Wowsa!

Valerie Bertinelli completed the Boston Marathon yesterday in 5:14:37 just a few days before her 50th birthday!

Valerie said after the race:

"I am so high right now, more high than if I'd had a bottle of champagne! I feel euphoric! When I turned the corner and saw the finish line, I turned the music off and just enjoyed the crowd.

"I am blissful! It's like each day gets better in my life. I gotta ask, 'What have I done to deserve so much grace and so many gifts?! I feel surprisingly well, mentally and physically. I wonder if it's anything like childbirth where you forget how painful it was. I think I had a pretty amazing time!"

Good for you, sweetie! What an achievement!

  2. 2

Excuse me perez, but who the FUCK is this? and why should I care that some overweight middle aged woman ran a marathon? enlighten me??

  3. 3

Isn't 5 hours reallllly slow? Is it still a marathon if you walk it?

  4. 4

It takes a strong person to change their life at fifty. Enlightenment of the soul is what life should be about. Congrats on your awakening!!!!

  5. 5

I just love Valerie. Running the marathon is such an accomplishment!! Congrats.

I love these *probably* young, overweight couch potatoes (for whom typing is the only exercise they get) criticizing the accomplishment of finishing a marathon. Regardless of your age and finish time, it is an awesome accomplishment! I guess they do it because it makes them feel a little better about their pathetic selves. Great job, Valerie!!

"I'm so high right now…I haven't felt this way since I ruined Van Halen."

Re: BigRedEd – she didn't ruin Van Halen…David Lee did!!!

Completing the Boston Marathon is quite an accomplishment. My only questions is, where the hell did her neck go?

  11. 11

I glued Little Debbies to the back of my tank top and ran in front of her. : )

  12. 12

Yea Valerie! Well done - you just keep getting better!

Re: williamjaco – 26.2 miles is 26.2 miles whether you run or walk, so STFU!

  14. 14

    Good for her!!!!

  15. 15

Yes-Valerie roks! She ran for charity and is using her celebrity(real) for something positive and to help others. Its very unusual-and refreshing to see in these times of all the fake-wannabe-"celebrities" who stoop to anything for attention!!

  16. 16

Of course she ran for charity, you can't run Boston Marathon unless you qualify. You have to have run a marathon recently in under 8 minute miles or less depending on your age. 5 hours plus is about a 12 minute mile. Still, it's a commendable effort.

  17. 17

REAL runners actually run the race, they don't walk along giving thumbs up. Also, you can criticize me, but I am a running coach and marathoner, I think I have a say on this matter.

Re: PEREZmakesME-WET – well dildo breath you seem to know about the overweight part so it must be one of your other personalities who has to ask who the fuck she is. Or are you just saying that for effect? Either way you're an idiot. She looks good and the fact she even finished the thing tells me she's in decent shape. Not too bad for 5o who's not a professional athlete. That's the context you should keep in mind befor you open that homely hole of yours. oh and PS she's not everweight anymore. Or are you one of those who believe middle age women with a BMI of over 19 are overweight. Pretentious, perhaps schitzophrenic and delusional. Nice life you must have.

Re: allie6481 – Congratulations on being a REAL runner. If I could pat you on the back, I would. (Although I'm sure you do that enough for yourself) If you would look REALLY closely at the picture, I think you would realize that it was taken AFTER Valerie completed the race. (I hope you don't take offfense at the term "race" when applied to Valerie) I hardly think she "walked along" the entire 26 miles carrying a bouquet of flowers and giving the thumbs up. The picture shows a lady who has achieved a personal goal and is proud of it. And whether or not she ran the entire race without walking at all matters nothing. But your post is completely ignorant and truly disgusting. And again, GO VALERIE!!

    wow she looks bad there

  21. 21

How the heck did she get in to run Boston?! MUST have been for charity, because you can only run Boston if you run it in under 3:50 minutes for a woman her age. Also, you cant' wear headphones at the Boston Marathon. Sneaky, sneaky!!!!

  22. 22

It doesn't matter what her time was at all in this race, she completed the race thats all that matters.
