I thought she was only 15 or 16. Isn't that a little young to visit colleges? She's definitely the Jodie Foster/Brooke Shields type of child actor..good choices, kind of girl who will do well.

I hope she takes on something really challenging as her major - something along the lines of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature. Brilliant stuff! I bet she has the wits to contribute something of great value to this field of study. Glad to see her doing well and making such good decisions; very rare for child actors to grow up and make sound decisions for themselves. Keep pushing yourself to grow, Miss Fanning! Nothing but good things can come of that…

If you understood what Gallatin really allows its students to study, you wouldn't consider Dakota so "brainy." It's not entirely out of the question that she may end up majoring in something wild like Minotaur Philosophy (I'm joking, but not as much as you would think). It is also worth mentioning that Dakota would be accepted to NYU regardless of her academic credentials.

I went to NYU and everyone makes fun of Gallatin students…they get to make up their course of study and just do "research" wo having to really attend much class. such a joke…

This news is probably legit because yes she just turned 16 last february, but she's already a senior in HS! She had skipped a couple of grades. I remember reading that she started reading at the age of 2, and was already in the 2nd grade level at just 5 years old! She's about 2 years ahead of her peers…she is a very smart girl so don't even think that she'd get into any college just because she's an actress. It's clear she has the brains for college as well…And just because she was seen touring NYU, doesn't mean she is set to go there. Like any other freshman, she's probably doing her college research.
