Premium beer at a low price? We're listening!

7-Eleven, the third largest beer retailer in the United States, is coming out with their own brand of beer called Game Day.

The beer is being made at the City Brewery in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and Game Day comes in two varieties including Game Day Light and Game Day Ice priced between $6.99 and $8.99 a pack.

We don't see this catching on with beer connoisseurs, but we definitely think the college kids will check it out before tailgating!

Will U be trying the 7-Eleven beer?

Dan Patrick from ESPN suggested 7-11 needs to make a beer slurpie called, The Burpie. How awesome would that be? Haha. Big Gulp size.

  2. 2

Good luck with that in Pennsylvania. We have an archaic system where you can only buy alcohol through state run/sanctioned businesses and not grocery stores. It would be nice to be able to walk in a store and buy a bag of chips and a six pack for a game once in a while.

  3. 3

It will flop. The beer market is already saturated. There are already good beers that sell for less than that.

  4. 4

Yay LaCrosse! At least it keeps the brewery open. It almost closed a few years ago and would've put lots of people out of work. I miss that town.

  5. 5

Crazy thing is we don't even have 7-11's here! I think the closest one is in Iowa!

  6. 6

we'll come up with any excuse to brew and drink more beer here in good ol' wisco. *burp*

ummmm…considering the ages of the people this blog is OBVIOUSLY aimed at, it would be safe to guess MOST aren't even old enough to buy beer!

(What adult is obsessed with tween singers and teenage actors…another teen or someone with the mentality of one)

Considering most College Kids are under 21 & already alcoholics, this should be a HUGE SUCCESS!

put it on the shelf right next to natural ice and steel reserve.

  16. 16

Oh great! Now we will have even more homeless filth begging for money outside the local 7-11.

    Re: phelen219
It was a different economy back then and maybe the Japanese owners of 7-11 can find a better marketing team to help it find it's niche. Whoever said college age is spot on. Beer Pong much? Private label has come along way in the past 10 years to compete with national brands. As for quality– Anyone know if 7-11 is producing this themselves or did they liscence out the brand name?
