      It takes a lot of time to get the lighting and shadows just right in several of those shots. Kudos to the folks at Glee for replicating the "effect" so well. It's one thing to dress up and look the same, but to get the "feel" the same, took work. And of course, it's a real editing challenge! I think they are finding some interesting scenery to chew on

      They did do a good job, but I don't really see the point of just copying something else, it's never going to be as good. Why didn't they do their own 'version' of it, i.e., get a bit creative, seems a bit pointless to me.

      I just love Madonna's face in the video. Vogue is one of the all time greatest videos and the fact that Glee and Madonna teamed up just shows how relevant Madonna is and also gives people a different Madonna than the one they are used to seeing now. Classic, iconic and of course, Madonna gives great face the whole time. Sue Sylvester's rendition was funny.

Gaga's rise to fame is not even half of what it was like when Madonna came onto the scene. You have to realize that much of Gaga's fame has to do with the internet…Madonna mania spread across the world just by her videos and appearances on TV and news papers. Madonna is a classic, a legend and icon. Lady Gaga is no where near that or ever will be unless she's around for another 25 years like Madonna has. The internet has been around for a good 15 plus years now, yet there's not that many artists in those past 15 years that's had quite an impact as Lady Gaga on the whole music scene.

      Re: chickster – This is a show about a high school glee club. Glee clubs sing covers. Their originality is in the form of vocal talent, arrangement and orchestration. They "remade" the Vogue video with the kind of satire only the wonderful Jane Lynch as Sue Sylvester can pull off. If you watched the show you would see why. The fact that it stays so true to the original only adds to its awesomeness.

Just the fact that she was nowhere mentioned in the original post, yet she is always brought up by Madonna fans just shows she's a powerful force. Whether or not she'll last 25 years or 25 minutes has yet to be seen, but even if she fades into obscurity, people will remember her years from now. People haven't forgotten about Cyndi Lauper, have they?
      People don't need another lecture on Madonna's greatness. Posting sales figures and other propaganda isn't going to change anyone's opinion about her. Her longevity–twenty-five years– is really just a drop in the bucket. U2 and AC/DC have been doing this for a little over 30 years. Cher, Paul McCartney, and Barbra Streisand have been doing it for over 40. Sinatra was active in the business for over sixty years when he died.
      As far as Madonna doing electronica as far back as 1996, I think she was a little late jumping on the bandwagon: Donna Summer was doing that back in 1977.
