Batman 3 Has An Official Release Date!!

After the announcement of the third Chris Nolan-directed Batman film, Warner Bros. has set the official release date to July 20, 2012.

The studio is in the very early stages of development, yet Nolan has said this is most likely the last film in the series.

So far, no word yet on which big villain will be featured. Whoever it is, it will be hard to fill the shoes of Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight.

      Splendid. Best superhero movies ever!! I wonder what villains will be featured. The Joker was an off the charts amazing performance by Heath Ledger, so they'll need a really great, talented actor. Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin? I've heard that one a few times. People keep saying stuff about Daniel Day-Lewis, but I don't know if he wants to do a big budget movie ever again after Nine. I mean, they made him guest on OPRAH!
      Maybe there will be a Robin this time, lol. Nolan has never made a bad film, and his Batman series gets better each time, so, I'm sure he knows he has to wow everyone even more than Dark Knight. I also can't wait for Inception this summer!

      I am looking forward to this. Im still not sure why everyone went on so much about Heath Ledger in the last movie. I thought he was okay, at best. I think it was kind of hyped up because he died. Still looking forward to this.

      I dont think anyone can touch Heath Ledgers performance & they shouldnt try.A different character would be great-Philip Hoffman would be great as 2face-or maybe Scar Jo or Britney Spears as catwoman.{they would both rock the catsuit!} Only prob would be if prima dona Bale could deal with a bigger star playing opposite him??

      woo hooo! i was watching Dark Knight on DVD just the other day and it is seriously the best of all the batman movies.

      it will be hard to top…hope they don't fuck it up and add too many villains like they did with Spider-Man 3 or what sounds like they're doing with Iron Man 2. just get one reeeeally good villain and let it go. i think a Bane breaking Batman's back movie would rock, that was such a good story arc in the comics.

      oh and i hope someone tell Christian Bale to lighten up on the raspy growl as Batman. it was okay in the 1st movie but in the 2nd is was ridiculous…you couldn't hardly understand what he was saying and it made it impossible for him to actually ACT through all that growling.

Did you not see how he was constantly (subcionsciously mind you) licking the sides of his mouth because of his wounds? or how when he was driving that truck and sticking his head out the window it gave pretty much everyone goosebumps b/c he WAS The Joker, he wasn't acting at that point.

      Chris Nolan has had his arm twisted by Warner Brothers who have absolutely nothing on slate after the Harry Potter finale compared to Paramount who have Iron Man and Star Trek still giving. He never wanted another Batman film, he outdid himself with the first two but he has to pander to Hollywood and in doing so, he's set up this one for a fail.
      To people saying Christian Bale shouldn't be Batman again, one tirade doesn't make him public enemy #1. Whether he's a nutter or not, he brought something different to the character. And, girly who said Depp is in Chicago, how can he be? He's in Venice, has been there for sometime now.

      Re: Pisky – Wrong my friend. He acted very well, did a good performance, played a great psycho, but he was NOT the Joker, and that's what was wrong with the whole movie. He got all the praise and hype because he dies, period. I loved him as an actor, but he messed this part up badly. I have been a loooong time Batman comic reader, and of all comic characters, the Joker was always my favorite. Anyone who read and knows the Joker character knows that Heath did not represent him well at all. Even if you could look past the fact that he was wearing makeup (which the Joker does not), didn't have green hair (which the Joker does), had a scarred face (which the Joker does not) and only acted crazy, but not maniacle as the Joker should (he lacked any of the Joker signature dramatic and humorous flair), his performance came up flat. The only part of the movie that he came close to really capturing the Joker was when he dressed as the nurse in the hospital sequence. The best part of that movie was Two-Face. He was dead on!
