Her style has always been a bit out there and she makes no apologies for it. She admits that she always dresses "honestly." Whatever feels good on that day, she will wear it, including a "Cruella De Vil" fur hat that PETA lost their minds over.
They deemed the accessory a crime against animals and even sent her a nasty letter about it. She says they can shove it, saying "Who are you to tell me what to wear?" and even admitting she would plaster her walls in fur if she could.

But I would like to see them try to do something in Russia, for example, where almost everybody wears fur in the winter, when it's -20 C. yeah, I have to admitt that the way the fur is harvested is cruel. There needs to be a better method to do so if people still want to wear fur. Personally I don't like fur and don't see what the big deal is about it. Having said that, like I said before…I'm not going to place an animals life over a humans the way PETA would like. If it's acceptable to eat a cow…it should be acceptable to wear a cow's hide. I also think the whole "pleather" and "fauz fur" is lame too cause it's just using other resources to make something look like something it's not. it's like chicken and beef flavored tofu. If you are going to eat tofu and be a vegetarian or vegan it should taste like what it is and not like an animal's carcas.

& the animals used in the fur industry are different than the ones used in the meat industry. Fur = Rabbits, cats, dogs, minks, foxes, etc. Meat = Cows, pigs, chickens, etc.

There's is no "going over board" with fur. Do you know that it is harder to strip the skin from a dead animal than a live one? And with no specific regulations workers take the easy street. and you don't die instantly from having your skin stripped. You lay in sharp stingy pain with only your eyelashes still intact until you starve or die of exhaustion. Also, because the pay of the workers are low (along with their IQ) they often take out their frustrations of their environment on the animals. This can include cutting off their noses, breaking their bones, sexually assualting them, and slamming them into walls. It is irresponsible to wear fur. Im sure Kelis wouldn't wear clothes made from child labour. She is obviously ignorant and callous

Just for the record for the person who said that in Russia people were fur because it's -20'c during winter time. I'm from Finland and last winter we had even -30'c and I saw some grannies wearing fur jackets. Younger people are not wearing that shit. There are some other (better looking and animal friendly) options nowadays. Fur clothes are disgusting, old-fashioned and definitely not needed in the world today. I'll accept leather/fur clothes when they start to make those from humans.
