After an Islamic militia ordered radio stations to stop playing music in Somalia, two stations in the capital of Mogadishu closed out of fear and left others uncertain of their futures!
The government quickly rescinded the order, but the future of the radio stations is unknown because according to a Somali radio director "each side is telling you to do his bidding. We are confused. We don't know what will come next.
Hizbul Islam had labeled music un-Islamic when they issued their edict, but the government is telling the radio stations that they can resume operations.
The Somali government has been unstable for quite some time and some fear that they cannot protect its civilians from the violence running rampant in the country.
