Finally, some answers!

For those of you who are curious to know how the young Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows actors will be aged twenty years for the film's adaptation of the love-it-or-hate-it series epilogue, Tom Felton, who appears in the scene as the nefarious Draco Malfoy, was kind enough to spill some info!

He's confirmed that Director David Yates is not just relying on aging the actors with CQI, they'll be using prosthetics as well!

Says Tom:

"For nearly two months, we've all been doing prosthetic tests and all sorts of preparation for the epilogue. I've been having some aging training. You've got to walk differently. There's a slump in your walk. It's going to be the last big thing that we do. It's going to be on location. It's bizarre. We have a lovely guy who comes in. It was a little weird the first time — imagine you've got weights on your arms! There have been a number of times where I nearly laughed and I had to hold it in. We're probably at the most exciting bit. Certainly the part I've been most looking forward to. It's going to be very exciting."

Inneresting!

We're glad they're taking the time to work with the teens - readers of the series were pretty split in half on the cheese factor at the end of the last book, so it's nice to know that they're committed to make the actors look and appear as legit as possible!

Otherwise, the entire sequence would definitely look RIDICULOUS!

What do U think?? Will they successfully pull off aging the cast??

Prosthetics? Weighted limbs? Slumping? I hope they don't overdo it - they're going from 18 to 38, not to 68.

  2. 2

The little girl now has boobies !

  3. 3

Wait a minute! They 'age' 20 years and now they start slumping and walk with heavy arms? I think that kind of aging happens a lot later than 30's-40's.

  4. 4

Apparently someone needs to read the book since Draco dies way before the end of the book. The only ones in book epilogue who people will recognize are Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny.

  5. 5

…dahlings….what a little freak show……when will this all be gone?

  6. 6

I loved the books and I loved the first 4 movies, but yea I have zero interest in these last two pictures and I know I'm not alone.

Re: LeeReyes – Apparently someone needs to get a brain, because Draco doesn't die at all.

  8. 8

I'm looking forward to the epilogue. I think Rowling could've done it differently or put more into it, but then it would've been a different book entirely.
But there is a difference in the way a 20-year-old moves and the way someone in their late-30s moves. I think these last couple films are going to be the best because they're putting so much more into them. Even having Deathly Hallows split into 2 films shows how much attention they're giving it.

    Re: LeeReyes – wtf?
hey let's ruin it for everyone else, why don't ya???

    Re: Nathiestx

Yeah I loved all of the books up until the last one. What's Harry Potter without the school year at Hogwarts? The book didn't have the same charm. And then that god awful epilogue! Why they made this one into two films is beyond me.

  11. 11

They're not talking about age training for being 17-20, they're talking about for the end of book 7 when they're all in their 30s or 40s I believe. In the series, they age each book anyway. What is all the big deal about their age. If must be from people who haven't read the series.

  12. 12

the ending epilogue is ridiculous on its own. it sucked major major lollipops. i hope they completely re-write it. it's just an excuse to see how they age and which physical features their kids get from their famous parents -_- imo

  13. 13

Did they forget how to do math on the set? I find this hard to believe. I just don't see how they would need all sorts of training and technology to play what are still pretty young characters.

  14. 14

Re: LeeReyes – yep "someone" does need to read the books… YOU. Draco IS in the epilogue and does NOT die at any point in the series.

  15. 15

i am so confused but i stopped reading the books after goblet of fire.. why do they age 20 years? that's just weird to me..

  16. 16

Re: LeeReyes – um….go re-read it yourself, he doesn't die, gets injured but is still living in the epilogue

  17. 17

As long as he still looks hot.

  18. 18

    LOL

  19. 19

Are you kidding? The epilogue is one of the few points I'm really looking forward to in Deathly Hallows. That book was seriously not on the same level as the other 6 - she totally phoned it in or handed it off to a team of ghost writers.

  20. 20

Ummmm they're NOT gonna be grandparents, just parents - God it makes me think I never wanna get older (23 now) when I read that.

  21. 21

Re: LeeReyes – no go read the books, harry saves him, and at the train station draco gives the trio a nodd and walks away with his wife and son called scorpio.

  22. 22

Re: smoochie888 – Completely agree, at least half, if not 2/3rds of Deathly Hallows seemed boring and phoned in. When I first heard that they were splitting this into two movies, I seriously considered not wasting my time on the first part of it. I know myself though, I'll be there.

  23. 23

Re: LeeReyes – Haha you're an idiot. And Perez, the only one of the kids in Harry Potter who is a teen still is Bonnie Wright.

  24. 24

    CQI???????????

  25. 25

    i despise that epilogue

  26. 26

some people need to read the book before they comment…

  27. 27

    love Draco

  28. 28

Re: lifesaabeach – the epilogue takes place twenty years later from when theyre 18.

  29. 29

LOL i love the comments above me, hilarious :D … anyway gawd I seriously think that reading the series A LONG TIME AGO and then the movies finally coming out now … I don't remember nearly a single thing in the books, so I'll be pleased in the movies because I won't notice anything different :D good strategy, except the last movie stood out as too much dialogue and not enough music and action …I'm sad that this franchise is over soon, i love magic :\

  30. 30

I can't wait to see this movie!!! I'm so excited that they're taking so much time to make sure they get the epilogue right. I'm also VERY happy that they decided to use the original actors instead of hiring older actors. The characters are only 36-38 in the epilogue, which isn't that old.

    I can't wait to see it!! :D

  31. 31

It doesn't matter, Tom Felton will be sexy no matter how much they age him.

But I'm really excited to see the epiologue. I'm excited to see the whole two movies, really!!
