Sandra's New Digs In New Orleans

It kind of look likes the house in Practical Magic, right?

Nestled in the Garden District of New Orleans is Sandra Bullock's new Louisiana home and we've got a little peek inside.

The 6,615 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms estate is gorgeous, inside and out, and is sure to make all of Coliseum Street insanely jealous! Just look at the decor! The columns, the marble mantels, the gorgeous parlor and dining room.

It's just lovely.

Course, it isn't much a grand foyer, but sacrifices had to be made we guess. Either way, we think Louis will love it!

Do U like?

while a gorgeous house, doesn't really look "kid friendly"……..

      it's beautiful!

$100 says she won't last 1 year in New Orleans. After about the 5th time she is woken up in the middle of the night by some homeless crackhead vomitting in her flower bed, she will either shoot them or move.

    4. 4

I think the house is beautiful. But I have to say the decor would have to be changed if it were for my family. With 4 kids the antique/ornate furnishings would have to go and in its place a more casual chic look in its place. I think it is beautiful as a "show" house but definitely not one that could be comfortably lived in.

    5. 5

I think across the street used to be Trent Reznor's house.. the Purple house. or rather Lavender. The house Sandra bought is beautiful…I think the last time I went Anne Rice had just sold the house..I wonder if I can find the pix I took? hmmmmm

    6. 6

How does this remotely look like the house in practical magic? Do your homework idiot - Maybe on the outside because it's old and white - gawd.

    7. 7

I'm pretty sure that this is Anne Rice's former home.

Re: MoodySpring – thankyou! Perez is such an idiot.

    9. 9

I think it looks horrendous. But hey, I will never live there anyway.

    10. 10

All of the furnishings and decor are really fugs

    11. 11

ya… her baby will have a great time climbing on priceless furniture and pulling himself up on unsteady but "pretty" tables… not to baby friendly.

    12. 12

      Nope. It's tacky as hell.

    13. 13

If I was as famous as Sandra, I would not want people to know what the inside of my private home looks like. The decor is pretty but simply not my style.

    14. 14

It is a nice house, but with all the money she has made, she could have bought something much more spectacular and luxorious. I mean, look at that kitchen, it is so ordinary, just like you would find in anybody's house. The rappers have the coolest mansions.

    15. 15

Umm, hello? Everyone? This is not what the interior looks like NOW. It's what the interior looked like when they were showing the house. And even if the house came furnished, I'd like to think Sandy is a little more realistic in that you don't have a toddler in a house decorated like that.

Besides that…it's a gorgeous house. The frame is beautiful.

    16. 16

Gaudy or if you want to get urban gawdy. After seeing this and reading how she may or may not sleep with 9 dogs I'm beginning to see the picture Jesse James lived in.

    17. 17

the decor doesn't really match sandras laid back style, it seems stuffy too formal.i really don't think louis is going to have an opinion about the house anytime soon duh he's a baby.

    18. 18

Ugh. It looks like a whorehouse inside. Tacky.

    19. 19

It is decorated in typical Victorian style. I think it looks lovely. As for kid friendly, many people have children and keep valuables out. My parents had plenty of antiques and other stuff and nothing was ever broken. It is called discipline and respect.

    20. 20

It's haunted. Anne Rice wrote a book featuring the house, "The Witching Hour". It's very good.

    21. 21

Re: dholmas – parents these days don't raise children with discipline and respect…….unfortunate but true - kids rule the roost these days……..

    22. 22

Welcome to NOLA Sandra and Louis :)

    23. 23

Take a look at the date of the blog entry on the Realestalker - this was posted in August of 2009. She didn't just buy this house.

    24. 24

nah dont like it too old fashioned looks like a museum i would go totally technological and have a theater in there flat screens that are hidden by walls.. bose surround sound system througout

    25. 25

I like the outside of the house. Have always had a thing for the Victorian style architecture.

But the inside is WAY too busy, too much, too ornate. I prefer a much simpler, calmer environment. Too many geegaws, nooks and crannies, etc for dust and cobwebs to cling to.

Oh well, if it makes her happy.

Pig Face, your ignorance is BRASILBALLS, AMAZEBALLS, HIGHlarious. JEALOUSY is the fear of losing something you have; ENVY is coveting what someone else has, such as integrity, you toxic douche!

    27. 27

The Garden District has some of the most beautiful old antebellum homes. Someone said she was living in the old Anne Rice house. I don't think this is the Anne Rice House. I knew that house. The Anne Rice house was haunted by some man named Brevard who killed himself. Honestly, for as beautiful as it is, if you haven't been in New Orleans in the summer you can't imagine how unbearable the heat and humidity can be. I hope she likes it hot. The house is beautiful though.

    28. 28

Why, Sandra?! Why move to the bastion of filth and calamity?! I'm speechless.

    29. 29

hmmmmmm, your source is from aug 2009, you post may 2010…. well at least you are getting more current….

    30. 30

      it's far too up-my-own-ass decor for my taste… i hate ornately-gilded shiz

    31. 31

I thought it looked like it was close to the front street. That can't be good.

    32. 32

It looks like a brothel inside.

    33. 33

THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT WHEN I SAW THESE PICS WAS: "Did she buy the house from 'Practical Magic' lol YOU NAILED IT RIGHT ON THE HEAD PREZ!

    34. 34

      wow

      good for you sandra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    35. 35

It's lovely and she deserves it big time. I hope they have a wonderful life there.

These were the realtor's pictures - probably not what the house looks like on the inside anymore. And to who ever thinks in New Orleans there was a bigger home to purchase - you're terribly wrong. Our houses are so close together in the actual city that this is probably the biggest house and most likely ran for about 3 mil. She'd have to move into the country for a bigger home.

    37. 37

      it looks haunted

    38. 38

Are these pictures from the listing BEFORE she bought it. She had very different furniture unloaded there. I would like to see if AFTER Sandy decorated it.

    39. 39

It's very much a typical New Orleans Garden District home. You can peep inside pretty much any other house in that area and find the same decor. I am sure these are realtor's pics though, and probably not what Sandra's house looks like now.

    40. 40

      Beautiful!

    41. 41

The house has potential, but in need of SERIOUS redecorating, that home looks scary as is now. But, nevertheless, best of luck to Sandra and her family.

    42. 42

um, I hope her house isn't really decorated that way… Why the hell would she move to New Orleans?

    43. 43

It is a beautiful house. I toured that area, those homes are gorgeous.
But she stays for like 6 months and that's it.

    44. 44

I hope she finds somewhere more private. She deserves to be happy and lead a douche free life. Paps included.

    45. 45

There is a house in New Orleans..
They call it the house of the Rising Sun
It's been the ruin of many a poor boy..
And God- I know I'm one.

    46. 46

Re: methesupergirl – Maybe that's what she wants? Not everyone feels the need to show off.

    47. 47

nice place if youre 80 years old and a bit senile

Very french looking. Good luck with that, and a toddler.

    49. 49

Hot damn. Sandra can adopt me whenever she wants to.

    50. 50

Not my style and I don't care for the staircase. I like the house from the outside better. As long as it makes her happy

    51. 51

the decor in the pictures are from the previous owner and the realtor took the pictures at the time it was on the market. It is common to see houses uptown with lots of antiques in them. She will not be bothered much at all in NOLA once things calm down with her divorce. There are lots of celebs that live in NOLA and come and go as they please. I have a friend who lives on Coliseum Dr. and it's a very laid back neighborhood. They aren't going to take kindly to paps camping out in their driveways.

    52. 52

      its perfectly romantic!

    53. 53

she had truckloads of furniture being carried in..I have a feeling she kept some and got rid of ALLOT!
Sandra…good luck in your new home(s)

    54. 54

Re: dholmas – Well said. I knew better than to climb on nice furniture when I was a kid because my mom raised me to understand rules and have some sense. If I wanted to act like a monkey, I went outside or to my room to play, not to my mom's formal sitting room or formal dining room. Just because you have children doesn't mean your house has to look like the playland at McDonald's for you to be a good parent. The prettiest, most well kept and beautifully decorated home of all my friends belongs to a family with 3 kids under age 6. It's always clean and they have nice furniture and decorations because their kids know how to behave appropriately.

    55. 55

I love it! I love the whole "antique" decorations and stuff
She totaly deserves it! she sacrificed a LOT

    56. 56

I can't imagine a hard-living person like her llving in such dainty surroundings. Sandra always looks like she just flunked out of drug rehab. I think that she'll be like a bull in a china shop in that house.
