Bret Michaels In CRITICAL CONDITION After Severe Brain Hemorrhage!
Oh no!
Bret Michaels has been rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition after suffering from a MASSIVE subarachnoid hemorrhage last night!
A source reveals:
"After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation."
Subarachnoid hemorrhaging, which is bleeding at the base of one's brain stem, is often a complication from diabetes, which Michaels is known to suffer from.
Reports are also stating that:
According Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, people who don't receive proper medical treatment after suffering a subarachnoid hemorrhage have a 20% to 30% chance of experiencing a second bleed within the first month — and the odds of surviving a second bleed are extremely slim.
We sincerely hope for his speedy recovery!

Many people hit their head and think they are fine only to have serious complications later! Not to scare you but you made it sound serious (you compared it to Bret's brain hemorrhage after all)! Ice is hard too so I'm sure you have a nice bump… ouch! Hope everything's ok and it's just a bruise - Im sure it is. Also, glad to hear Bret is doing a little better, here's hoping it continues!

Re: PENNSYLVANIA GIRL – I know exactly what you mean. Juvenile Diabetes is such an awful thing, my dad was diagnosed when he was 8 years old, and fought it until it took him at 46. He had 8 heart attacks, a stroke, among about 100 other conditions.
I wish you people would not look at his mistakes, or the way he treats women, and just pray for him during this difficult time. Having lost my father so young, I hope his daughters don't have to go through that anytime soon. Also, Bret has been very open about his partying, hes said he's been an alcoholic, drank a lot, but never touched drugs. So, don't blame this on drugs, or the way he treats women. Nobody is perfect. I've seen what diabetes does to someone, and there's nothing you can do to deserve to go through what that disease puts you through. I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy.

clots, after a major surgery, are not uncommon. Throw in a dose of diabetes and he's in real trouble. I love this guy, and only wish him the best. hey perez why do you care? ??? a week ago he was in the hospital with medical problems and you said that it was probably for attention. all you do is hate on people but when something happens to them you say its horrible and pray for them or whatever retarded bs that comes out of your mouth. i do like reading the gossip but your comments i choose to ignore! you really should be ashamed of yourself for things you post and say that are not nessasary! excuse me for any mis spelling!

No matter what your opinion of Bret Michaels is and his lifestyle, music, hair extensions and affinity for the ladies, you have to give him credit for something major - raising awareness of diabetes. He may not be someone that the ADA would select as their spokesperson, but you can't deny he has put his diabetes story out there and now is facing the possibility that one of his daughters may also be diabetic. I hope he recovers.
I had the same thing happen to me several years ago…they repaired it and then put me into a month-long medically induced coma. I'm one of the lucky ones. Many don't survive. I hope and pray that Bret will be OK.

Oh you said no right? Then leave him the fuck alone! My mom and I have met him and he is a wonderful person and amzingly nice and open hearted! Oh no, he seems like the nicest guy. I didn't know that much about him, but watching Celebrity Apprentice I saw what a sweet guy he is, very bright and a wonderful team player. Aw I feel so bad. This is not something you bounce back from, but I hope he does. I'll keep him in my prayers. What a shame. Instead of posting nasty things, reach in your pockets and donate to diabetes. Fight the good fight Bret, you can do it!

I didn't know much about him until Celebrity Apprentice. He really has been one of the nicest, best contestants that they've ever had. He has a very positive inclusive attitude. I wish him the best!

I wish I had a dirrect line to the loved ones of Bret Michaels to give them some hope. My partner had a rare brain bleed, 4% chance of recovery. It happened Dec. 23, 2009, just 4 months ago. Today he is amazing. We both watched The Apprentice tonight knowing what is about to happened to Bret in the real world, are thoughts and prayer are with you all.

I had the same hemorrhage one yr ago. I just came back to work a week ago. It is imperative to have treatment ASAP!
An angiogram with contrast iodone with a CT/MRI/MRA will find the bleed.
I went to USC and had the finest team of neurosurgeons operate to clip, NOT coil the aneurysm. I also had my son Rob there involved in all the conferences and decisions with the neurosurgeons. They made him feel as part of the team. This is a very critical situation.
