22 Year Old Poses As High School Student To Play Basketball!

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueZportzDrew BarrymoreBusted!

This is absolutely insane!

Like something out of a certain Drew Barrymore movie - but much more effed up!

The high school that inspired Friday Night Lights has been rocked with scandal after one of their best basketball players was exposed as a 22 year old!

Guerdwich Montimere, who graduated from high school in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 2007, enrolled at Permian High School under the name Jerry Joseph and managed to convince his coach, Danny Wright, that he was homeless. Wright even took the liar in!

Suspicions apparently arose at a tourament in Arkansas last month, where various coaches recognized Montmimere from his actual high school career, and after some investigation, officials confronted the con artist and arrested him!

He's currently being held on $500 bail and, if convicted, could face up to six months in prison!

Wright, whose team must now have to forfeit the rest of their season because of the fraud, says:

"This affected a lot of people. The whole school of Permian embraced that kid. He deceived us and played on everyone's emotions."

So HOrrific! The douche must have desperately wanted to re-live his high school glory days!

Thoughts??

  15. 15

Perez, you make it sound like this kid is 35 and pretending to be in high school. hes a 22 year old KID. Who knows, he may not have had anywhere to live…and its possible his only skill is bball and he thought he could correct past mistakes. This kid made a mistake, and I don't think this is any more"effed up" than what David Arquette did in never been kissed…same deal.

He must love his b-ball. His motive wasn't evil, come on.

  17. 17

AND HE IS NOT A DOUCH.Before you JUDGE him KNOW HIM! He did it for a better scholarship and a better life!

  21. 21

Pretty sure Friday Night Lights is about foot ball.

  22. 22

Wish I had thought of this plan.

  23. 23

I'm 43 but I look super young (could pass for 15) and was considering doing the same thing! I miss prank calling my geography teacher!!

  24. 24

What a waste. Sending him to PRISON???? what a waste of tax dollars fuck. How bout put a RAPIST away instead of someone who wanted to play basket ball. wta a bunch of horse shit

  25. 25

    Re: HOLYGEEBUS – It's still fraud….

  26. 26

It's fraud..I wouldn't want a 22yr old dating my 15yr old daughter… and he's taking advantage of our school system which also uses our tax dollars..

I would also like to point out that they were all fine having an illegal immigrant play on their team even though I'm pretty sure that's against the rules as well….but anything to win, right?

    27

Yes, because PRISON will really help a kid who really loves b-ball and wants a better life, while Wall street is still walking around betting on American companies failing. They've taken leave of their senses if they're going to do this to a good kid. See the comment on this page from another kid who knows him. Tell me, who did he hurt? Whose money did he defraud? Who did he lobby in a back room? Back a few years, he would have been disallowed from playing, suspended for a few days and sent home. The embarrassment was considered enough for a young person. Prison? That's overkill. Way overkill. If he's any good, someone should sign him up for that scholarship for daring to dream, even if he did it the wrong way, as YOUNG PEOPLE sometimes do in their journey to adulthood.

  28. 28

Ya we are still recovering from friday night lights days and now we get hit with this crap! People are over whelmed with this and alot of teens pissed.
Odessa is a good town but some how we get alot of crappy people our way

  29. 29

    Wow, that desperate.

  30. 30

Jail, less than 1 year sentence …prison, more than 1 year sentence

  31. 31

he also wanted some cheerleader tail

  32. 32

I hope he didn't bang any underage girls

  33. 33

hahaa idk how people wouldn't notice, but he should have known he woulda been caught.!! :D

  34. 34

First of all FNL is NOT real!!! Second of all this "kid" has a family, had a scholarship to play BBall in Ill after graduating in 2007. Was being looked at by the NBA. So NO! Don't feel sorry for him. He had great oppurtunites in his life! The fact is he is from Haiti, lied and said he was orphaned and forged documents, and stole ID! Coach took him in outta the goodness of his heart! And this "kid" cost the whole SR BBall team their season! He was at at tournement last month when his old coach from Fl recognized him! So no one meddled nvmeh16!! Don't speak on issues you have no clue on! thats an ignorant flaw you should work on! And don't compare this to some movie. This MAN not "kid" was around underage boys and girls! Thats serious! Get educated before making comments!

  35. 35

Re: nvmeh16 – you're ignorant! no one meddled! He was outted by his former Fl coach! Get your facts before posting!!

Re: southernbelle007 – Thanks for that info. It looks like some people WERE quite hurt by the fallout of what he did. I still think prison harsh, tho…but a fine and community service wouldn't be out of line. It's sad, and indicitive of a twisted perception on his part of how things are done to get somewhere in the world, and what's ok and what isn't. Lacked good guidance.

this guy is 22 years old and graduated in 07? most 22yr olds graduated in 05-06.. this kid is full of fail.

  38. 38

Ok, I am from Odessa and graduated from Permian. This guy hurt a lot of people in this community and while no one is viciously hunting him down, he really let this town down and ruined a lot of senior basketball players' seasons. They may have to forfeit their whole season and they will never get this year back!!! Now, our school district may lose money because the district received money for each day he was in school and now they will have to repay it. Also, this coach took him in and gave him a home and this guy completely took advantage!! Notice I say GUY and not KID…he's 22 and old enough to know that what he did was wrong!! He is now being charged with tampering with federal documents and could face up to 10 years in jail because of the fake documents he used to enroll in school. However, all of this makes no difference because he was released on bond and was supposed to be staying with a local bondswoman and he somehow jumped her back fence and is nowhere to be found…what a great guy!! Yet another person brings him into her home and he escapes, plus probably costs her business money by skipping out on his bail…

Oh! and to whoever said Friday Night Lights was not real ummm yes, it was! It was about the 1988 football team at Permian and while it was an exaggeration of life in this town, those were REAL people, FYI!!

  39. 39

Update: He was actually just arrested for the third time because he was convicted of statutory rape of a 15 year old girl. He was claiming to be 15 (which means he was really 21) years old at the time while attending school with kids from the ages of 12-15. GROSS! He deserves to be in jail for doing something this peverted. I went to Permian High and just graduated last year. I cannot defend him for doing something so awful and I am embarrassed that this has even happened.

  40. 40

Friday Night Lights was loosely based on the actual events of the 1988 football season. The movie portrayed Odessa as something it's not and fans that do not act that way. The season was real, yes. But the movie and book were grossly exaggerated! So yes! FNL was not entirely real!

  41. 41

tmarshall i know they were real people you idiot! geeze! I went to PHS!! Graduating class of 1990! So it upsets me to have read the book, to have seen the movie, and to know that many thihngs in the book and movie were lies! So once again yes FNL is NOT real!!! The people are, the school is, but the story line is not!

  42. 42

That picture is of football. You only picked it because it has guys holding hands even through it has no relevance to the post!
