general assumptions as those in the video above. Anyways, I like both Rupert and Neil… no one is actually "right", bot no one is "wrong" either.

  13. 13

I've always liked Neil Patrick Harris and and Ricky Martin. Their coming out had no effect on the way I felt about them. They give gay men a good name and are among the classiest men in Hollywood.

  14. 14

    Neil Patrick all the way!!

  15. 15

Can someone please write what he said?

I live in France and can't watch this video here due to stupid copyrights.

I'm sure it's classy. Neil is always awesome :)

    Re: theNumberOfTheBeast – SPERM BREATH…HAHAHA

  17. 17

You know what "Perez Hilton"? Neil Patrick Harris *IS* a class act. You aren't even worthy to mention his name, let alone be of the same species.

  18. 18

Copyright issues — so no video. And I agree, "Amazeballs" is something that we all hate, Mario. Stop using it. No one speaks this way "cray cray"

  19. 19

Both have a point… unfortunately. There are a hell of a lot of ignorant people on this planet and until they're educated properly careers will be ruined for some gay and lesbian people. Sad but true.

  20. MUNON says – reply to this

Too bad that he is so narrow minded; because he's been lucky now, doesn't mean that there was no discrimination 25 years ago for talented actors like Rupert Everett. Or maybe he doesn't know who Rupert is.

  21. 21

I love Neil Patrick Harris, Ricky Martin, AND Rupert Everett. I don't think being gay would necessarily stall your career, even if you're a romantic lead the way Rupert was pitched. One of the greatest tv romantic characters IMO was Frasier's Niles Crane, played by David Hyde Pierce. True, he wasn't very public about his sexuality but anyone who cared to know, knew, and he was absolutely fabulous. I bought every minute of his beautiful, pining, love for Daphne. I feel the same for Neil Patrick Harris. Their real-life sexuality has almost no bearing on the believability of the story and character they are showing me when they're working. Rupert was always hot (before the plastic surgery) and if being gay effected his career, I think maybe it was because of the time… and maybe, just a little bit, because he was always more of a pretty face than a fine actor… though he has a theatre background and some may disagree… maybe Rupert's better on stage?

  22. 22

PS. Oh and I believe when Rupert Everett made his claim, he was speaking directly about being a male romantic lead (filling a particular "niche") as opposed to any working actor.

  23. 23

Well done. RP's main problem is that he broke out a bit later in his career and there is an inbetween between the hot guy and the older hot gentleman and he broke kinda in the inbetween which made it hard for him to go places. Also I agree with Neil, you can blame it on a bunch of things to your management to whatever. I doubt the gay thing had anything to do with it, after all he played a gay guy in My Best Friends Wedding and did it well, it was a sucess. I really hope he is not just bitching because nothing can kill a career faster than having an attitude of sour grapes. No one wants to hear it.

  24. 24

Queer with a giant forehead..who gives a shit!

  25. 25

"AMAZEBALLS" does not bother me in the least, it might if I had not already seen how Perez dresses. Fix the big things first bro.

  26. 26

he is awesome. i love nph. and i love him in harold and kumar.

  27. 27

NPH plays a womanizer on HIMYM and he is hilarious - because he is a great actor, you don't care what his sexual orientation is in his real life - the character he plays is believable - Look at the actors from years gone by that you've now come to know were gay or bi, when you watch those old films, does it matter? No, because at the end of the day, Everyone is Acting, that's the name of the game…And honestly, if someone is right for the role, that's it - I would watch Harvey Fierstein play a straight guy and Josh Holloway play a gay guy, Josh is hot, but I love, love, love Harvey and his voice

  28. 28

definitely agree with nph! i think rupert's career went downhill not because of his sexual orientation but because he didn't have the charm and charisma like nph to keep it up.

  29. 29

Aside from being a nasty, mean-spirited person, Rupert Everett has his truly horrid plastic surgery to thank for the decline of his career. He looks like someone's not-very-attractive aunt at this point - a shame, as he used to be rather handsome. (And the bigger shame is that he is a very good actor.)

  30. 30

Neil is so classy and so manly. Let's face it an effeminate guy like RE just can't pull off a straight roll whereas guys like Neil can. I reiterate Monty Clift was TOTALLY believable as a straight, gentle, vunerable man and he was anything but. It's all in the acting.

  32. 32

Greedy Americans hogging the internet. Do you lose money when people from other countries view a clip you posted?

  33. 33

Re: h8terboi – Buddy you are on the wrong blog. Poor parents?? WTF are you talking about dumbass? He is the man he is because he most obviously had damn good parents - unlike you obviously…..

  34. 34

If anything being gay probably helps you in the arts. NPH is frickin awesome and has fantastic comic timing. Plus he seems like a genuinely nice guy. I don't think anyone could care less that NPH is gay, he's just so entertaining. :) Rupert has no personality.

  35. 35

The are both right from thier own perspectives. They are from different generations and cultures.. Lets face it.. When Rupert was Niels age, there was no way gay people were publicly accepted let alone supported. Look at how many gay supporting posts perez puts on site.
There is still a long go before gay is just a happy word again not a distinction of difference. Until that day arrives there will be issues, stigma and troubles . How many generations did women fight for equal rights and do they have them yet? Different coloured skin, religion culture. no one is free of discrimination and fear. face the reaality, embrace the difference and fight each battle with grace and one day, our great grand children may not ever understaqnd the conflicts faced by our generations.

  36. 36

NPH is such a beautiful man. and i'm not talking about just his looks. every interview i see of him, he is classy and respectful and isn't afraid to take a jab at himself. i love him.

  37. 37

Re: h8terboi – closeminded people like you make me sad for humanity. poor parents? from what i've read and heard since neil came out, his parents are nothing but proud of their son. and if any of his friends are embarrassed by the fact that he's an openly gay man, then they aren't true friends. and since you clearly have a problem with gay men, why do you support one by visiting his website and commenting on it?

  38. 38

Re: Scissorhandz – what an ignorant thing to say. do you realize that americans often can't view videos that are on network sites from other countries?

  39. 39

I know that Harris is a gay man. But when I see him in a role, I don't think about what he does or does not do with his genitals. I don't CARE that he's a gay man; his sexuality, which is a private thing, doesn't enter into my enjoyment of his performance. This obsession with who is or who is not gay is a sick thing. I know that Perez can't think about anything else because his homosexuality is all that he is and so is all he can offer. And the comments about Harris (or anyone else who's gay) being "proud" of being gay are getting ridiculous. I'm heterosexual. Am I proud of it? Why no. It just is what it is. Let's shift the focus where it belongs: quality of acting and presentation of personal best instead of sexuality. Rupert does, however, have a point. While I can believe Harris, who IS a total class act, in the role of a heterosexual romantic lead, would anyone believe someone like an Adam Flamebert in the same role? No; probably not. And I agree with something someone else here said: Rupert ruined his face with plastic surgery. If he has problems getting roles, he might want to fix his face.

  40. 40

NPH would never publically blame a career slump or permanent downturn on his sexuality or anything else but his own lack of performance because he's all talent and no diva. That cannot be said for Rupert.

  41. 41

Maybe 10 years ago being out of the closet would hurt an actor but now it doesn't really matter as long as the actor doesn't try to shove being gay down everyone's throats. Neil is awesome.

  42. 42

I love NPH, but I knew he was gay when I saw him in Claras Heart with Whoopie. By the way, my cousin Judith saw Whoopie last week and said she was absofuckinfantabulous!

  43. 43

why would he be a dick to Rupp? He's a great guy and Rupert has a point. How many fan girls do you think a young actor is going to collect if they "come out"at the begining of they're career?
besides everyone always knew Dookie Houser was gay
