AMAZING!

Yu Pengnian, Chinese real estate mogul, has moved his entire $1.2 billion fortune into his foundation for charity to help poor people in China.

He made his final donation of $470 million in cash and property to the charity he has been contributing to since its opening in 2003.

The foundation funds cataract surgeries for people in China as well as other monetary support for poverty stricken citizens in the country. Yu's children have agreed to his generous donation and he says:

"If my children are more capable than me, it's not necessary to leave a lot of money to them. If they are incompetent, a lot of money will only be harmful to them."

Wow! We are truly impressed!

Yap, I think this is fascinating, and such a good thing to do. He should make a contest of it … who can outdo him, or something.
As for his kids … too funny. Sink or swim, like it should be !!

  3. 3

  4. 4

i feel like he may be the next nobel peace prize winner.

  5. 5

The world needs more kind souls like this guy. He is totally awesome! I love what he said about leaving money to his kids.

WOW very impressive indeed. If more "tycoons" were this generous and thought that much of their children there would be less Paris Hiltons and Greasy Bears in the world.

  7. 7

    awesome indeed!

Re: Ang M – I trust that Paris Hilton does, indeed, make lofty donations to charities that interest her. Last time I checked, she was pretty much self-sustaining, and no need for payouts from her family's weath.

  9. 9

    Wow, such generosity!

  10. 10

    very admirable, esp the quote

  11. 11

let's see Trump match this! yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaah, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

  12. 12

    Truly unbelievable! Bless his soul!

  13. 13

THAT TRULY IS IMPRESSIVE, AND THAT SHORT QUOTE SAYS IT ALL!! WHY CAN'T FUCKING HOLLYWOOD BE LIKE THIS?! HERE THEY ARE RACKING IN MONEY, AND TALK SHIT ABOUT HOW BAD THINGS ARE WITHOUT SETTING AN EXAMPLE THEMSELVES!! FUCK HOLLYWOOD!! IF COMMUNISTS CAN LEARN, WHY CAN'T LIBERALS?!

  14. 14

"If they are incompetent, a lot of money will only be harmful to them." So true, hes right on the money. What an amazing guy

  15. 15

More rich ass celebrities should follow his lead instead of spending millions of dollars on dumb shit like multiple houses they'll never live in, private jets and blood diamonds.

  16. 16

china is a communist country. he doesn't have a choice…. dumbasses.

  17. 17

That's a very sage comment. Awesome!

  18. 18

Re: ShoeWhore – Is it really necessary to get all offended over someone stating something over Paris Hilton? Everyone on here, is impressed and moved and happy. Why make an issue over this? Never, have I heard so many people be positive in one place in a very Very long time.

  19. 19

Chinese people are generally very kind and loving. They should be proud

  20. 20

    Oprah, it's your turn….

  21. 21

    Yu is my new hero.

  22. 22

Re: straighticketvoter – Of course he had a choice.. it's not like they force every single citizen to donate money, let alone $1.2 billion..

  23. 23

Wow what an amazing man!!! If only more people were like him….I am truly moved by the quote!!!!

  24. 24

Looks like the ChiComs didn't like the redesign of our U.S. $100 bill last week. The ChiComs apparently suggested to Obama that he can have his picture on the new, U.S. $3 dollar bill, as a concession for Mao being on the new U.S. $100 bill.
The person that writes the checks writes the rules!

  25. 25

    where is my comment?

  26. 26

While his actions is noble and kind by far no denying it but donating tons of money to most organizations is actually a waste of money..Like people that donate to cancer foundations. It's a waste. In order to cure cancer we would have to have complete control over every single cell in the body and also a complete understanding of RNA and DNA for a cure for cancer to even be reachable and that is nowhere near being done. So the money is better spent on starving kids, toys for tots, etc

  27. 27

Now he is what you call a hero

  28. 28

    Awesome guy!

  29. 29

Reading this post made me teary eyed!!

What a man. Just goes to prove that believing in humankind does not make you naive. His act of kindness is beyond AMAZING. It is inspiring!!!

And his quote just says it all.

  30. 30

Re: straighticketvoter – What an idiot lol…. He does have a choice the rich always have a choice… China may be comunist by name but not by nature anymore, its a superpower now and it didnt get thay way by being strickly communist you stupid redneck

  31. 31

This guy is really smart. If only more wealthy people felt this way, we wouldn't have to deal with the Paris Hilton's & Nicole Ritchie's of the world.

  32. 32

Was it a billion dollars or a billion Yuan? Big difference.

  33. 33

Re: Spindoc – It was a billion yuan which is a lot less than a billion US dollars…

  34. 34

best story youv'e ever posted Mario!

  35. 35

Bless him! What a sweet amazing man!

  36. 36

Wow! I love this guy! What a lovely man! Id be a little pissed if I were his kids but I totally agree with his reasoning. He is my idol

  37. 37

    that's very awesome of him!
    awesome! :)

  38. 38

The world needs more people like this. People with more money than they would ever be able to spend in a lifetime should try and help the less fortunate…. not buy entire houses for their doll collection…. just sayin'…

  39. 39

    Re: NoVaDJ
Retard, even the headline says it. its DOLLARS! If you dont believe Marios source, go google it..BITCH!
    haha..
    Anyway, this guy's a true saint :)

  40. 40

Re: Im Mina – I did Google it and it said Yuan…it's still a lot of money and he still did a nice thing, but you didn't have to call me a "retard".

  41. 41

Re: Im Mina – oops! The story I read was wrong, it was dollars…sorry! I am a retard!

  42. 42

righteous! It would be even more amazing is if this was widely practiced.

  43. 43

Good on him, sorta. Your comments made me think about the worlds most major issues, several come to mind. I would like to see wealthy people collectively address the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, or sustainable living and long-term recovery the poorest, third world countries where little kids pick through miles of trash for "food". It breaks my heart to know how well I live, and knowing this is their plight everyday. :/

Re: straighticketvoter – Wow. You need to read up; your regurgitated but sadly ignorant opinion is lacking real world knowledge.

  45. 45

It was 8.2 billion Yuan (1.2 billion US dollars). He had built his business from scratch and said that he likes "to support the poor because [he] used to be poor and [he] understands the misery of the poor people," Amazing and inspiring.

  46. 46

I hope the Chinese gov't thanks him for doing what they don't. What an honorable man and a blessing for so many. He will touch more peoples' lives through his charity.

  47. 47

Re: guiltypleazure – if it breaks your heart to know how well you live why don't you donate your turntables and two terrabytes of music to the needy?
