Iron Man 2 Getting Mixed To Bad Reviews!
Poor Robert Downey Jr.!
At least he continues to shine in the SMOKESHOW!
Iron Man 2 is not getting the acclaim it's predecessor did. In fact, most the reviews we've read have called it down right awful!
One source claimed it was "mind-numbingly dull, chaotic and unwatchable," calling the sequel a complete "travesty" compared to the original.
The Hollywood Reporter was kinder, but not by much, saying:
"Everything fun and terrific about 'Iron Man,' a mere two years ago, has vanished with its sequel. In its place, 'Iron Man 2' has substituted noise, confusion, multiple villains, irrelevant stunts and misguided story lines. A film series that started out with critical and commercial success will have to settle for only the latter with this sequel."
And in the end, that is all the studio is after.
No worries, RDJ! Your comeback is still intact!

Good, I'm so sick of comic book adaptations, video game adaptations, television adaptations, sequels, remakes etc…Think of something fucking original for once Hollywood, and I wish actors these days had some fucking dignity rather than just be out for the next big payday.
I like RDJ a lot. I don't care too much for Iron Man though, or comic book adaptations (except the Nolan-helmed Batmans). Especially now that abomination Mickey Rourke is involved, I'd never set foot in a theatre playing this sequel. He's so hard to look at, probably subconsciously making reviewers give bad press to the film. ScarJo is also a movie killer, if I'm not mistaken. It'll make a lot of money though, I'm sure. There's not many films more anticipated this summer.

i don't ask for much from the comic book movies, lots of ass kicking and cool GCI. but if it mega sucks like the 3rd Spider-Man then i won't bother getting the DVD.
maybe i have shit taste, but a lot of times i enjoy movies critics hate. i mean it's $8 to see a movie, i costs more to buy beer, so my standards are low as long as i'm entertained.

RottenTomatoes.com has the movie tracking at 80% Fresh (postive) at the moment with a number of high profile reveiwers giving a thumbs up including Varetiy.

I'M SORRY. I'M STAYING TRUE TO MY ONE TRUE LOVE. I WILL SEE IM2 AS MUCH AS I WENT TO SEE IM1- 6 TIMES IN THEATERS & OWNING 7 COPIES ON DVD. BEST MOVIE EVER MADE- I HAVE FAITH IN THE SEQUEL- RDJ, GWEN & JOHN FAVREAU CAN DO NO WRONG. IRON MAN #1!!!
Much like the poster above, I also checked out what RT.com had to say. It just goes to show that Perez's research into things he talks about is worthless. Whoever wrote this probably got sent one bad review and decided that was the end. Again, worthless!

I don't think the public will listen to the critics. They will watch it one way or another. And still, they will do the Avengers movie, either way they make Iron Man 3 or not
I can't stand RDJ… He acts like he's so A list. He gets parts for some reason. He must have friends in high places… That's the ONLY way I can explain it.

Exactly, Bear. This is the kind of thing that drives me crazy whether it's a "fun" site like Perez or an actual news site. i.e. Stating subjective opinion as if it were fact. That headline "Iron Man 2 getting mixed to bad reviews"! is not only misleading but proving to be factually dubious, Perez.
Now IM2 is up to 82% positive at RT from a number of solid critics. You chose to highlight a poor review…which is your right. Have at it. But about stating your opinion as, you know, opinion? Rather than post selective facts that support your thesis while ignoring the facts that contradict it. Some may consider this nitpicky…but if makes me question all of the stories I read on PerezHilton.com. And that's not good for you or your business.
I'm not going to go see it because they dumped Terrance Howard for Don Cheadle. Now, I'm not a fan of either guys but I really hate when they offer the movie role to someone famous to begin with (Bryce Dallas Howard, Don Cheadle) then they turn it down because it sounds lame but when it comes out and makes a lot of money they want to jump on that band wagon.
Robert Downey Jr is smoking at the moment, if this film tanks it won't be because of his acting, he's the best actor around.

Yes, I'm one of the fortunate few who got to see this gem a bit early and I'm happy to report that they took what worked so well in Iron Man and ran with it in an extremely gratifying way. It has the same flavor and humor of the original and it may even focus more on the fabulous relationships already developed. I was stunned at how they managed to deliver a better film. I didn't think that was possible. Everyone came to play and this great cast brought their best stuff and it shows on screen. Everyone knew Downey, Paltrow and Cheadle could act but Bill O'Reilly and The CNN anchor? Yes, they show up and do a GREAT job in extended cameos. Rourke and Rockwell are PERFECT as the duel foils for Tony Stark, I mean PERFECT. From the Grand Prix in Monaco to the amazing finale, buckle up because this is one intense, interesting, intelligent and fun ride. My only real complaint is that Scarlett's Black Widow has too little screen time.
When I was done viewing this movie, all I could think about was how it instantly stacks up to the all-time great sequels. What was said about classics like Spider-Man 2, X2, Empire Strikes Back, TDK and even Godfather 2 holds true for Iron Man 2. I honestly can't wait to see it again.
