Ugly Betty star Eric Mabius has been tapped to join Outcasts, and eight-episode, big-budget miniseries for the U.K.'s top producing company.
The sci-fi series, set in 2040, is about a group of people who flee from Earth after a biological catastrophe wipes out most of the human race. Some 50,000 emigrants from Earth find another life supporting planet in a neighboring solar system and get to work building a new civilization. Eric is set to play the vice president of the evacuation program.
You Brits will have to let us know how this one goes.

didnt the bbc just ditch a similar series which i think was called survivors? it wasnt in space but it was a group of people left after after something wiped out everyone else. got dumped cos no one was watching it.
