"My theory is, the movie business retires you. There won't be any fanfare or announcement. I'll just fade away like the old soldier I am."

He always was a classy guy, and they don't make "movie stars" like this anymore.

      Just ask Gene Hackman

Sad! I wish this weren't the case. It's interesting to hear that the movie business does this to aging men as well as women. I thought it was often the female actors who got the shaft once they reached 50. I still think male actors are kept in the biz much longer! A shame nonetheless….

Sad! I hope this isn't the case. I'm surprised to hear that this is happening to aging male actors as well. I always thought it was the 50+ female actors that got the shaft as they started to develop wrinkles. I still think men have an edge in this department and are able to stay in the business longer. Either way, sad it happens at all. Enough with this ageism!

I don't care how old MC is. I love to see him. I hope he's in the next Batman movie. There are a few actors that when they are on the screen, that's who you look at. He's one of them. Personality plus.

He stars in The batman Movies…it is not like he is doing lifetime movies

I love Michael Caine! I first saw him in a movie called, "Blame it on Rio" (80's flick).

I think it affects both male and female actors but men definitely have a longer shelf life so to speak than women. Not too many Betty Whites still getting work. I love Michael Caine. I can still remember reading his acting book. Very insightful

      Oh how I love him…

even though buddy here is completely respected anyways, I'd still like to see more of him

There will always be roles for men and women actors who aren't afraid to play age appropriate parts. Especially the Michael Caines of the world. It's the one's who get nipped, tucked, pulled and injected that can't pull off playing real people. Burt Reynolds just gets joke parts.

Sir Micheal Caine, a true class act.

    15. 15

      Hope he doesn't retire, I'm a fan.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way…

Can any of you fucktards tell me what song that's from?

      Time.

See, some of us like classic actors AND classic music.

      I love him.

My beautiful Michael Caine, I will cry for ten days when you decide to stop making movies.

Anyone who hasn't seen LITTLE VOICE is missing an amazing and tragic and wonderfully acted story. At the end Mr. Caine sings a farewell song that will give you chills.

I fucking loved you in Get Carter…so sexy.

    21. 21

      he's such a good actor

    22. 22

Aww, it makes me sad to hear him say this. Older Hollywood don't know how much more they are respected than our current "stars."

    23. 23

This man created so many memorable characters - and SO sexy! God Bless, Michael, we love you xoxoxoxoxoxox

Michael Caine is a great actor, a dying breed. I hope he doesn't fade away.
